~9~ Charlotte's Panic and Harriett's Observation

By the time Charlotte came across a maid in her household's garden, she had already planned something, including the maid she knew to be called Harriett.

It was at this point that the idea occurred to her that she immediately grabbed Harriett without hesitation and walked over to where she knew earlier that Louis had gone.

Back then - after Harriett had said that the lady's new butler had to go somewhere else - Charlotte also pointed out that they had to go somewhere else and that was to follow the young butler.

"Milady, are we doing the right thing?"

"What are you talking about, Harriett? Of course we only go through the market, right?"

'What is certain is that we really are still walking around the market - why would Milady want to go to the back of the household where there was a tiny hole? However, we even went into the forest - we were just lucky that when we asked earlier where the market was, there seemed to be a passer-by. Certainly, my lady was really unpredictable sometimes. Another thing was we just walk around the market? I felt like we were doing more than just walking.'

However, Harriett hadn't even dared to correct the lady, telling her that the servants might worry about her about her returning to the household, because she didn't want to sound hypocritical, and by that line – she knew the servants don't do it like the lady and acted like the lady in the household.

But she is already honored to be with her, knowing that she was a lady to serve in the Carlile household.

Still, she was about to say something else when Charlotte immediately grabbed her other hand and her eyes suddenly widened in surprise

"M-Milad -----"

"Shhhhhh, we're on a special mission today Harriett"

"S-Special-M-Mission?"

"Yes, and we are already doing it. However, I am grateful that you are by my side right now - but the main purpose of this mission was to observe someone and I guess you never know about it, but - I need to know if that person keeps their promise or not."

'I am already grateful that Milady was grateful to me and also saw my efforts with her. But what did my lady mean by promise and she also said - he - so it's a guy? Well, it's never wrong to assume, but shouldn't I conclude correctly?'

When her reply Harriett just nodded gravely at the lady, which made Charlotte's smile wider than before, and before Charlotte was about to say anything, her vision had already caught a familiar figure, and that's when she immediately averted her gaze from Harriett and to her went the person she knew well - Louis and there he just entered a grocery store to buy some ingredients

'Hmm, must be that the cook in our household told him to buy some ingredients! Gosh, well I think it's good enough considering he doesn't have to talk to anyone there. But to be absolutely sure - I have to keep an eye on this store!'

Charlotte pretended to be stalking someone and so she just leaned against the wall not far from where she was looking for Louis, even putting both hands near her eyes to make a circular shape forming how she wanted to direct her view of this place when she suddenly made a big stomp on the floor that made Harriet jump from her current position, having previously only been watching the lady next to her.

"What the hell is he doing? Why is he smiling at the lady like that, huh? Is he talking about my secret now?"

The lady had screamed, and that was because in sight of her - as soon as Louis had come out of the shop with a brown bag on his arm - he was about to cross the path when he had collided with a lady.

This lady would be about to fall to the ground if Louis didn't catch her in time. That was the time he smiled at her and the lady smiled at Louis.

Charlotte was suddenly frustrated - as if she were grinding her teeth, her eyes were now staring at them both and Harriett could even see some smoke coming out of her nose and ears at that moment

'Why is Milady acting in a certain way? Wait, as soon as we got out of the household, she blurted out the young man's whereabouts. Is the reason for our fake walk in the market related to that young man we saw earlier? Well I think so, considering the lady was talking about a man.'

Harriett couldn't believe what she saw and it was only when the lady had had enough that she again took Harriett's hand and went to a point not far from Louis as he had already gone to another place to buy something, when suddenly the lady bumped into someone and that someone was able to catch the lady before she even fell to the ground.

Those actions caused Charlotte to close her eyes and wait for her butt to hit the floor again when — she felt different. She felt as if she had hands on her waist preventing her from falling to the ground only to see a young man also staring at her intensely.

But with that - her eyes widened and her brows drew together at the moment she saw what the man's features were like - he had that dark hair and crimson eyes that anyone could be afraid of, but for Charlotte - thought them that this man was a thief.

Because the way he looked at her and the way he dressed suggested that she was a thief in her mind, she didn't even hesitate to smack the man's other cheek directly because he was surprised.

At that moment, Charlotte was able to regain her balance and immediately grabbed Harriett, who only looked apologetically at the young man who was hit and just fell to the ground in a faint.

"What the hell is wrong with these people these days?! You are so much stranger than I thought!"

Exclaimed Charlotte while shaking her shivers as she ran as she continued to hold Harriett's hand to run to the spot where she was sure where Louis is.

Harriett, on the other hand, couldn't help but sigh and shook her head, only to look at the lady seriously afterwards

'The lady I know about from the rumors was a villainess and I guess she had reasons for it. Also, I knew beforehand that the lady hit the young man, not because she doesn't like him - but because he touched her first, although it's an immediate action when you see someone about to fall. For Milady, however - it seems that she misunderstood the situation, which is why she was able to catch the young man unprepared. I can only imagine if he's still alive or not. My goodness'

From that moment - Harriett had been plucking a lot lately and it was so long before they were already in a narrow alley. That's where Charlotte's feet had gotten them and by then she knew they were already lost.

Yet - even though she thought they were doomed - she still managed to break her grip on Harriett and leaned her body against the cold wall, breathing in enough air that she felt like she was breathing, just for live tomorrow, and when she looked at the maid - she did the same

'We must have tried so hard that we've already lost sight of Louis! My goodness!'

Then, after a few seconds, Charlotte remembered the guy who had caught her earlier. He seemed like a bad guy so she hit him right away without even hearing what he said beforehand. That's the time she'd asked Harriett what had made her eyes widen

"Harriet, did you see the young man earlier? He's creepy, don't associate with someone who looks like that."

'So Milady never knew what she did? Well, as I thought - she had her reasons, I believe.'

"No, my lady, the young man could not follow us. As I saw earlier – after you did that to the young man – he fell to the ground immediately."

"What?! Fell to the ground?! Wait, so I killed him then?! My goodness!!!!!"

Charlotte panicked when the maid just let out a sigh and then shook her head while giggling at what the lady had just done

"No, my lady - don't think too seriously. I think he just passed out from the sudden attack. Don't worry, I assure you he will be fine."

"On the whole - Milady isn't even bad, and from my observation - she only has her reasons at first."

"All right! Then we should go to the other places now!"

There she grabbed Harriett's eyes again and searched the spots until she couldn't find Louis anymore. That's because Louis was already in the household at the time, holding the brown bag

"Oh!"

'Wait, is someone talking about me?'
