The black pyramid

Inside the soul space, the moment evolution started, the size of both sky pillars and lake pillars expanded tenfold.

They became so massive that it looked like the entire sky was falling while the entire mana lake was rising and they were colliding at the point of soul seed.

At the center of all this outer chaos, the soul seed was rotating very slowly.

After absorbing the mana for so long, a crack appeared on the soul seed, and black energy started seeping out of it. But this energy just swirled around the soul seed. The crack continued to grow, and with that, the globe of gas continued to expand.

Boom!

With a loud sound, the soul seed exploded, and thick black liquid, as well as a huge amount of black gas, emerged from the soul seed. The black liquid took the center, and the black gas surrounded it from all sides.

From the side, it looked like a massive rotating gas globe. But as the mana around continued to put pressure, the big gas compressed down. It went from the size of a massive building to slightly smaller than arm's length.

All the black gas got so compressed that it solidified and formed the eggshell. Multiple intricate designs appeared on the small egg.

Soon, a thin layer of black fog began emanating from the egg, and unlike last time, it started expanding around the area.

The interesting thing was that the moment mana entered the black fog, it transformed into this black energy. This energy continued to expand, stopping after expanding 500 meters around the egg.

The mana lakes, as well as the blue mana sky, disappeared in this region, filled with black fog.

Instead, in the sky, many black clouds started floating in this region, and the color of the sky became bleak grey. All of them formed with black energy.

Right below the egg, a massive black tip of the pyramid poked out of the lake. The little peak was 100 meters in height, and all the mana lake water in the black region had also become black.

Though many changes happened in the black region, the massive infinite mana lake and blue sky still surrounded this 1000-meter diameter sphere.

The outermost region of the black fog was trying to spread, but the pressure of mana did not allow it.

But suddenly, the mana pressure decreased, and the black fog expanded far and wide within a second.

All the pure mana disappeared, and the black fog swallowed everything. The soul space gained a finite boundary.

Drake, who was in an ethereal-like projections state, stopped floating and fell to the ground.

Thud.

The slow impact was enough to clear the chaos in his mind. He came back to sense and realized that the pain was long gone. He looked around and saw there was nothing but barren black land all around him.

Kane's voice came from his side. "Woah that looks so cool."

He turned toward Kane, only to get frozen as he saw the massive black pyramid. It was so big that even though he was a few kilometers away from it, he still could not see the top of the pyramids. The upper part of the pyramid went beyond the black clouds.

Kane sat down and sighed. "Damn, so many things happened."

He nodded. "Yeah, the last thing I saw was both of our soul seeds merging."

"Dude, don't tell me you did not see the corrosion."

"Corrosion?"

"Yeah, after our soul seed merge every other element except dark started corroding."

His eyes went wide. He saw nothing after their soul seeds merged because of the intense pain. He asked in doubt. "You sure everything is normal?"

Kane shook his head. "I don't know, man." He got up and pointed toward the top of the pyramid. "But I do know that we will find the answer there."

He nodded his head and pushed himself up. He knew he was still in soul form, but now it felt like that he was back to his physical body.

Both of them started walking toward the pyramid. The closer they moved toward the pyramid, they found 2 rivers, one coming down from the left corner while the other was flowing toward the right corner of the pyramid.

What was surprising was that the land around the river was not barren, filled with cracks, but more like soft sand.

When they came a few 100 meters closer to the pyramid, they saw some small black grass growing at the bank of the river.

After coming so close to the pyramid, it surprised them to find a stair at the center of the side of the pyramid.

Both of them looked at each other for a moment, wasted no time, and rushed up to the pyramid.

Along the way, they found nothing, and soon they reached the flat top of the pyramid.

It was a flat pyramid with around 100 square meters of area on the top. The interesting thing was there were 4 massive pillars present at the corner of the base.

Right in the middle, there was a fluffy black cloud floating there. On this black cloud, a palm-sized black egg was resting there.

The moment Drake's eyes fell on the small egg, everything else disappeared from his sight and mind. It was only him and the egg. He didn't know when, but now he stood just next to the egg.

At such a close distance, he could see there were many intricate texture patterns present on the surface of the egg. Just looking at the egg, he felt an urge, a strong desire, to protect this precious thing.

His shaking hands slid toward the egg. Suddenly, the second pair of hands entered his vision, and both pairs touched the egg at the same time.

The small egg started shining, seeming to be happy with their touch. But then the cloud beneath the egg also started shining, and the pyramid below.

It continued to expand. Soon, the entire soul space started shining. This overwhelmed his senses so much that he lost consciousness.

The next moment, he found himself in darkness. He opened his eyes and found Sir Minza standing in front of him.
