9 Training [2]

Why?

A simple question, followed by a set of questions.

Why is he here?

What's his goal?

Did he come here to hinder my training?

A genuine doubt, which then leads to a solid Suspicion...

'Is this a scheme... set up by Calvin...?'

Tak. Tak. Tak.

"She missed... an st-stationary target!" a voice spoke out in disbelief as he saw the arrows miss their target.

It was an unusual sight.

Alisha hardly missed a moving target, even if they were more than 50 metres away and now she can't even hit a stationary target, that was no more than a couple of metres away.

But, there was an obvious reason...

Distraction.

'That's the only possibility! This has to be it. But- Haaah.... It's so annoying to think about that. Why is that bastard here at the training ground?'

"Miss Alishia... Should we call it a day? I feel like you aren't feeling well." A mature woman said.

'Seems like it's not just me, she also sensed it.'

What??

The smell of an underlying...

Conspiracy!

The demeanour of the maid towards Alishia was respectful and the tone of her voice was concerned.

Of course, not for Alishia's health, but because of an entirely different reason— The underlying threat, Lykus's visit brought on her miss and its disastrous potential.

"I am fine, I was just a bit distracted."

Alishia said plainly.

Even with all the things going on inside her head, Alisha perfectly maintained the stoic expression, from start to finish.

"If that's the case... I understand."

The maid replied in a neutral voice, she didn't argue and just accepted Alisha's words.

She knew better than anyone, how her miss was.

After all, she has seen her miss, for far too long to doubt her words. In a different sense, one can say she is more like a family to Alisha, than anyone else in the Clan.

'Calvin, What are you up to? Are you trying to sabotage my training with help of Lykus? Is he your scrape goat?'

She didn't think Lykus was the one, scheming against her and believed that he was just a chess piece, designated by Calvin.

It's not that she was undermining Lykus, but until now, Lykus hasn't shown his capabilities, so everyone formed an image of how he is and what he was capable of.

So it didn't make sense, for him to scheme.

It was just a speculation but the more she thought, the more convinced she became.

After all, who else could it be?

Either it's Calvin or it's Cassandra.

However, Alishia refused to believe that Cassandra would use Lykus as a chess piece as she knew that bitch surely loved Lykus as her child.

'Even if it is a conspiracy, I can't act now. Not before I enrol in the Nephalin Academy.'

It was the hard truth, she has to survive until she enrols in the Nephalin Academy.

'Yes, Survive until I enrol in the Academy. After that, hehehehe~'

Her laugh was cold, containing a hint of lust. Not for anything sexual, but a craving directed towards blood, driven by revenge.

Alishia continued to laugh internally, thinking of her vengeance while tapping on her left earring as she uttered a word in a low voice:

"Barrier."

A translucent barrier, almost invisible to the naked eye created around her.

The barrier was around the shape of a semi-sphere with her being the centre, with a diameter of 10 metres.

"Agatha, Keep an eye on Lykus and track his movements. Inform me if he has any sort of contact with Calvin. Do you understand?"

"Yes. I understand." Agatha like usual didn't speak much and just answered with a slight bow.

....

After gulping down the Body-enhancement serum, I was able to move under the effects of the gravity bracelet.

The pain was still there, however, the pressure on my body was reduced to half with the help of Body-enhancement serum, even though it was just a basic one.

When I felt that I am prepared enough to start today's training, I moved toward the pile of equipment and picked up a body suit fit for my training.

The suit was customised according to my body with the help of the A.I.

After I wore the body suit I felt a change in my movements, as it became a bit more fluent and easy to move.

I wasn't sure of how... or where to start my training. It wasn't really my fault, I have never done any sort of training in my previous life nor have I ever held a sword.

And it certainly isn't something you can learn just by reading a few novels.

'I need an instructor.'

Well, I do need a person who can train and guide me, it certainly isn't something I can do by myself, that is if I don't want to waste my time on trying useless things.

I already have a person in mind who is fit for this job.

However, it's not yet time for that.

At first, I didn't really feel like doing any sort of training for today and just wanted to get familiar with the Training Ground. However, I have changed my mind and decided to do some basic training.

It might not be much of a help, but it could help me reduce my weight.

What I had in mind is to start at a slow pace and adapt with time.

So I started my training with nothing more than running around the Privilege Practice Area.

It's not like there weren't treadmills or anything, But I felt it was nicer to run on a track than on a treadmill.

-

"Haaah..... haaah..."

It has been no more than a few minutes since I started my so-called training but I was already tired and was breathing like an exhausted dog.

But even then, I persisted, I didn't want to give up just after a few minutes.

If I can't even do this much, then I should stop dreaming of a better future.

'One.. haaah... Two.. haaah... One..'

The training continued for a good few minutes before I felt my legs staggered.

It has been about fifteen, and in total twenty minutes since I started sprinting like a mad hound.

Even though I say hound, I was running at the speed of a turtle.

Seems like it's time to stop...

Not the training, but the gravity bracelet.

From the very start, I knew that I won't be able to keep up with the intensity of the training with such an unhealthy body, so I used the gravity bracelet as a way to relieve myself from the accumulated fatigue.

And just as I thought, after I turned off the gravity bracelet, my body started to feel a lot lighter and I was able to run with a lot less effort as well as difficulty.

.....

"Fin-finally."

I spoke with difficulty as I drooped on the ground.

If someone looked at me, they would think of me as a corpse, a lifeless body.

'I finally achieved half an hour of training.'

To be accurate, I ran for about thirty-five minutes and thirteen seconds.

It might not be much in most people's eyes, but for me, it was a good start.

My body might be aching with pain, but to be honest, I didn't feel any sort of discomfort, there was no pain in my body.

What I felt was relief as I continued to lay on the ground with a single thought.

'How am I supposed to go back?'
