2 I Became a Villain

"Master Lykus, are you alright?" an old man wearing a butler outfit asked in a respectful tone while gazing at me.

'Did he say... Lykus, where have I heard that name? That name sounds awfully familiar.' I thought as I tried to remember where have I heard it.

However, neither it's the time nor the place to think about something like that so I decided to focus on his question.

From how he asked and looked at me, It wasn't hard to comprehend that the question was directed toward me.

Even though I knew the question was for me, I wasn't sure of how to answer?

So I did the obvious, I didn't answer the old man and just nodded at him to ease his concern.

Just from the above one can decipher that I have transmigrated.

And even without that, I can tell that I am in the body of a teenager from how small my current build is. But if there is one thing that stands out the most that would be the amount of fat this body has.

I AM FUCKING OBESE!!!

Oh well, that is not something that concerns me in my current plight.

Leaving that aside, there is a question that is bothering me for a while,

Why am I so calm?

Even in this situation, neither do I feel a sense of danger nor am I panicking.

Strangely...my mind is at peace!

If I had to guess then there might be two reasons.

—The first might be because of me being a mentalist!

But I scratched that without a second thought, I am not narcissistic enough to believe that I have attained that level of mentalism where I won't be freaked out in this kind of situation.

—Then it only leaves me to believe the second option:

I DIED!

And if I died that means I got reincarnated in someone else's body, not transmigrated.

How can I specify that I died even though I have no recollection of how I died?

Simple...

Novels!

Like I said before, I have read a shit ton of novels because of a certain someone.

I am no stranger to this transmigrated/reincarnation genre and its cliche start.

Now leaving this matter aside, there are quite a few things I want to know, but two of which are the most crucial:

—First I need to find information about the world and the body I reincarnated into.

—And second...to confirm if I have obtained a...system!

After all, they too are cliches of the transmigrated/reincarnated genre.

So to find out about the second, I tried to call out the system by using the cliche methods of protagonists from whichever system novels that I read, but to my disappointment, nothing popped up.

Neither did a floating screen appeared before me nor did I hear a ding sound.

That again implies two things, either I don't have a system, to begin with, or I need to fulfil certain criteria to unlock or activate the system.

However, that seems to be quite impossible given the chaos transpiring before me.

Having no choice I finally set my eyes on the figures before me as I tried to read the atmosphere.

All I can see is a scrawny-looking man with blue hair and black eyes, trying to demean a meek-looking maid.

Even though I just took a glimpse for no more than a second, my decades of experience are tingling and I can more or less infer what had transpired.

However, I would be foolish to act based on an assumption, so to get further information I inquired in an authoritative tone:

"Does anybody care to explain what had transpired and the reason behind all this ruckus?"

Why did I ask in an authoritative voice?

The reason was quite straightforward.

Just from how respectful the old man was towards me— I can tell that I am a person with quite a bit of authority.

The same old man in the butler outfit took a step forward as he bowed his head and asserted in a firm tone:

"If that's what Master Lykus wants, this old fool can do this all day."

Even though his statement sounded over the top or should I say a bit... cringe! But one can see his eyes didn't lie and was brimming with determination.

After he gave me the brief, I smiled internally as I was quite accurate at my deduction.

Even though I was correct it was not something to be proud of, my deduction was purely based on logic and can easily be deduced by a person with some brains.

After I was done with my inner monologue, I looked at the two people who were the cause of all this chaos or should I say the scum in front of me.

The man's name is Ryan and from the information I got and from the flattering looks he gave me, I can deduce he is a famous...bootlicker, and one of my minions if I should say so myself. He is the type of person I hate the most.

He came here in an attempt to flatter me when a maid spilt some drinks over his clothes. And as a son of a noble, how can he let go of the matter so easily?

So he started to act like a bitchy noble he is, by demeaning her in front of all the other staff causing a huge ruckus and attracting the attention of this body's previous owner.

Thinking about all this stuff my gaze landed on the meek-looking maid involved in this mess. she appeared to be a 24-25 year old beauty with white hair and green eyes. When my eyes went over her body they unconsciously stopped at her breast, the only thought that came to my mind was...'Huge!'.

Since I don't want to come out as a pervert I didn't look at her breast for more than a second before looking straight into her eyes.

Just as our eyes met, something happened that made me ecstatic!

—Ding...

[ System Activating ]

[ Activation Sequence—147094B12 ]

[ Activation Time Required—72:43:29 ]

[ Cause: The host discovered one of the most important characters in the story: {The Last Of Legends} ]

[ Character Discovered— Ella Ross ]

As I read the information on the floating screen I realised one thing.

I got reincarnated in the novel I was reading, just before I died— [The Last of legends].

'System care to explain what my current identity is?'

I inquired about one of the most essential questions which dictate my survival odds in this power-hungry world.

But In actuality, I wasn't much apprehensive as I am the son of a noble and can live my life in luxury.

At least for the next 10 years.

However, that completely changed after I heard the answer.

[Host is now in the body of a Mid-Boss Villain—Lykus Ulfred.]

'Wait a minute it can't be..., I got reincarnated in the body of that human scum... Lykus Ulfred!'

It was not something I expected.

Lykus Ulfred, a mid-boss villain whose sole purpose in the story was to be a punching bag for the protagonist, just for him to rake in some exp, before advancing to take out the final boss.

An appetizer before the actual menu arrives!

A goddam Exp farm for the protagonist!

And the worst part is, even though Lykus is said to be a mid-boss villain, he couldn't even survive the first three volumes of the novel and died a miserable death.

Then why was he even considered a Mid-boss?

At first, he was just considered a minor villain whose job was to be Exp for the protagonist, however, that changed after the conspiracy regarding Clan Ulfred came into view with the involvement of the protagonist.

But, the sad part is, he was considered a Mid-boss villain after he died.

I don't know what the author was thinking by doing something like that, but I feel he did that to justify the escalation and length of the arc.

'Why did I have to be reincarnated into the body of such trash, can't I be reincarnated in the body of some other mid-boss villain.'

I wasn't upset about the fact that I was a villain.

Rather than a hero, I would be a villain.

Villains don't need to leave up to anyone's expectations and can follow the path of desire....at least to some extent.

So that leaves the question as to why was I upset? I was upset because I got reincarnated as Lykus Ulfred. Lykus was nothing more than a bully.

A human scum.

He had nothing special about himself, neither did he possessed high-ranked skills because of his his overall low-rank, nor did he awakened a class with practical use, even though his awakened class could be considered unique.

Heck! He didn't even have the potential to be a Clan Leader.

All in all, he had nothing other than his background.

Even when he died he was just a pitiful D rank.

However, that would be the case if I was the former Lykus and not the current Lykus which is me— Xavier!

A FREAKING MENTALIST!!!

'Now, let's play some mind games with a bit of manipulation to top it off...shall we...'
