29 Vasilie (2) - 27

"..."

"So you still remembered my face from your sister's coming of age party all those years ago?"

"I could never forget your face. After all, I could tell how much you loved your own sister from your dance, it was completely hypnotizing to my 7 year old self, you truly gave it your all."

'I was never able to receive that type of love.' Were the unspoken words that she transmitted to me.

"But, I've now learned who you truly are, and I will never see that dance in the same light ever again."

Saying this, she moved to her sword and picked it up.

"Woah, woah, woah! I haven't even awakened yet, and I will never in the future, so your worries about me being a demon are completely unfounded."

"Then how do you explain your eye?"

"I… I don't know…" I said, lowering my head.

And, although I knew that the chances of her attacking right now were incredibly slim, I still prepared my body in case she really did attack me.

But she didn't, and when I looked up, she was already gone.

Now, you might be wondering, how did I know that she wasn't going to attack me?

Well, it was simple really, after all, I knew her character in the novel. With that unfaltering sense of right and wrong in her, I knew that she would never attack as I would be considered a civilian instead of a demon at this point, supposedly having not awakened yet.

Only when she could confirm 100% that I had awakened would she then go on to take any action against me.

But now, talking about her character, I could only frown.

You see, in the novel, she had rarely spoken, so, why did she use more words than she would ever use in a year when she was talking to me just now?

Well, thinking for a little bit, I guessed I could only conclude that she was somehow moved by my dance with my sister, as that was basically the only piece of information she told about herself.

Shaking myself out of my thoughts, I took one last look at the door that Vasilie had disappeared into, before picking up my Miaodao and leaving the training building myself.

One Week Later:

I stood there as Char helped me put on my school uniform, meticulously checking to make sure that everything was perfect.

"It's fine, Char." I said, whilst pushing her probing hand away.

"It's not fine, Young Master, your appearance may determine everything from your friends to your position once you step into that horrid classroom."

"You talk as if those kids that have been sheltered all their lives can hurt me at all. Remember, I was, and still am, a political genius."

"It has been several years since you have touched politics, and many of the kids are not from a noble background."

"And will they still be able to beat me?"

"…"

"That's your answ… Cough! Cough! Cough!"

Bending whilst falling forwards, only to have Char catch me with her hand, I hacked violently as pink blood flew out of my mouth and sprayed all over Char's arm and the floor.

"Are you okay, Young Master?!" Asked Char, obviously worried.

Easing my coughing, I straightened myself back up, wiped my mouth with a handkerchief, and pushed Char's arm away from me.

"I'm fine, but it seems like the demonic seed in my body is trying to awaken."

Hearing this, Char's eyes widened, but she kept her composure.

"I'll be fine."

Walking to the door, leaving Char behind in the room, I stopped as I touched the handle.

"Please ask Father if I should still be attending the academy in this condition after I've started classes."

"Also, order a few more of those handkerchiefs. I have a feeling that we'll need them."

Not looking for a reply, I just left, turning my back, as I was once again reminded of how frail I was in both this world and its destiny.

And, what was the answer to all my problems?

Power, I needed more power.

Entering the classroom, I looked around and found that I was currently the only one there.

But, this was expected as I had arrived a full hour early, even the teacher would only arrive a solid 20 minutes before the class started.

Looking around, I was faced with the dilemma that almost all students in any education system faced, where should one sit?

If one sat in the front, then the teacher would pay more attention to them, so one would get away with less. Many viewed the students in the front row as teacher's pets. Also, this was where many antagonists sat and was often where side characters were placed.

Now, if one sat in the middle, then they would seem average in the eyes of the teacher, and they would be seen as not being neither a good or a bad student by the other students. Also, this was where all the mob characters sat.

Finally, there was the back row, which, in the eyes of the teacher, either meant you were a bad student, a delinquent, or you were a student that didn't want to be disturbed. From the view of the other students, you would be seen as an outcast, somebody that didn't belong. Of course, this was where the famous seat was.

So, after taking all of these facts into consideration, for me, this decision was a no brainer.

You see, the good thing was, the protagonist wasn't here, so I could take the protagonist's seat!

Taking me rightful place, I sat down in the back row next to the window, not being able to help but feel like the protagonist of a novel for a second.

'Ugh, snap out of your delusions, there's no way you're the protagonist of a novel. Right?'

Anyways, I just waited the whole hour until class started by placing my head down in my arms and closing my eyes, making sure to keep my senses on my surroundings.

Finally, as the bell rang, and classes started, I looked up, only to see a familiar face.

"Hello Class, my name is Ms. Reinhardt, and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of your stay at the Pantheon."

I observed as she looked around the classroom, before her eyes landed on me, widening after recognizing my face.

'Karina... long time no see.'

First, before you freak out over the word "announcement" that you can see out of the corner of your eye below, lemme tell you all something that will answer one of your burning questions.

The "__" has finally been introduced.

What?

Haha! You actually thought I would reveal something!

I'll let you ponder on that like the evil author that I am, hehehe...

Alright, time to get serious.

So, another announcement.

It seems like my dear sister has changed her plans.

Originally, she would've started releasing "The Author of Calamity" as her third and final novel for regular updates on the schedule.

But now, she's adamant on writing at least one slice of life novel.

The good thing is, knowing you guys, and what your fetishes are from the novels we're currently publishing, you wouldn't like a slice of life novel, would you...?

So, I was able to convince her to add a major action twist into the storyline, and now, we've perfected it.

Of course, a reminder, I never planned out any of my stories, I literally wrote the shit up as I typed.

But now, my sister is trying something different, and she's actually planning her novel (don't know if it'll work or not, never worked for me).

Anyways, as school is about to blow up with homework, we both know that we have to start stocking for the mass release of the third and last novel on my sister's account soon.

So, the date for the mass release will be two Sundays from now.

Obviously, today will be the title reveal.

As for the rest of this week, we'll be releasing drawings of the characters in the new novel each day, and next week, we'll be asking you for help naming some of the characters (rules for that will be posted next week).

Well, here's the title release:
