27 Vasilie (1) - 26

A/N: Like my sister said, just a reminder for those that don't read her novels, if you live in Asia, then most likely, both mine and my sister's chaps will be one day behind the schedule because we live in the U.S. and are one day behind Asian time.

"Would you like to spar?"

Turning around, I looked at Vasilie.

"I'd be no match for you. You have nothing to gain." I said, looking at her destroyed scarecrows to illustrate my point further.

"I'm bored."

A simple answer, but one that I understood fully.

After all, one of the reasons I had subjected myself to the pain of sparring with Char and Gwen over and over again without stopping was because I was afraid that I would be bored the moment I stopped.

Not needing any other words between us, we both moved to one of the sparring rooms.

Sheathing my miaodao, I hung it on the wall and picked up a wooden sword; on the other side of the arena, Vasilie did the same.

Getting into a stance, I studied hers.

After all, this would be a very informational fight for me as I would be able to fight against a new sword style, and so, I could grow my power.

Seeing that she just stood there, I knew that she was giving me the first attack as I was obviously weaker than her.

So, I attacked.

Using the most simple of sword techniques, I swung my sword down in a simple chop.

But, after she blocked it, our fight became nothing but normal.

We both started flowing around each other's sword strikes.

Tilting her sword down, my own sword slipped off the edge and I fell forward.

Bringing her own sword into a chop headed towards me head, I immediately parried her sword by swinging my sword in an arc and parrying it to the side, all from a half falling forward position.

Twisting like a ballerina, I used the leftover energy from the parry to spin and deliver another attack to her side.

"Clunk!"

Our swords met, and almost immediately afterwards, my sword had already slipped off of hers.

Parrying her attack at my legs after seeing through her feint, a surprised expression crossed over her face before disappearing just as quickly.

Figuring out that I would probably see through any and every feint she tried, she started attacking straightforwardly.

Reciprocating, both of us then continued the fight whilst only using the most basic of sword movements: the chop, the slash, the block, and the parry.

Nothing fancy happened for a while as our swords crossed each other over and over again.

Sweat started dripping down my chin, and my shirt was already soaked at this point, hindering my movements.

Jumping back, I took a second to rip it off, before rushing once again into her range.

"Crack!"

But that was a fatal mistake.

You see, I had realized long ago that Vasilie had been hitting the same exact spot on my sword all this time, wanting to chip away at its durability.

After I had jumped out to rip my shirt off, I had given her enough time to build up force in her arms, resulting in her next strike having enough power to crack my sword.

Watching the splinters from the wood and three quarters of my sword flying off, I narrowly dodged her next strike that had been aimed at my neck.

Jumping back once again, I stared at what was left of my sword.

Deciding that I didn't want to give up just yet, I changed the entirety of my stance and my grip on the handle of the now pseudo knife, as I held the dagger in a backhanded grip.

And with just that, my whole aura changed, as my instincts clicked into place with the activation of my stance.

A dark aura started spreading from me, as I, the Angel, finally descended on this world in partial form.

You see, if I were to compare my experience with a sword to my experience with a dagger, it would be like comparing a grain of rice to the Earth itself.

The dagger had been my only friend, my bloodletter, and my saving grace for so long that I didn't even need to think as I launched myself into an offensive.

I let my whole body relax and my eyes closed as I placed the entirety of my trust on this dagger.

"Clunk! Clunk! Clunk! Clunk! Clunk!"

I sent attack after attack at Vasilie, and finally, she started wavering.

Even though she had the range, weapon, and power advantage, she knew that she was losing.

My experience was just too monstrous after all.

She stopped holding back and started using the entirety of her strength, but I was always able to parry those powerful sword swings with my knife, after all, I had been able to deflect bullets with a knife back on Earth.

Finally, after getting close enough to destroy her range advantage and feel her breath on my face, I knew it was time to end this.

Slithering around her body, I finished the fight by placing my dagger at the base of her throat.

"I lost."

Hearing that, I immediately let her go and opened my eyes again.

She turned around to look at me, but the expression on her face threw me off.

I had expected her to be sullen or maybe happy at her defeat, but horror was an emotion that I had never expected.

She stared into my eyes for quite a while with that expression, before I realized that there was something wrong with me.

Looking at the one way mirrors that lined the sides of the training room, I studied my face.

And what I saw stopped me in my tracks.

Previously, I had thought that the wetness on my face had been from my sweat, but no, that definitely wasn't the case.

I saw a sight that I never thought I would see again.

My entire right eye was black, and black tears were falling out of it.

"So you're a demon, Lysander Endendyk."

Welp, cause the mass release is on Sunday, lemme reveal the next part about the soon to be released novel on the CryingSilence.

I've mentioned it already, but here's the name again if you missed it.

"VRMMORPG: EDEN"

As of right now, I have 3 chaps stocked for the mass release, and I'll try and write at least 7 chaps before mass releasing on Sunday.

Well, here's the synopsis reveal:

EDEN

The last frontier of mankind.

A VR game so immersive that many people decided to quit their jobs just to play the game.

And there was me, chosen as a beta tester, who never took advantage of this fact, and never played the game before the main release.

Believing that I could just buy everything with money, I entered the game and became a very successful man in the early stages.

But then, as time went on, people realized, everything you earned in the game could be transferred into reality resulting in The Garden Corporation controlling the world.

And I, who had bought everything my avatar owned, quickly became a piece of garbage in this new world.

Finally finding myself in a slave camp, forced to mine for ores 24/7 in the game, I eventually died from overwork.

But, when I opened my eyes, I found myself back to the day I first got chosen as a beta tester.
