16 Trust ( John)

"Speak now," the girl stood fearlessly before him, her composure setting her apart from the others. "Sir, I delivered the dress to the lady as instructed by her personal maid, and she told me to leave. I couldn't provide her with food, but I noticed there was water in the room. That's all I know," she spoke truthfully, and it was evident in her sincerity. Eleanor's maid, Meg, is the one who approached me to save Eleanor, but she must also be aware of the danger Eleanor is in. I need to locate that girl. I inquired of my men, "Where is she?" Initially, they remained silent. "We are trying to find her, sir," they eventually replied. I chuckled, thinking they must be joking.

Though I remained silent, my menacing presence conveyed a clear warning: "Find her, or prepare to face the wrath of the devil." The weight of my words ignited a furious response among them.

My instincts told me that locating the girl was imperative; there was an undeniable sense of danger permeating the air.

""My Lord! My Lord!" A voice cried out, its urgency echoing through the corridors. Someone approached, running and shouting, "The lady has awakened and is searching for you!" Taken aback, I quickened my pace, but before continuing, I pivoted and called out to my companion, "Find that girl immediately!" With determination, I swiftly made my way towards her room, moving with purpose. .I hurried towards her room, moving with a sense of urgency, though the need for a full-on sprint was unnecessary, as the situation did not call for it.

As I opened the door, my eyes first landed on the doctor, but swiftly shifted to Elenore lying in the bed. I rushed towards her, embracing her tightly. "Are you okay?" I asked, my concern evident. I turned to the doctor and anxiously inquired, "Is she alright?" Both the doctor and Elenore glanced at me, their expressions revealing the answer I sought.

Elenore assured me, saying, "I'm fine, but I really need some rest." I nodded understandingly at her, acknowledging her need for sleep. Then, I turned to the doctor and asked, "You mentioned there is much to be done. However, now that she is awake, I understand she needs to relax." The doctor nodded in agreement, affirming, "Yes, my Lord. It is crucial for her to unwind." Observing Elenore in that moment, she appeared fragile, akin to a delicate flower. Her countenance seemed broken, her face paler than usual, and her lips resembled a withered rose. Her eyes held a vacant, lifeless gaze, and her hair appeared lackluster. She exuded weariness, but despite that, I needed to inquire about the maid.

"Elenore," I murmured, unable to fathom how she could still appear beautiful in such a weakened state. "I need to know about your maid." I posed the question, observing as a radiant smile graced her face, akin to the sun breaking through the clouds. "You're referring to Meg," she replied, her voice filled with warmth. "She has always been fiercely loyal to me, loving me dearly." I studied her, marveling at the unwavering trust she had in this person. However, a thought crossed my mind, and I couldn't help but voice my concern. "But what if she is the one who poisoned you?" Elenore burst into laughter but abruptly stopped. "She's not that kind of person," she assured me. I pressed further, suggesting that Meg might have fled, but Elenore listened patiently, undeterred. "You can't trust her. She might have poisoned you. Remember what we discussed in the dining room. You said..." Before I could finish, Elenore interrupted me, her voice weary. "John, I'm truly exhausted. I called you because I needed to ensure you were okay. Right now, I need to sleep. I'm very sleepy." Despite her weariness, she smiled, her lovely face a testament to her resilience. I nodded in understanding, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, before slowly departing the room.

" Sir we find her" said Tom

" Show me the way tom" I need to know what is going on
