2 Choices

Death is simply the end of a journey.

Reincarnation is the price for another journey.

For someone who has unlimited price to pay, starting a journey was as easy as pinching a baby.

'Well, fuck, at least this journey wouldn't be with the same everything! Same stupid system prompt, same death and fuck! I hope I can change my identify!!'

He yelled inwardly as he felt a strong force pulling him down a path of nonetheless.

Only his soul was active and his mind is connected to his soul. His physical body can't enter a place like this. He is aware of this path, because he has taken it over one thousand times!

The force seized for a few seconds, and he felt the gravitational pull return to normal.

"Open your eyes." A voice commanded, it was masculine and with a lot of base.

Obeying, Ryder opened his eyes, greeted with a thick darkness and then lots of lights being emitted by the numerous windows that popped up around him.

They were hundreds, if not thousands of this window, each of them having different informations.

"You have arrived in the plain of choice, a place only accessible by souls who have nothing to lose anymore.." came the voice earlier.

"The informations you find in front of you are what would decide your fate in your world, pick one and your fate shall be altered." He explained.

Hearing this, Ryder was both surprised and happy, and also a bit fearful. Surprised and happy that he would be able to change his fate, fearful after reading the information on the first window in front of him.

[Slave of 2nd MC (Lang Lang )]

[Identify: A noble that loves been raped by monsters, has a special ability to bare everything, even the pain of death]

[Accept this choice: YES/ NO]

Ryder's expression was deadpanned, why the hell would this be the first one he would be seeing, seeing it has just ruined his mood x100.

'Imagine picking something like this.' The sheer thought of this was just plain abomination, the author must be really negatively creative to develop a character like that and the 2nd MC even took him as a slave!!

Well, away from that traumatizing sh*t, Ryder tilted his head to his right and stared at the window.

[Demonic monster: Can live for one thousand years, can switch between race]

..

[Awaken lightning skill]

After reading about ten, Ryder realized that his options were a lot and they were diversified as well.

For example, the first three were entirely different. He could reincarnate as a character in the novel, become a monster or remain as a stepping stone for the protagonist but with a lightning skills.

The others were plentiful and diverse as well. Some were enticing, some neutral, some traumatizing like the first.

"Which one should I pick, which one should I pick." Torn between thousands of choices, Ryder couldn't wrap his head around the right one to pick.

"You have limited time, you only have sixty seconds remaining!" Announced the voice.

"Fuck! Why didn't you inform me earlier!!"

Now he was forced to read faster in order not to miss the right one.

[Become a merchant: Special skill (Lies)]

[Become the son of the West sect: Important luck (Charm old women]

[Become the holy butterfly of the sect miss]

[Become blacksmith]

"You have thirty seconds remaining"

Ryder paid no heed to the voice this time, he scanned through everything as fast as he could, only reading the titles and ignoring the details.

He read so fast that his vision became blurry, his head ached badly. Mind also running with different thoughts.

This was normally a problem, let say, we all got a chance to reincarnate in this earth once again and we are tied in a situation like this.

There are thousands of choices, become a celebrity, become the son of the wealthiest man, become the man that would discover an element that would momentarily boost this world!

There are so many bad ones too, outweighing the good ones.

Why not take all? You may ask!

But everything just happen to have a limit of 1, you have just one choice! What would you pick?

"You have 5 seconds remaining, note, if you don't pick, the system will run a random picker for you and you will have no chance to reject the choice."

Ryder gritted his teeth, he began his countdown in his head.

He felt like he was struck between a moment of life and death, one wrong choice means death, the right choice is otherwise.

But then his eyes found one that didn't look too bad.

He immediately clicked {YES} and his choice was registered.

"Congratulations, your choice has been made! Your fate would he altered immediately but note, Your Karmic Luck has been traded for this."

As a reader, Liam understood what that meant and he couldn't help but stare wide eyed at the darkness wrapped around him as the windows disappeared.

But before he could complain, a surge of energy enveloped Ryder, swirling around him like a vortex. It felt like being caught in a whirlwind, it dragged him down into a void that momentarily developed beneath him.
