Chapter 34 (Asami)

The sniper aims at the girl and locks the target.

When he was about to pull the trigger, he saw the eyes of Yamato looking directly into the scope.

"Sir, do you copy?"

"Yes sector 1. What is it?"

"I think our disguise is ruined."

"What do you mean?"

"I suspect the man with the lady that he know we are here."

"That's absurd! There is no way. You are just imagining."

"But sir, he's looking directly into my eyes."

"Don't overthink. He might be lost in a thought. Just do your job and kill the target."

"Okay, sir, I'll assassinate her immediately."

He turns off his mic and proceeds to target.

"Yamato, you heard what he said?" Akari asked.

"Yeah, but...we roughly have 10 seconds. What do we do?"

"What do you mean? You can just catch the bullet, right?"

"That would be too unnatural."

"Yeah, you have a lot of time to plan,, so you should think hard."

"You make it sound like I am the only one with a brain."

"I don't have a physical body anyway."

"Yeah, anyway back to the problem. How do I stop it..."

"Mind If I interrupt?" The sage says.

"OH YOU ARE ALSO HERE, I JUST REALIZED."

*Strike*

"OUCH!"

"Anyway, so I have a plan. It may be painful, but in my opinion that's the only easy way."

"Okay, say it."

"Your hand is bleeding right now, right?"

"Yeah, what of it?"

"How about stopping the bullet by hardening your skin? You can hide the deflected bullet easily."

"That's... a great idea and also a little violent. So I have to harden my skin and use my arm as a shield and make my blood go to the place where the bullet hit to make it feel like it got in?"

"Exactly. So store your mana on your arm and make it as hard as metal. Don't let the force get you, or this would be for nothing."

"Roger that."

Yamato, in a millisecond, puts all his mana and hardens it making an invisible shield to cover his arm.

"Perfect."

*This all happened in 7 seconds.*

"Firing now." Sector 1 says.

*BANG!*

A low sound comes due to the silencer and the bullet moves directly towards the aimed place which was her head.

Yamato tracks the bullet and as it's about to reach the girl, he uses his arm to deflect it and catches the bullet.

"ACT LIKE IT HIT YOU!" Akari says

"No, not yet, there is someone with a gun in the crowd too."

Yamato, holding his arm covered with blood, gently pushes the girl away from the mic and announces.

"A GUY IN A BLACK COAT, BLUE CAP AND BLACK PANTS. BROWN EYES AND PROBABLY 24 AGE. GUARDS DON'T LET HIM RUN AWAY!"

The man who Yamato described tries to run but fails to and gets captured by the guards.

"HOLD HIM STILL." Yamato yells.

He then uses his bloodlust on him a little, which made him vomit blood.

His body got frail immediately and he passed out.

Because of the commotion, none really looked into it at that time, and the boy was taken for interrogation.

The people were evacuated, and the van rushed away.

"The one on the ceiling, I prefer you to give up." Yamato says .

"Alright, I'm coming."

The guards also arrested him and took him away.

*Tap tap*

"Huh? Oh, it's you." Yamato says as he looks behind.

"Yeah, you saved me twice today, thanks for that. And I never got your name, so if you may." She says.

"No problem, and my name is Matsume Yamato, what about you?"

"I am Asami. And I by the way, how were you able to do that?"

"Do what?"

"I knew your hand was bleeding,, so it's obvious that the bullet didn't even reach you. How did you do it?"

"Uh.."

'AKARI, MISS SAGE, HELP!!!'

"Sorry, there is no running Away from this. It's inevitable this time." Both The replies.

"You guys are so cold. Isn't there a brainwashing magic?"

"There is,, but you are not good enough to use it now." Akari replies.

"Hey Yamato, how about we first get your scar a bandage and talk somewhere else."

Asami says

"Okay..."

Akari launches a self-heal spell on Yamato which instantly healed the scar, leaving no sign behind.

"What the..." Both Yamato and Asami said.

"AKARI YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME NOT RUIN IT!"

"Yamato...what was that?"

'i'm totally busted now. There is no any other choice.'

"Ma'am Asami, let's have a talk somewhere else.

"Okay."

They both went out of the hall and walked together to the exit and met Yamato's mom coincidentally.

"Oh Yamato, where are you going? And...why's Miss Asami with you?" She asked.

"Oh, we are just...."

"We are just going out for a walk. I just got interested in this kiddo,, so I wanted to speak with him. We'll get going for now, so we'll see you later, bye." Asami says and drags Yamato out.

"Quick thinking.."

"Not quicker than you. You calculated a plan in mere 10 seconds, after all."

"You could tell?"

"Yeah, your face told it."

They both went to the cafeteria right outside the massive building and started their talk.

"So, the answer to my question?"

"I think you have the basic idea."

"Hmm....the new masked guy?"

"Exactly."

"Wait seriously?"

"Yeah, I'm that mysterious masked guy."

"The one with superfast speed and stuff."

"I also have magic."

"Oh...does anyone else know about it?"

"Not really. You are probably the first person. In humans at least. The beasts can just sense my presence."

"Sense your presence? That's new to me. So, how does it feel to have all this power?"

"Well....the responsibility is high. I mean, if I fail and get defeated by someone, I'm going to be the one who's the cause of anything that happens afterwards."

"Yeah, that is something relatable. And how about your powers? What do you feel when you use them?"

"Well, if I use magic, I feel a warm ray type thing traveling along my body accordingly. And if I use my senses, I can visualize the area in x-ray type or if something like a high-level monster is coming, I can see the aura and emotions leaking out of it. That's how I can differentiate between the power."

"That feels weird. You have to take the responsibility for not surviving and have to keep on battling. That must be tough. Anyway, were you always like this?"

"I wasn't always like this. It's just one day someone decided to use me as a vessel,, and now she's protecting me from harm and assisting me. If I use my speed without her, I might be burnt to ashes because she builds a barrier to keep the heat away, as a normal human can't endure such high pressure."

"Wait, you have another person living in you?"

"Yeah, it's an actual Spirit."

"I'm getting more and more interested in you."

"If you want to live than I suggest you to stay away."

"Staying away is boring, so..... how about I come along with you?"

"There's no way you can. You will feel so left behind."

"I won't. I'll been joining you, so be ready."

"Don't joke haha...."

"I'm not" she says with a wink.

"Right now, I have to do a lot of stuff, and the first thing is assembling an army."

"Don't worry, I won't bother you or be a pain in the butt in those tasks. I'll just spectate or even take those trainings."

"Well there are some places where you cannot spectate me."

"Like?"

"The gate in the dungeon."

"There's a gate? Where does it lead to?"

"To the other side."

"Where?*

"The world of the invaders."

"Oh, and you are planning to go there?"

"Yeah, it is dangerous,, but I have to if I want to stop these filthy kings."

"Kings?"

"They a---"

As Yamato was about to tell the whole thing, her butler came to her and said

"Ma'am, I'm sorry to interrupt your talk but the cars are waiting for you outside so if you could please come with us."

"Oh yes, sorry for making you wait. I'll come right away."

"Thank you."

"And Yamato, I'll meet you tomorrow."

Yamato looked at her as she said that.

He was confused at first,, but he understood later on what she meant.

"My life is getting unbalanced so fast.."
