Chapter 11 (The Duel Of Future)

The path to the shrine was through a deep forest where chances of getting lost were pretty high for a level 4 fighter. But as Akari was level 7, it wasn't that much of a big deal for her.

"This forest is huge and mysteriously silent. Does anyone even live here?"

As she was walking her way to the shrine, she met up with a group of monsters. They were beast level and 5 in total. Even a level 5 would find it hard to break through those monsters. Akari drew her sword towards them and started to fight.

"Come and aid me the spirits of fire. FIRE BLAST." she recited the spell and summoned 6 medium-level fireballs which took down every beast.

"That was some boring play. Even a level 3 fighter would be stronger than that haha." she laughed.

She continued to go towards the shrine by climbing and jumping over the trees to save a little bit of her time.

Suddenly she felt a very strong and a little dense auro beneath her.

It was a monster but not any ordinary one, It was a lion-type monster. One of the most powerful types and it took a shape of a white tiger

The mama flowing from it was too much even for a level 6 warrior and seemed like a perfect match for Akari.

She climbed off the tree and stood in front of the monster.

"I challenge you to a life-death duel. Feel worthy to be my opponent and be ready." sha said

The monster roared and dashed towards Akari at an insane speed, disobeying the flow of air zooming towards Akari.

"Fast but not the fastest. You are slow." she said and dodged the attack easily.

The tiger hit the tree and it's skin was hard enough to crack the hard tree

"Pfft, now its my turn. Do me a favor and don't die easily 'kay?"

Akari dashed towards the tiger at a speed that made her almost invisible and the tiger couldn't see until he was smashed with the super punch of Akari.

*SMASH*

The tiger went flying and he was near-dead when something weird occurred and instead of dying he ultimately awakened.

"Hey hey hey did you come from a visit to shrine?. Damnit this is trouble. It looks like a demon-level monster. I don't know if I can take it out."

The tiger transformed into a golden tiger with his eyes flashing and his paws hard as steel and his body unbreakable like obsidian.

"I.....AM.....GONNA.....KILL....YOU." he said

"DID HE TALK? Dude awakening is super cool. Anyways gotta hurry and kill this bastard."

"O THE SPIRITS OF FIRE AND BOLT. REACT UPON OUR CONTRACT AND COMBINE WITH EACH OTHER AND LEND ME THE STRENGTH TO KILL THIS DEMON. FIREBOLT."

As she recited the spell, a high-level rain of flames combined with lightning summoned and hit the golden tiger with full force. As it was happening, Akari, making all her mana flow in her body strengthened to level 9 near-demon and punched the tiger with her full force.

*SMASH* The head of the tiger dislocated from her body and was thus dead.

"Victory is mine! Better luck next time."

Akari again started to head towards the shrine which was now close enough to be able to see, though it was under an illusion spell that would make it hard to notice.

"The shrine...is kinda small..."

As she was just some 500 meters away she sensed a presence of a level 6 swordsman.

"Show yourself before I drag you out." she said

"Oh, I didn't mean to hide from you. I was just spying..." a voice came among the trees.

Then a young guy comes out of the trees. He looked like an assassin who had mastered sword art.

"Doesn't make it better. Saying you were spying makes it even more suspicious." she said.

"OH YEAH, YOU ARE RIGHT!"

"My whole opinion about him is changed...he is pretty dumb."

"Let me try again. I was spying cuz I saw your fight with the demonic beast earlier." he said

"You mean you saw everything?" Akari nervously said.

"If you mean your transformation by everything then yes. Don't worry i wasn't spying to trick you or anything. I was just scared to get in front of you. You couldn't feel my presence because of my assassin skill " he said

"So what are your terms? You know what I am talking about."

"If it's about keeping your transformation a secret then my terms are for you to let me in your team." he said with a smile.

"Uhh, whatever just don't slow me down." Akari responded

"Don't worry and i guarantee that you will need my assistance soon." he said

The both of them went to the shrine where they saw about 20 strong warriors arguing with each other that who would receive the awakening. The issue was that every year only 2 people can get it and there were 20 in total who went through a long journey to receive it.

"Let me take it as I got earlier." said one of them.

"That doesn't make it yours." said the other said

After some time one of the most powerful among them probably of level 8 got up and said

"If we keep on arguing over it like this, we won't reach any conclusion. How about we solve it like warriors. How about a dual? We can make 2 batches and each of them consists of 10 making a dual and fighting 5 matches."

"Yes. YEs. Sure It will make it easier and the worthy one will only get the awakening." everyone said.

"Yes saying that cuz he thinks of himself as the strongest." Akari said to her teammate.

"Yes you are right." he said

"Oh by the way we haven't introduced ourselves right?" Akari said

"Oh yes, my sincere apologies. My name is Yahiro. I am from the mage race but mastered stealth and sword art. I am about level 6. Nice to meet you." Yahiro said.

"I am Akira. A spirit who has mastered the spirit art and magic. I am level 7 and with transformation level 9 though i can't hold it for long. Nice to meet you too." Akari replied

Now the duel match was decided and teams were formed where Akari and Yahiro were on different batches.

"LET'S START THE MATCH WARRIORS." The elder shouted..
