Chapter 35 Some space to think

Since Li Fei was a renowned model, she used to earn quite big from her endorsements. "Please Mom, accept it. I want to help you too," she said as she placed the card in her hand and continued," And also Mom, I would like to inform you that I am not going to stay with you for sometime because I need some space to think and get my life together. Therefore I will be leaving tomorrow" Yi Mei looked displeased at that and asked," Do you really have to go? And tomorrow? You've just gotten home. Why don't you go maybe after a month or two?" "I'm afraid I can't wait Mom. I need to do it soon but don't worry, I will take care of myself and communicate," she assured before saying," I will go to the living room to find my friends."

As the three were conversing, Li Fei let them know that she was going back to Shanghai the next day. "So you're going to be living in Shanghai?" asked Liling and Li Fei nodded before saying," Yes. I will live in Shanghai for sometime." "Then I will live in Shanghai too. I will get a condo and look for a job there. Let's stay together," Liling suggested.

"I will tell you later, Liling," she said. All this while, Caihong had a grim expression on his face.

A while later, Caihong decided to leave and Liling stayed behind since she was going with Li Fei to Shanghai. "At least give me your contact," he said when they reached his car.

"Honestly, I don't have a phone. I'm not allowed to have it," she told him with due sincerity. "Yet you still accept to stay with him?" he asked. "I thought we already talked about this Caihong," said Li Fei before asking," So, where are you going?" "I will go to Shenzhen. I will figure out what to do later," he said. "You're not going back to that place?" she asked. He shook his head before saying," No. I had wanted to leave long time ago but then I changed my mind the moment I saw you. But now that you left, I see no reason for me to stay there." Li nodded in understanding. "I don't know when I will be seeing you again but I hope it to be soon. I'm always available whenever you consider my proposal," he said before entering his car and started it.

Li Fei sensed that he wasn't pleased with her decision but she didn't have any other option.

After making sure that Liling was settled in the guest room, Li Fei went to her room and found her mother. Sitting next to her, she said," I know you want to say something, Mom." She said," Yes. I want to talk about Hu Feng. He's been waiting for you so I want to know if you're still considering him. By the way I saw it, the doctor looks to be interested in you." "Doctor Caihong is only a friend Mom. And about Hu Feng..." After telling her what Liu Han told her in prison, Li Mei said," How so? For as long as I remember, Hu Feng has been so supportive and multiple times he offered us his help but it is us that rejected." "I don't know if she lied to me but I think it's only safe if I stay away from him because I don't want the news of my release out for now. Mom, how is Kim Nana and Hun Ting?" she asked referring to her friends with whom she got involved in the accident.

"Kim Nana is fine. I heard that she's soon getting married whereas Hun Ting and her family decided to move to Japan," she explained and Li Fei nodded in understanding.

Marriage. She wondered if she will ever get that considering how her life was messed up right now. At night, Li Fei lay in her bed and she remembered that she had to go back to Jin Liwei's house. She closed her eyes and slept.

Early morning, the four sat at the dining table having their breakfast. "At what time are you leaving, Li Fei?" asked her father since Li Mei had informed him about Li Fei's decision of leaving home for sometime. "Around two or three," she answered as she took a sip on water. "Okay. When shall we get to see you again?" he asked again. "I don't know that either but I will try to make it soon." "Okay. I realized that you've grown up to be more responsible over the years. So I trust that you will take care of yourself," he told her and she smiled.

When it clocked one, she started getting a few things she thought she would need. After, she found her parents in the living room waiting to see her off and her father said," You didn't give us your contact." "I haven't gotten the time to buy a phone but once I do, I will call you," she assured them. "You don't have to go," her mother said sadly. "I will be back Mom. You shouldn't worry," she assured her.

Inside the plane, Li Fei informed Liling that she was going to stay at Jin Liwei's house. "What are you talking about?!" she exclaimed. "I'm not yet freed. He wants me there." "And you're going just like that?" "Do I have any other option? It isn't like he hurt me, at least not yet. Listen, Liling. I don't want to owe him anything else because that would mean him taking it out on my parents," she said. "Okay. But still, I will stay in Shanghai so that I take a closer look at you. You shouldn't allow him to abuse you in anyway and don't tolerate any indecent requests," Liling warned. "Luckily, he has not done anything like that," she said.

Liling decided to spend the night in a motel then start looking for a condo the next day.

Li Fei got a cab that took her straight to Jin Liwei's house. On entering the gate, she caught sight of a black Audi that was parked in the compound and it made her wonder if Jin Liwei was home already. She passed by it and headed inside the Villa.

Jin Liwei who had just come back from work was still in the car finalising with some things saw that Li Fei was back and he noticed that she seemed to be sad as her eyes were downcast. He knew that it was probably because of the house she found her parents living in and their financial condition.
