She's Freaking Four

"You mean to tell me there were over four dozen guards standing around the vehicle and a couple more of your men spread across the compound, and not a single one of them could even notice a child... a little girl find her way into the limousine where my son, the heir of this pack, your future Alpha was supposed to take a ride in to school?! What more If a real enemy had attempted to do the same? Just how incompetent can you be?" Ravenna's voice was loud and filled with anger and spite as she glared at Donald standing before her with a grim expression on his face.

Donald Ambien was the current Head Pack warrior of Night Howlers pack. At a height of 6'9, he stood mightily tall and intimidating over all the members of the pack. But It wasn't just his height that earned him his prestigious title. It was his resilience, his strength and quick wits. He had been a loyal member of the pack, serving as a pack warrior to the previous Alpha from a young age of 12 and at 27, was one of the strongest werewolves in the pack and rumored to be so powerful, he could personally snap the jaws of a rogue with ease.

Giving his height and bulging muscles which the linen of his uniform accentuated perfectly, It wouldn't be hard to believe.

But as he stood before his Luna, his face was grim and cold under her merciless glare and spiteful voice. He felt so ashamed, confused and disappointed. How was that even possible? He kept asking himself.

His eyes would occasionally move to the mother and daughter who were standing on the other side of the room, waiting to be addressed by the Luna. His eyes settled discreetly on the girl who was just standing there, her huge eyes taking everything within her sight with awe.

He was certain that all doors to the limousine had even been locked shut until Master Ares had come down to the vehicle. He was the closest to the vehicle, he would have at least sniffed her scent out. It didn't make sense, but what could he say? What could he do? Interrogate a four year old child?

Suddenly, It was as If Ruby could sense his eyes on her and turned to him and he suddenly drew his gaze away when those frightening familiar blue eyes landed on him.

"Leave..." Ravenna said when she was done with him, her chest heaving with anger as she glared at the man. Donald bowed sightly, his eyes still wide open from the shock of what had happened earlier as he was still processing it.

"This won't happen again, Luna. We were careless and thoughtless. Do forgive us." With the grim, cold expression still etched on his face he walked away after stealing a glance at Arisa who had her head down the entire time like she wasn't even part of the conversation.

Something about mother and daughter pair just didn't sit right with him. He was going to keep an eye on them even If he had to do It himself.

As Ravenna glared at his retreating back, her hands suddenly turned to fists as she remembered the mother daughter pair in the room with her.

"Arisa... was it?" With a sneer, she turned to the woman whose head was bowed to the ground as she avoided her gaze. Ravenna liked that. She liked that she had this such influence and power over her.

"Yes, Luna."

"When Olivia had told me you'd be working while with a child, I did have objections towards it until I just decided to make a exception. But now, It seems I have to take back my word. Your daughter has already caused enough trouble in one day. She's a menace and cannot stay here."

The next moment, Arisa dropped heavily to her knees before throwing her head and hands to the ground, feeling rage course through her veins as her nose and lips brushed against the floor just before she let out a plea. "Please, Luna. It was mistake and carelessness. I was negligent and should have been watching her."

"Did you forget you also have other duties other than watching her? This is not some charity shelter, you came here for the sole purpose of serving the Alpha and Luna. Your daughter comes second."

Ruby just stood there, confused, yet not moving from her spot. She however turned to Ravenna and her eyes turned cold on seeing the smug look the evil Luna had on while staring down at her mother who was bowing to her on the ground like she was worshipping her.

I really do not like this woman. Who is she to treat my mummy this way?

However, she was sensible enough to know whatever moves she made now would not be appreciated by her mother, so she just trusted Arisa in this and just stood there.

"I understand, Luna. We're just settling in. Once she starts school, everything will fall back in place and you wouldn't have to worry about her. I promise you, Ruby is not like that."

Ravenna finally turned her attention on the girl. The girl that had been so bold to talk back to her mate, the Alpha, so fearlessly yesterday. She finally took in her appearance and reluctantly agreed that the girl was ethereally beautiful, like she hadn't even been born in this world and had just been sent down directly to earth from the moon goddess.

Ruby returned her gaze with a calm one, not even wavering or blinking unlike Ravenna had expected, stunning the woman the more.

"You..." Arisa raised her head, still in her kneeling position, only to realize Ravenna wasn't referring to her but her daughter. "Are you going to finally tell us how you were able to get past the guards and into my son's vehicle? Do you realize you committed a heinous crime and should be punished?"

Arisa was stunned. Her daughter may not be as innocent as she seemed sometimes, but to everyone in general, she was freaking four!

Arisa was just about saying something, but Ravenna raised a hand in the air to silence her, her gaze not leaving Ruby's.

The Luna's gaze turned curious as she tilted her head slightly, like she was trying to look at the girl from another angle. "You will not speak. I was talking to her, not you."

But Ruby said nothing, just calmly returning her Luna's gaze unblinkingly.

Ravenna slowly lowered her hand, her eyes turning cold, a cruel smirk on her lips. "You can't talk now? When you were talking back at your Alpha yesterday, you seemed so bold. What happened now, huh?"

Ruby still said nothing, and It only seemed to irritate Ravenna even more. She resisted grabbing the girl and stabbing two fingers right into those eyes which so daringly stared right into hers.

She finally turned to Arisa. "Get this thing away from me. She should start school soonest tomorrow and If I hear any more news about her like this one, I will forget she's a child and deal with her personally."

As they left, Ravenna used the mind link to call someone in and in no time, Donald was back in the room.

"I don't have to tell you what next to do, right?"

"I've already made preparations for an eye to be kept on them both, and I will personally do so too."

"I don't want that girl anywhere near my son. Keep them under constant surveillance and make sure they don't cross paths. If they try anything, I want you to handle it without hesitation. Do whatever it takes to protect my son and our pack's interests. Understood?"

"Yes Luna. Consider it done. Our pack's safety is my utmost priority."
