Chapter 2: Monica's Has A Dream!!!

My parents did not talk about me going to a public school for a long time, till I was bold enough to ask them... I was about 14 years old by then I think, cause I was homeschooled throughout the last 2 years since the accident that occurred in my school during the relay race. I was getting what I was taught though, but trust me it was getting boring; no competition, no one to compete with me, no noise during classes, I get 100 marks complete, 100% in all my subjects sometimes 99%, it was boring.

I asked them about it and it was something that I almost wished that I didn't ask. The way my dad reacted was horrifying and, all my mum could do was to cry as she remembered how she almost lost me back then in the hospital. The glare that my dad gave me was more than frightening, as I literally watched the colour of his change. I saw them change from a light fire-opal colour to a Vampire Red! I froze as it felt like the blood in my body from my head till my feet ran cold.

My mum just started crying even more, then my dad stopped looking at me and I could feel myself relax like some kind of power just stopped grabbing me. Although I don't know if I should blame myself, or my dad, or my mum, cause I didn't even know what was going on at the time. Although I don't blame my dad but yet, I do find it quite suspicious how they have been arguing over me, ever since I blacked out in the relay race competition. They keep talking about a disease that the doctor said that I was suffering from because of the fatal hit. I can't remember the name of the illness obviously, but i remember that it makes my brain unable to control my motor reflexes when I try to exceed the normal limit; I guess?

They also talked about how they needed to come up with the money soon, in order to pay for the surgery. I think that was the reason behind my dad's bloodcurdling attitude lately. The whole house was boring when my dad left the house to go work. And to worsen things up, I didn't like going outside because our neighbours usually call me and my mum witches; mostly me though. So as you can guess, I was so bored that even watching the television didn't even help at all; it barely made my day any interesting. I had finished all my books, my mum's books, my dad's books, in summary, I had finished all the books in the entire house; both the interesting and the boring, lifeless soul-sucking ones. And I requested for new ones, but my dad kept on prolonging the date when we would go get new ones.

Even if I had liked my neighboures for some awkward reason, I would still be grounded if I was caught outside the house walking, strolling, and the worst of them all; running. I remember one time when I went to pick up my book that flew out the window as it was windy that afternoon, and I ran down the stairs to catch it before it flew out of sight. My Mum and Dad were watching TV and immediately they saw me run past them, they started shouting at me for even trying to run after something that quickly. I eventually caught the book before it flew into the river nearby, but on reaching the house I received the warning if a lifetime. My father warned me seriously, constantly warning me of the negative outcomes of running and tripping or something else. He told me that all these would literally make my mum to drop on the floor at that instant out of shock. I wanted to go somewhere else that day but my dad gave strict instructions on my absence from the house at any given point in time is absolutely unacceptable. He wanted to buy a brand new housenas he was tired of paying rent but, he needed more money to do that, so I prayed, I was done living in that kind of environment. I prayed for a whole week for my dad to get a better job somewhere away from here and, my prayers were answered.

There was a Job that my mum told him to apply for, caused it was an online job and he got the job! We were all excited, then I asked him where he would be going to begin his new work. And, I was overjoyed to hear him say that " We would be going to Egypt, so I can see your beautiful faces everyday I wake up from bed. ". I did not know if it was the fact that he said Egypt, or the fact that he said he would love to see my face and my mum's face too, everyday he wakes up.

That weekend, we packed our things and began our journey to Egypt as he was to start the following week. I saw pyramids, camels( they look a bit different from cartoons), and a bunch of other stuff. I loved the new environment even though it was hotter most of the time. But what grabbed my attention was the house that we were to live in. It was more of a mansion in a huge expanse of land, it should have taken us about 5 minutes to drive in from the gate of the whole area to the main building's door.

I won't lie, the place was even better than anything that I would have even imagined. We alighted the vehicle and went through the main entrance and Dad gave me and mum a quick tour of the mansion, like he had been living there for a long time. Mum yawned cause she was getting tired, dad said we should take a break saying that the rest would be shown to us after we were went to our rooms and had our baths as the dusk of the day was approaching us. Luckily for us, the rooms were not as large as the rest of the house; so we could easily locate the bathrooms.

I've just finished having my bath, putting on my simple Green T-shirt which my dad gave me, and my White Shorts with my white furry slippers. I just came out of my room to try locating any interesting place that I could choose as my new reading library. I went down the hall down the left, after the corridor where my room was in. My mouth was wide open as I gasped in surprise; there was a gigantic library right in front of me. It was about the height of a two-storey building, I took the stairs and went to the roof of the library which was open for those who loved to read during the nighttime. It automatically became my favourite place in the house, it was a mobile library which had several options of genres to choose from, it had more than a million books in store, and I was flabbergasted. It also had a section where there were books of different page lengths and, they were empty. I'm guessing that they are for people that write stories. This was book heaven, I wanted to just faint on the spot.

Soon enough my dad who has been calling my phone for a while found me in the library reading. Dinner was ready and I was not hungry at all. All I wanted to do was to go back to the library and finish more books. I had this feeling of discomfort whenever I found a book that I haven't read yet. My dad agreed but told me to go back to my room thereafter. I read for hours without even knowing it, I finished three storybooks before nightfall; of each I think an average of 2,350 pages. I could hear echoes of my dad laughing with my mum, I couldn't leave the book I was reading and go find out what going on.

We all had a great time that day, I actually wanted to start reading a book which I think was titled "The Last Phoenix Descendant". The main reason I was reading sci-fi and fantasy books was because I wanted to find out if my dad was a Vampire or some kind of supernatural being. My dad has his good times and his bad times, but the main reason that I always try not to anger him is because he gives off this scary aura. When he stares at me, his eyes change colour from a bright fire-orange opal colour to a sparking bloodshot-red colour. I get so scared, that I feel my blood freeze from my feet to my head. It's like he's about to.... I don't know, suck my blood or slash me into pieces. I was..... just so eager to know what was going on behind the scenes in my dad's life, if he had some kind of power. Little did she know that she would discover what would shock her to her bloodstream.🙃

It's morning and Monica is still asleep in her room, due to the late night reading. She hears a magical tune ringing in her dream, slowly turning to a beautiful female voice humming a song she seems to find familiar. Even though she knows she hasn't heard it before. The humming goes on and on, till she seeks out to find who this person is. She is in a forest which seems ancient in a way, she's walking through to the sound without even being afraid of getting lost; like she had been there a hundred times. She finally makes it to the person and to her uttermost shock, she finds out that the strange magical lady is her! She actually looks like her!

"Ahhhh! What kind of a dream is that supposed to be?" She screamed. She screamed in shock as she saw herself surrounded by a heavenly golden aura, singing a song she does not seem to recall. The girl that looked like her was dancing with the stars and constellations in her dream. Could that be a revelation of what she was to become? Or could that just be a random dream formed by reading too much sci-fi and fantasy books?

See you in the next chapter.🤗🤗🤗
