1 Chapter 1

A body, seemingly human, stood in an alcove, nails protruding through every limb, with chains wrapped around as if to restrain the body.

"What in the heck? I came for treasure, not a dead body." Vale said as he walked over and then wrinkled his nose in disgust.

Decay and death. The smell of the corpse made him shudder.

'I've seen a dead body before, but it wasn't so far along like this.' Vale looked at the emaciated figure whose bones were visible beneath the wrinkled and dried out skin.

Vale searched the room and then sighed in resignation.

"There really wasn't a treasure. Fuck!" Vale cursed as he kicked a small box away in anger.

"Fine, I'm leaving. Damn useless map." Vale walked over to a rope that seemingly hung from the darkness above.

After setting the flash light down, he grabbed the rope and prepared to climb out when he heard a noise behind him.

With a curious look, he turned in time to see the corpse raise it's head.

"Oh fuck!" He grabbed the rope and begun to climb, however a hoarse and unpleasant voice stopped him.

"Wait... please..." The body straightened itself and the eyes opened, exposing bright crimson eyes that seemed to be able to mesmerize people.

"Y-you! What are you?" Vale asked, his hand still holding the rope in the event that he needed to flee.

"I'm not human... I'm a vampire..." The being said, and Vale frowned.

"Then why do you need my help? I won't help you, you could probably kill me at any time if you were free." Vale looked into the crimson pupils and realized that the beings pupils were vertical.

"I swear... to never harm you... if you free me." Looking at the apparently dead but not so dead corpse speaking, he furrowed his brows.

"If vampires exist, do werewolves exist as well?" Vale asked and to is surprise, the vampire nodded.

"Our enemies..." Vale frowned hearing the vampire using the word our.

"I might find vampires cool, but they kinda suck since they can't even walk in the sun without burning. Besides, if this world has supernatural forces, I can't afford to be caught up in some millennia long war." Vale reached down and grabbed his flashlight and placed it into his bag.

Giving the vampire one last look, he grabbed the rope and started climbing.

"I can... grant you... immortality... and a way... to walk under the sun."

Vale hesitated as he gave the vampire another look. He couldn't read the vampire's face as it's facial features had long since deteriorated.

"Okay, say I accept being turned into a vampire, will I also look like you, because if I do, my answer is a resounding hell no."

"Vampires... as able to bewitch mortals... with their beauty and grace..." Hearing the vampire, Vale walked back over and held out a bottle of water.

"You sound thirsty." However as soon as he offered the bottle, he took it back with a curious look.

"Do you need blood to fix yourself? If you leave looking like that, I wouldn't be surprised if someone shot you thinking you were a zombie."

"I need a cup of blood... If you free me, I will dedicate... myself to you..." Hearing the vampire, Vale cringed.

"Um, no it's fine, so how do I help you? Do I pull the nails out? What about the chains?"

"There's a lever... Pull it... and I'll be free..." Vale nodded and turned and found the lever with little effort.

His hands shook as he placed them on the lever, and after a deep breath, he pulled it.
