586 586. Deep Sleep

Mauve tossed and turned. Was it because she had practically not eaten all day? Not to mention she had only been able to eat a little in the past couple of days. She wondered if that contributed to her restlessness.

"Can't sleep?" His voice reached her ears and he pulled her close to himself.

Mauve nodded and clung to him. "I don't know. I feel very restless, hot too."

"Isn't my skin cold enough for you?" He asked.

"It is," she tried to smile but failed miserably. She was uncomfortable in a way she couldn't explain.

"Relax, okay," he said. "If you need anything, I am right here."

She nodded and tried to close her eyes to sleep, moving closer to Jael but it didn't help. She sat up immediately and looked around.

Jael immediately looked concerned, "Do you want me to call Jean?"

She shook her head. "I just can't sleep."

"I can stay awake with you, just try to calm down. You look like a rat that's caught in a cage."
