580. Symptoms Persist
Mauve sat at the dinner table with Louis sitting across her and staring at her with an odd expression on his face.
She could tell he had a lot he wanted to say to her and she could tell it wasn't good. Mauve swallowed and looked away, wondering what she may have done wrong.
But Louis wasn't the only one staring at her. Everyone else at the table was. Danag was seated right next to her and even he had his attention on her.
"I heard you fell terribly ill," he was saying. "My apologies for not coming to get you, I have been terribly busy," Danag explained.
"Oh, it is fine. I am better now so you don't have to worry about me," she said with a smile.
"I am glad. I wish you a speedy recovery."
"Thank you, Danag."
From the corner of her eyes, she could see Corbin watching her suspiciously.
She glanced at him and he looked away immediately, thinking nothing of it. She returned her attention to her food.
