"Took you long enough," Louis said with a scowl when Jael walked into his study.

Jael didn't spare Louis a glance as he walked to his seat. "What are you doing here?" He asked dryly.

"What are you playing at?" Louis asked. "Surely, love hasn't made you go senile."

Jael sighed, "You're not the person I have business with. Therefore, we have nothing to discuss. I have a task for you…"

"Are you even listening to me?" Louis asked.

Jael finally lifted his gaze to look at Louis. "I need you to find a way to get Mauve to see Vae while I am keeping Seraphino busy. If anyone can do it, it will be you."

"Jael," Louis said darkly. "What are you playing at?"

"I don't understand your question but you best be on your way as Seraphino will be here soon and the conversation I'd have with him will be private, so scram."
