289 289. More Than An Apology

The second meal finished without any incident and Mauve quickly returned to her room, accompanied by Jael. He stood in front of the door but didn't make any attempt to open it.

Mauve took note of his hesitation and stretched out her hand to open the door herself. The lock gave way as she bent the handle and she pushed the door open.

She tried to pull her hand from Jael's grasp but he gently tugged her back. She frowned and stopped her movement to look up at him.

"Is something wrong?" She asked.

"You should come with me," he said and closed the door she just opened. Without giving her any more explanation he began to lead her away from her room and toward the direction of his study.

"Oh," she yelped as she rushed after him.
