"I know you wouldn't joke about something like that. That's why I am hoping I misheard. What do you mean threatening?" Jael asked as he pushed open the study.

It was dark except for the candlelight that lay on the desk. There were papers scattered over the desk and from the looks of things the desk was currently in use.

"He didn't say anything specific but he hinted about not keeping his end of his bargain if you won't come to their aid."

Jael snickered, "He is bluffing. Does he actually think he has the upper hand? Ugh, this is a waste of my time. Toss out any other letters you might."

Jael stopped in the middle of the study and turned toward the door. "Making demands," he chuckled. "Just what does he take me for? This better be some kind of joke."
