Chapter 6

Jax's eyes changed from a beautiful amber red to a darker shade of red. I stared into his eyes speechless as he held my chin firmly, forcing me to look into his eyes. He swiftly grabbed my wrist bringing it up to his mouth. He looked at my wrist then back to my eyes.

"May I?" He asked politely.

I was shook from what he asked, Vampires normally dont ask. Why did he ask me?

"Well I'm going to take that as a yes" Jax said giving a sweet chuckle.

He lightly kissed a spot on my wrist that sent electricity throughout my body, causing me to shiver. He looked up at me and smiled, showing his fangs. His fangs scrapped lightly on my skin. I felt my whole body heat up, and give in to him.

His fangs finally punctured my skin, I bit my lip. His bite wasn't as bad as I thought. Was he purposely not making it hurt?

Warmth rushed throughout my body. Why couldn't I move? Was this his other ability or is this what happens?

My legs finally gave out and I fell on him, he caught me, his arm wrapped around my waist, he lifted me up and laid back on the bed. My head resting on his chest, listening to his faint heartbeat.

He gently ran his fingers through my hair. I was fighting my sleep. What will he do to me when I'm asleep and can't protect myself?

"Shh go to sleep." He said softly rubbing circles on my back. "I promise I won't hurt you, Aasira." He whispered.

He was making it hard for me to fight my sleep. He hummed a calm melody that filled the entire room. Everything he did made my body relax. I couldn't fight my sleep anymore, I was slowly giving in to him.

I hate him for making me want to give up, how was this possible?!

I closed my heavy eyes.

------------------{DREAM}------------------

I was back at the neighboring tribe that had taken me in as one of them. The tribe chief took me in as one of his daughters, he was good friends with my grandfather.

Everyday in the early morning all the kids would train, the women would go farming, and the men would go hunt and protect the borderline.

The only thing that could be hear were swords clinging, yelling, laughter, and arrows being shot into trees and dummies.

While the other kids practiced with dummies or on each other, I practiced with the warrior of the tribe, I was his apprentice.

I was suddenly knocked me off my feet. Anger, rage, and pain filled my body.

"Focus" The warrior said.

I quickly got up and started swinging as he dodged everyone of them. Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at us. The kids were amazed by my skills but what they were doing is what I was doing when I was 4, so it was simple to me.

I swung the sword with full force, the sword barely cut his shoulder, and hit the ground with a loud cling. Everyone gave out a loud gasp of fear. The warrior was no one to mess with but I was able to cut him, which people couldn't do or come close to.

"Good job." He said covering the cut.

I bowed my head and everyone went back to work. He went to sit on the fallen tree that fell over during a storm.

He rolled up his sleeve. His arm was filled with all sorts of tattoos, but my favorite was the wolf. He also had a tattoo of a little girl on his shoulder. He won't tell me who it is but I've heard rumors that it was his dead daughter.

I sat in front of him watching every thing he did. He ripped a piece of his shirt and wrapped in around the cut. I looked at his face and studied it. He was tan, black hair, obviously built, and in his mid 30's.

The first thing I had learned from him was not to say sorry if I ever hurt him and I respected that.

He noticed me staring and patted my head giving a small smile. I didnt return that smile, I couldnt smile anymore not after what happened.

"C'mon kid, lighten up." He said patting my shoulder and giving me another smile.

Don't know how he could still smile like he didn't lose his family, the only thing that could make him happy. Was I replacing his dead daughter? No that can't be true at all!

I turned away ignoring his smile and comment.
