Chapter 4

Young Aasira's POV

The vampires began slaughtering the elders of my tribe, they ripped into their necks, drained them dry, my eyes widened with shock. The man with blond hair stood in front of my father

"No dont hurt him!!" I ran to the guy, I pushed him with all my strength but it seemed to do nothing. He didn't move an inch.

Tears spilled out of my eyes making my sight blurry. I cried and screamed as I tugged on the mans shirt.

The man slit my fathers neck with his knife. His body fell to the ground lifeless. The tribe elders blood colored the grass red, The white roses were splashed red.

I saw the spirits of the elders leave their dead body. They were mouthing something holding each others hands.

Once I woke up from a simulation like dream,  I looked around and was back in the arena. William stood in front of me holding his hand out for me to take. I refused and looked around. The vampires were in shock. Now they see why I hate them.

"Someone has a bad past huh?" William asked.

"You showed everyone didn't you!" I yelled.

"Orders from the king." He turned to face the king who was staring down at us, William bowed to him.

Rage ran through my veins. The image of me killing him made me smile with joy and bloodlust.

I ran towards the wall next to the balcony and ran up it using my vampire like speed. I flipped in the air and landed on the balcony. All of vampires gasped once my feet landed on the balcony floor. I looked around, there were no guards near the door, and the girl with light grey hair was gone.

I held the sword up to the kings neck

"You told him to project that memory?!" I asked angrily.

"Yes." He said staring into my eyes, his head rested on his fist.

"That's for me to know not your whole damn kingdom!"

"Why not tell them all?" He said moving my sword to the side. I pointed the sword back to his neck.

"Then I will just have to kill them all!" The vampires from the crowd shrieked in fear.

"Ah ah ah, you need to calm down my dearest Aasira." The king said standing up causing me to take a step back.

"I should just kill you right now." I said in a very serious tone.

"I think not." William spoke from behind me, grabbing my wrist then taking my sword from my hands.

"William, take her." The king said getting comfortable in his throne. William grabbed my arm firmly. I pushed William making him let go of my arm.

"Don't touch me."

"Feisty." William said patting my head, I quickly punched his arm.

"I said dont touch me"

William shrugged his shoulders and held his hands up surrendering. I walked past him towards the door.

We walked down the stairs from the balcony and down the hallway filled with cells. When we reached my cell I waited in front of it while William kept walking, I looked at him confused.

"My cell is right here."

"I know." He said stopping and waiting for me to catch up. I tilted my head to the side out of confusion.

"I'm not going to wait all day, Aasira." He said impatiently.

I caught up next to him. We walked to the entrance. Two guards held their sword out, William simply waved them off, they bowed to him and stood back next to the door guarding it, we finally made it outside, the sun was setting, the sky was colored pink and a very light purple.

A black limo was park in front of the stairs. The driver came out and bowed to both William and I. The driver opened the limo door for William. William got in and I followed behind him. The driver closed the door and went back to the drivers seat. The window that separate us and him was opened.

"Back to the castle?" The driver asked.

"Yes, to the castle" William said not making eye contact.

The limo began to move. I looked out the window studying the signs and streets. Once the car stopped William thanked the driver and got out. I hesitated getting out of the car.

When I was finally out William escorted me inside the castle, up 2 flight of stairs, down the hall, and finally to the first door on the right.

Once we reached the room he opened the door. William held his hand out signaling for me to go in, I walked in, and he closed the door behind him.

The room had a queen sized black bed in the middle, a walk in closet, a door that probably lead to a restroom, another set of glass doors that lead to a balcony, the sun was now on the horizon, the beautiful mixture of pink, orange, and purple colored the sky as it slowly fell asleep.

"Go take a shower, a servant should be coming with some fresh clothes" William said breaking the silence.

I nodded and went into the bathroom.

"Jax made sure to get you something comfortable for now." William said getting comfortable on the bed. That must be his name, Jax.

"Why are you still here." I asked turning on the water

"Jax asked for me to stay here." William said in a low raspy voice.

"Why?" I asked waiting for the water to get warm.

"The vampires here dont like you, they might want to kill you, and mostly because Jax doesn't want you to escape."

"ppfftt why does he care whether I escape or not." I said closing the bathroom door and getting undressed

"We could use you as a weapon against other kingdoms and the strigoi." I ignored what he said and got into the shower.

Could I really be a strigoi killing machine? Just a thing living to protect these awful blood sucking vampires? What is in it for me?
