5. Training Time

"Ela, there are many things I do not know about you. Sometimes, I feel you are a strange girl. How could I not--we have lived together, but I have never seen you eat or drink. When we were eating together, there were always people who called me. Therefore, by the time I finished talking on the phone--you would have finished eating. Unfortunately, in my house, no CCTV can leave your traces. But at least you will move to the dormitory, where there is 24-hour CCTV, and sure there will be traces of you. Ela, who are you?" Layzal contemplated in the room.

"Zal, I'm ready!"

Layzal opened the bedroom door--he looked at me from head to toe. Then he asked, "Ela, why are you wearing clothes like that?--This is the city of Archipelago, not the snowy North Pole."

He felt strange when he saw me wearing boots, trousers, a furry jacket, sunglasses, and long sleeves.

"I'm allergic to heat. That is why I wear clothes like this." I smile.

"Ela Ela, what is wrong with you," said Layzal while helping me carry my bag.

We immediately left for the Trinity Police Academy.

"Why do I feel unwilling if Ela moves into the dormitory?" Layzal was driving the car while daydreaming.

"Zal, STOP!" I said to Layzal because he ran through the red light. And then he immediately stopped the car. Unfortunately, half of it had already crossed the road line.

"Focus on driving, do not daydream--it is dangerous!" I told him.

"Sorry, Ela, and thanks for reminding me. Before, I never daydreamed while driving a car, but I did not know why today my mind went blank."

"You do not want me to move into the dormitory, do you?"

Layzal was shocked, and in his mind was, "How can she know what is on my mind? Strange."

"Do not think about it, Zal. I am just guessing to tease you. Because we used to be together, now we are back to our previous life, which is alone."

"You are right, alone," said Layzal while continuing driving.

***

By now, we had arrived at the Trinity Police Academy. We got out of the car and headed to the dorm.

"Ela, I can only walk you up here."

"It is all right, Zal. Thank you, you have helped me a lot. At first, I was nobody--now I will become a policewoman."

"Good Luck, Ela."

We looked at each other and smiled, and then he hugged me tightly. This is my first hug to a man. The smell of perfume mixed with the smell-- of his blood, but it still makes me want to bite his neck.

"Ela, what are you doing?"

I immediately covered my mouth and stepped back, "Do not let him see my fangs," I said to myself. I then control my lust. After that, I tried to answer the question.

"I did not do anything. I wanted to blow the dust on your neck," I said while stroking his neck.

After that, he left me alone. After he left, I headed to the dormitory room. It is the communal room, which I will share with other students.

"Hello! Sis, what is your name?" asked the girl, who was putting clothes in the wardrobe.

"Ela. You?"

"My name is Leni. Here, this side of the room is still empty," she pointed to an empty mattress in the corner.

"Thank you," I headed to the room she pointed at and put my things. After that, I rested for tomorrow morning.

***

"It is morning?"

I do not know the day goes by so fast. Whenever I feel like I'm not ready to take on the next day, one day is like one second. When I want to pass the day--one day is like a year.

"Ela, why are you wearing clothes like that?" asked Leni, who saw me wearing boots, trousers, a furry jacket, sunglasses, and a long-sleeved shirt.

"I'm allergic to heat. That is why I wear clothes like this," I smiled.

"Oh, you are allergic to heat. Then what is the black umbrella for?"

"The umbrella is for later when I run around in the middle of the field."

"Huh?" Leni was astonished.

"Come on, hurry up! We are going to be late--this is our first day of police training, do not show them our laziness."

"All right!" Leni was still looking at me in astonishment.

Then we gathered in the field.

"Good morning, Ladies and Gentleman of the Archipelago. Welcome to Trinity Police Academy. I will not speak at length. But I will pass on some messages to all of you. As police officers, you have the opportunity-- to serve the community in many ways. First, you must be alert to incidents such as robbery, domestic violence, or other types of crime. Second, you guys patrol the streets and maintain order, catch criminals, and help citizens in case of emergency or critical situations. You have to be good at choosing between right and wrong. Do not anyhow-- catch the wrong people, the bad people let go, and the good ones are thrown-- to prison. And most importantly, do not stop learning. I think that is all messages-- from me and thank you," Mr. Jos said in his speech.

After listening to Mr. Jos' speech, we started practicing, running around the field.

"Ela!" Mr. Jos called me.

"Yes, sir?"

"Layzal already told me that you are allergic to sunlight. Keep up the good work. Later if you are not feeling well, you can rest first."

"Yes, sir, thank you. Now I am practicing first, sir."

"Good luck, happy practicing."

I ran across the field, wearing boots, trousers, a fur coat, sunglasses, long sleeves, and a black umbrella. This way, I am protected from the sun. But unfortunately, many students do not understand my situation. Therefore, not a few students laughed at me. Moreover, they saw me running in the middle of the field holding umbrella.

"I am tired," said Leni, lying next--to me on the sidelines.

"Me too."

Then she fanned her hot body, smelling acrid in the air. If I were a normal person-I complained or maybe passed out. But I am a vampire--I think this is the smell of hot caramel.

"Ela, let's eat."

"There you go first. I still want to rest here."

"I will eat first, okay," she went to eat.

***

We had been practicing all day. Finally, nighttime came.

"Ela, why did I not see you eating or drinking? Have you eaten yet?"

"Yes, I have eaten. You took a shower, so you did not see me eating."

"Oh, I thought you had not eaten."

I smiled at her, then we rested and were ready to sleep. When everyone was asleep-- I went to the bathroom and locked the door. After that, I disappeared to look for food. After the whole day, my energy was drained by the sun.

It rained heavily at night, and lightning flashed across the dark sky. I was in one of the residents' houses in Lago village, in the goat pen--to be precise. I started biting two goats at once.

"I will pay later when I have the money," I said, looking at the two dead goats. Once I had done it, I disappeared to the bathroom and cleaned up. After that, I headed to my room and slept.

***

"Wake up, get ready-everyone!" came the voice of the Speaker.

We rushed up, got ready, and headed to the field. Today we will practice using firearms.

"In principle, the use--of firearms is a last resort to stop the actions of criminals or suspects. Firearms; may be used when there is a threat to human life only. Before using a firearm, you must give a clear warning by:

1. mentioning that you are a police officer on duty;

2. give a clear and firm warning to the target to stop, raise his hand, or lay down his weapon; and

3. allow sufficient time for warnings to be obeyed.

"And before opening fire, you must also give a warning shot into the air or the ground with great caution to lower the morale of the perpetrator and give a warning before the shot is directed-- at the perpetrator. One more thing, if there are parties who are aggrieved or have objections because they use firearms, those of you who are concerned are required to make a detailed explanation of the reasons for using firearms, the actions taken, and the consequences of the actions taken. Understand?" asked Mr. Jos.

"Understood, sir!" we answered in unison.

"Good, have fun practicing, everyone."

"Yes, sir!" We went to practice using firearms.

These are my days at Trinity Police Academy, which will be filled with various police training.

***

"Good grief! Mother, look at our goat!" shouted Mr. Din from the goat pen. He saw that his two goats had become carrion.
