11. Suspicious

At night my stomach growled, then I disappeared into the stables. A moment later came the sound of neighing horses.

"Finally, I'm full."

Once I finished, I disappeared to go to the bathroom to clean myself up.

"Aaaaaaaaa," I and a middle-aged woman--screamed simultaneously.

She screamed in fear when she saw my bloodied mouth. Then she passed out near the toilet, where she just finished urinating. Meanwhile, I went to disappear into another bathroom before returning to the dorms and sleeping.

Early in the morning, Layzal and Roni were already at the police station. They are a pair of 101 detectives who do not want to miss breaking news.

"Relax, Ma'am, calm down. Try to explain it slowly!" Layzal said to the woman.

"So, last night, while urinating, I saw a demon in the public bathroom. A female demon and her mouth covered in blood," said the middle-aged woman.

"What, demons are haunting the city of Archipelago?" asked Roni--who is curious about the existence of demons in the city of Archipelago.

"Yes, Sir, ghost, her face is scary."

Layzal and Roni looked at each other. Then Layzal asked Roni, "Demon has blood on her mouth? Is it possible that it is the vampire? What do you think, Ron?"

"Maybe it's true that it is a vampire," Roni was a bit confused in answering his question because demons looked scary everywhere.

"Vampire?" asked the middle-aged woman in a tone that sounded like she didn't believe in vampires.

"Yes, Ma'am, vampire. But you don't have to worry. We will do our best. Now you can go home, thank you for the information," said Layzal ending the conversation.

After that, the middle-aged woman left the room, leaving Layzal and Roni. However, she stopped when meets me at the door. She looked at me like she remembered that I was the devil.

"Good morning, Ma'am," I smiled and greeted her. However, she just stood and still stared at me.

Then she said, "You-you look like the devil from yesterday."

Suddenly Layzal and Roni looked at us and said, "What?" they were shocked.

"Hahaha, I'm sorry, Ma'am. What do you mean, Ma'am? I don't understand. My face looks like a devil, poor me, Ma'am," I said and tried to laugh because of what she said.

Unfortunately, she did not answer my question. On the other hand, Layzal looked at me with sharp eyes, and in his mind, "It's strange, Ela, laughed insincerely. Apart from that, judging by the expression on the Lady's face, she remembers the devil's face very well. The devil looks like Ela, and that is even weird."

"Ah well, excuse me first," said the middle-aged woman, then she left us.

"Good morning, everyone!" I greeted Layzal and Roni. However, they still stared at me stiffly. Because of that stare, I tried to divert them by asking them what happened.

"Actually, what happened, Zal?" I asked Layzal.

"Look, Ela, this morning I got news from Lago Village that a horse died unnaturally. The carcass is the same as the previous animal carcasses. At the same time, that Lady sees the devil in the bathroom with her mouth covered in blood. It could be that the demon is a vampire."

"Oh, now I know, you are speculating that the demon is the vampire because her mouth is full of blood. But I'm also confused since when do people see ghosts reported to the police? Is this the habit of the people of Archipelago City, whenever saw ghosts have to go to the police a little at a time," I said in surprise, while Layzal just smiled.

"Now, what are we going to do? Go to Lago Village?" I asked Layzal.

"No, Ela. For a while, we are in town first. Since the vampire is in town, we have to figure out how we can catch the vampire. As far as I know, vampires have the appearance of ordinary humans. However, there is another thing that sets it apart. Namely that vampires have weaknesses. If I'm not mistaken, their weakness is sunlight," said Layzal while looking at me.

"Aren't we just wasting our time, Zal? Vampires like to move around. Besides, we do not know for sure what the weaknesses are. Then what if we are the next victims?"

"Ela, no matter what happens, we must catch the vampire. Must!" said Layzal, who was excited to catch a vampire.

"If caught, what will you do with the vampire?"

"KILL it!" said Layzal, his hands clenched into fists.

"But, Zal, if the vampire is good, you will still finish her off? What I mean is, do not kill her, but just let her go as long as the vampire agrees not to disturb the villagers and townspeople. The most important thing is not killing the villagers' pets."

"Ela, have you seen a tame lion or a vegetarian lion? Vampires are ruthless. They look like lions who pounce on their prey. If so, then there is no mercy for her. Oh yes! Ela, you are allergic to the sun, right?"

"Oh, Boy, what is this why you suddenly ask? Do not think that I'm a vampire. It's outrageous--I'm a beautiful woman to be called a vampire."

"No, Ela, I'm not accusing you. I ask because I want to help treat your allergies. Ela, wait a minute," Layzal asked me to wait, then he went to the drawer and took his clothes.

"Ela, these are the clothes. Please wear them!"

"But Zal, these clothes are short."

"Yes, it must be short. Let's say we are in the lab doing research. Now you change clothes first. After that, you stand under the flagpole."

"Humph, you are not helping but killing me," I felt irritated.

"Ela, that way, I know what medicine is for you. I mean, later-- when your body is red, itchy, or has lumps, I can explain it to the doctor."

"Ah, let me change my clothes first," I changed my clothes, then stood under the flagpole.

"Ela, I'm sorry. I want to know who you are. Maybe, if you tell the truth, I'm not as desperate as this. But because your behavior is strange, like never eating or drinking, you are also allergic to the sun. Besides that, being ignorant when asked about your origins makes me even more suspicious that you are a vampire. If indeed the sun is your weakness, then this is the right time to find out who you are," said Layzal in his thought.

And in my mind, I said, "It turns out that Layzal suspects me. Luckily I have been drinking horse blood--at least I can survive. But still, I have to find a way--so that I can stay out of the sun. Now what should I do?" I thought of finding a way to avoid the sun.

"I have to faint," this was my idea, and I pretended to faint.

"Ela!" Layzal immediately ran to the police station yard, and he carried me--who had fainted.
