"Worst. Five Hours. Of my life."

Alina lay down on the floor, motionless.

Breathing deeply, Alina reached out and pressed the concealed button within her reach. She couldn't help but acknowledge the slight improvement in her stats, but did it have to come with such excruciating pain? And now, she pondered, what would be her next move?

Exhausted, Alina could only manage a long, deep breath. The pain had rendered her almost paralyzed, and the sight of blood pooling on the ground offered no relief. Perhaps this blood wasn't contributing to her Blood Point increase after all; it seemed like all of it had been absorbed into her body.

Rune enhancements have improved your Aether regeneration by 100%.

All healing magic skills now have 300% of their original effect.

Skills gained:

[Blitz] - This skill harnesses Blood Energy, enabling teleportation over short distances in exchange for Blood Points. The further the teleportation distance, the greater the Blood Point expenditure required.

[Bloody Swing] - Coat your sword in your blood and rain down a barrage of blood projectiles upon your enemies. The amount of projectiles fired from your sword depends on the amount of Blood Points spent.

[Pausa Doloris] - Utilizes blood manipulation to target and suppress the pain receptors of any chosen entity. This spell is capable of alleviating all forms of pain, with the cost varying directly with the intensity of the pain being nullified. High levels of pain necessitate a significant expenditure of Blood Points.

[Hostia Reconstructio] - A spell designed for the meticulous reconstruction of irreparably damaged organs. Unlike standard healing spells, it employs a combination of time manipulation and healing magic for restoration. Due to its complexity and power, it demands a considerable amount of Blood Points, warranting judicious usage.

[Regeneration] - A fundamental healing spell that can be applied to oneself or others, particularly effective for injuries to the extremities. However, treating internal injuries requires more advanced healing spells or medical interventions.

Perks Gained

[Illusion of Weight] - Weirdly enough, the class transformation also transformed your body's perception of weight. Any weapon weighing less than 10 kg (22 lbs) will have its weight increased by 800% while a weapon weighing more than 10 kg (22 lbs) will have its weight reduced to 10% of its original weight.

[Sanguine Warcleric] - Your body regenerates slowly, really slowly. As long as you can hold on to the pain and your head is still intact, you're pretty much hard to kill. You also have a lesser chance of having extensive internal injury.

[Vampiric Charm] - You have an easier time convincing and talking with people.

As Alina scrolled through the flood of notifications, she was stunned by the relentless stream of messages bombarding her vision. But the surprises didn't end there; she sensed a shift occurring within her body. Blood surged through her veins, heating up as if brought to a boil, while her muscles seemed to ignite with a fiery intensity. The strange runes etched into her skin emitted a faint red glow.

In that moment, she experienced a surge of strength, as if she could single-handedly lift a mountain. It might sound like an exaggeration, but that's truly how she felt. It was akin to the exhilaration of surpassing her personal best in a workout, or the joy of reconnecting with a former patient she had successfully treated.

It seems this world follows some kind of RPG rule, but this is fucking amazing! If I understand correctly, I'm a combination of two classes: DPS and healer. In situations like this, it's fucking amazing, isn't it? I mean, if I ever get injured, I can heal myself, and with firearms still in play, ranged attacks shouldn't be a problem. Plus, considering my tankiness, I'm practically unstoppable.

Despite all the newfound abilities at her disposal, Alina couldn't deny one simple fact: she was famished and utterly exhausted, even after awakening in a coffin. The battle against the drake and the subsequent procedure had taken a considerable toll on her body.

"Should I make a break for it?" Alina mused to herself once more. If this were a game, the developers certainly threw an odd mini-boss right at the entrance. If that was the introduction, who knew what dangers awaited beyond those walls?

Yet, remaining cooped up here wasn't exactly appealing either, especially with the looming specter of hunger and thirst. It was a tough spot to be in. On one hand, she yearned to venture out, but on the other, she couldn't shake the uncertainty of whether it was a wise decision.

Maybe stick around for a little longer? But I have found everything that I can find. Unless...

Alina glanced towards the lifeless drake, contemplating the idea of consuming its meat. It could buy her some time before she dared to venture outside. But was it safe to eat? There was no precedent for drake or dragon meat in the real world. Perhaps taking just a small sample, a mere pinch, would provide some insight.

Summoning her courage and wielding her saber, Alina sliced open the drake and retrieved a small portion of its red meat. With cautious resolve, she took a bite. Surprisingly, it tasted remarkably similar to high-quality beef, tender and succulent. Satisfied with her experiment, she swallowed it down.

[Drake - Irna]

This youthful cousin of the dragon family is like the rebellious teenager everyone whispers about, hinting that you're getting close to the real deal—a dragon's lair. These creatures, when they hit the big three-oh, go from "somewhat challenging" to "why did I think this was a good idea?" level of danger. However, due to its taste, it's often hunted by those who demand the most extravagant of dishes.

Note: Irna is a drake that I picked up some years ago when I found it injured in the forest. Though, a little bit reluctant at first, she eventually formed a bond with me. Did you just kill her, Alina? :(

It was her pet??? Wait, how did she know I just killed this Drake?

The feeling of guilt rushed over her, but it was overtaken quickly by the feeling of fear. Ingrid was the leader of this house, and she was continuously said to be powerful in the book. What should she tell her if she met her? Alina shook the thought as quickly as she thought about it, it wasn't the most important matter.

"Alright, time to butcher this thing" Alina resolved, her gaze lingering on the drake. Its meat was surprisingly delectable, and her knowledge of animal butchery came in handy. She carved out the choicest portions and stashed them in her Blood Inventory.

With both doors leading out of the room now open, Alina faced a decision. Though there was a chance to retreat back into the previous room, the lack of amenities in the inner sanctum left her little choice but to forge ahead.

Stepping into the corridor, Alina braced herself for the unknown. Would it lead to another area resembling the inner sanctum, or perhaps to another boss encounter? At this juncture, anything was possible. Determined, Alina pressed forward into the unknown depths of the corridor.

The corridor's white brick walls stood in stark contrast to the dark brick of its predecessor, signaling a shift in surroundings.

Finally, the corridor led into a vast chamber bathed in light filtering through fissures in the ceiling. It was a sight unlike any Alina had encountered, adorned with ancient symbols and artifacts hinting at a forgotten era. At the heart of the chamber rested a pedestal, upon which lay an object bathed in a mesmerizing glow, its allure impossible to resist.

Approaching the pedestal, Alina felt an otherworldly aura enveloping her with each step. Bathed in a warm yellow light, the object emitted a curious energy, drawing her closer until her hand rested upon its surface.

What watch is this???
