I felt the moment my stubborn mate did not compromise in his promise to stay put and came out here, sensing our bond shiver as it did when great emotions played in his mind, from fear to extreme pleasure, but unfortunately most of has been from uneasiness until now. 

I wonder if he could feel that too, how his presence makes me feel, or if he could feel the bond at all?

I dreaded the situation even more, not only was Evelyn missing, but now my mate is out here as well, and from all the places to get into this mess it needed to be in this enchanted mysterious forest?

Not even me, old as I am, nor my colleagues had an answer as to why this place is the way it is, as many theories as we had, but one thing for certain is that the magic in these woods are strong, old and I dare say almost sentient, enough so to obscure even the most sharpest of senses.
