6 UA Entrance Test

[10 months later] [Friday - 12:00 pm]

Earlier today, Doryoku and Oboro had their U.A academy entrance exam, so they both took a train to the Musutafu district to get there quickly.

"T-this is too much tension for my body" Doryoku said as his body shook quite nervously.

"Don't think too much friend you'll do great!" Oboro said with a big smile giving his support, although his back was full of nervous sweat as well.

Doryoku was wearing black pants and a wine-colored long-sleeved shirt, which his mother gave him on his birthday and was his favorite.

And Oboro, taking into account the practical exam, used a dark blue martial arts Gi, which was the one he always used in his martial arts practices at the Dojo.

"Hey Doryoku, you're sure you don't want to be a hero right?" Oboro asked curiously trying to think of something else before the test.

"I already told you Oboro, I'll only use my quirk for protection, besides, I'm sure it wouldn't be a good idea to use it to save people" said Doryoku with a serious tone causing Oboro to let out a disappointed sigh.

After this, they both got off the train upon reaching their destination and walked towards the hero academy, which could easily be seen on the mountain and was surrounded by a large forest.

Upon arrival, they both admired the large building with shock, Oboro was very excited and Doryoku only began to tremble more nervously.

"Go ahead friend! It's time to go!" Oboro said taking braveness out of who knows where as he dragged Doryoku into the building.

There were several students around, all quite nervous and remembering their studies in their mind or relaxing their body and mind first before all.

It should be noted that, thanks to Doryoku's insane punctuality, they both arrived half an hour earlier, even though he had to throw cold water on Oboro's face to wake him up much to his regret.

They both sat near the entrance while Doryoku tried to calm his nerves and Oboro looked very excited.

"Don't worry, friend, you'll do great! If you don't pass, no one will!" Oboro said quite confidently and patting Doryoku on the back.

"I'm not really sure if that works for support" Doryoku said going from nervous to confused trying to decipher the answer to his dilemma.

Seeing that his friend put the subject aside to think of something else, Oboro smiled victoriously at the results.

After half an hour, the people around started to enter as did Oboro and Doryoku.

When you aspire to be a hero and fail the practical test, but get good scores on the written test, you can transfer to general studies for another try at the sports festival.

The weird thing was going to a school of heroes without wanting to be a hero, but Oboro's insistence and the prestige of the UA made Doryoku make that decision.

"Good luck Doryoku! Wait for me at the exit!" Oboro said excitedly as he went the other way to take his test.

"Good luck" Doryoku said a little nervous as he went the other way.

After entering a room with several students until it was full, a man with black hair and a kind of ornament on his forehead with a gemstone in the center, in addition to a black vest with yellow lines that exposed his abdomen and chest for some reason, showed up to deliver the exams.

"Welcome to the UA entrance test, the test is a combination of all the topics you have studied so far, I can only wish you good luck" said the black-haired man with a professional and calm tone.

The tension and seriousness was palpable, after all it was a much more complex exam than the common one to enter a prestigious academy.

The students distributed the sheets among themselves and the test began when everyone had a sheet in their hand, allowing one hour to complete it.

Doryoku took a deep breath and began to write focusing more on the problems of the sheet than on his nervousness and the people around him.

After an hour, the test was over and everyone handed their exam, some more nervous than others, ending the general studies entrance test.

Doryoku relaxed quite a bit after finishing the test finally and sat on the stairs outside the academy to wait for Oboro.

In the distance you could hear all kinds of noises, knocks, screams of a rocker apparently, snakes for some reason and even Doryoku was sure that he heard a manatee in the distance.

And after about 30 minutes, the noises stopped and the would-be heroes started pouring out of the academy.

"Doryoku!! I did great! I'm sure I'll pass the test!" said Oboro quite proud while he looked quite tired and covered in dirt.

"What the hell happened there?" Doryoku asked mainly curious about that manatee sound.

"We had to capture people disguised as villains, take them to exact places without doing them the least possible damage and the more you carry the more points you will have" said Oboro with an explanatory and excited tone as they both walked home.

Doryoku thought a bit about the subject and was able to quickly hypothesize what Oboro said about it.

'I see, capture villains and locate the closest places such as prisons, in addition to taking care of their integrity, control, mental speed, knowledge of the area, all in just 30 minutes' thought Doryoku quite surprised by all the areas that Oboro's test explored .

"Also, in the end the villains took out knives! Although they turned out to be rubber but you must have seen everyone running away scared from them" said Oboro while he laughed when he remembered everyone scared by the plastic knives.

'Also teach them to react to the unexpected and recognize the trap of a villain, I suppose that prestige is not earned by itself' Doryoku thought as he continued listing everything that happened and listened carefully to Oboro and his story.

And after this, both friends went home to wait for their results.

A few days later, in the highest part of the UA, a dog / bear / mouse or just a mammal, also known as Principal Nezu, was going through the files of all the students who passed the test.

Said principal always had an adorable smile on his face, but his thoughts were something that no one would want to know.

The principal always enjoyed reading about the new generations and it was always interesting to know what kind of students he will see each year and to try to measure their potential.

At one point, the director stopped at a file upon seeing an unusual word in a person's quirk.

Kyanseru.

At that word, principal Nezu opened his eyes surprised but also quite curious about the young man with such condition.

"Doryoku Suzuki huh?, Interesting, a kyanseru is not seen every day, it is best to keep an eye on him" said principal Nezu quite interested while he smiled and continued to review the documents.

"This new generation seems quite interesting, it will be exciting to see how they perform" principal Nezu said with an excited smile as he drank some tea.

It was normal to be interested in a kyanseru, most of them have a too powerful quirk and with the correct training they could become top 10 heroes without much difficulty.

They were diamonds in the rough in a nutshell, but one was very complex to see and most of them had a certain rejection or even terror of their own quirk.

But those kinds of challenges only made principal Nezu more interested in them.

The next day, it was Saturday and Doryoku's mother took the day off to find out the results first.

They were both sitting at the kitchen table while eating quietly, until Doryoku decided to ask something.

"Hey Okā-chan, I'm already 16 years old, do you think-" Doryoku said expectantly and being cut off by his mother suddenly.

"No Dory-chan, you can't work to help me, much less now that you're going to study at the UA" said Doryoku's mother, flatly refusing her son's request.

"But-" Doryoku said trying to reason and being cut off again.

"No buts, I stand firm in my position" Doryoku's mother said with a serious tone and causing him to give up on the idea.

Every year after his birthday Doryoku always asked the same question and was always flatly denied, at least until he finished his studies.

Doryoku understood that trying to reason with his mother was impossible, his mother was the most stubborn person he had ever met and there was no logical way to make her change her mind.

Which was impressive considering that Oboro was also a hardhead, and on his last birthday he insisted on Doryoku for a whole month to accept his gift of a phone.

Obviously Doryoku flatly refused, after all his home phone was enough and he only uses it to call his mother, but after 1 month of constant insistence Doryoku accepted his gift, which only made him feel indebted to his friend greatly even though he always told him not to worry.

After lunch Doryoku and his mother waited all day for the mail until at 6:00 p.m. someone knocked on the door.

"Excuse me, I have a package for Doryoku Suzuki, is anyone here?" a male voice said from the other side of the door.

Doryoku was completely frozen for a second due to tension so his mother went to get the package herself.

When she returned, she handed the package to Doryoku and he decided to open it quickly to end his nervousness as his mother sat next to him expectantly as well.

In the package was a rather elegant letter written in a handwriting that made Doryoku doubt whether it was even possible for one person to write it.

And upon opening the letter, the first thing Doryoku could read was that he had entered, causing him to breathe a sigh of relief.

"My son is a genius I knew it!" Doryoku's mother said hugging him with pride and a big smile.

The letter specified how his first day would be like and various other details including his test score.

'99, this has to be a joke' Doryoku thought with a vein on his forehead but also quite happy with the results.

*Ring Ring*

Doryoku's phone started ringing in his pants to which he answered instantly.

"Hello there?" Doryoku asked curiously as he started the call.

"Doryoku I entered the academy and I am the first in the practical exam!!!" Oboro yelled from the other side of the call causing Doryoku to push the phone far away and have a whistle in his ear.

"You piece of idiot almost made me deaf!!" Doryoku said with blank eyes in anger as he yelled back.

"Sorry I lost the control for a moment!!!" Oboro yelled causing Doryoku to have to put the phone away again.

"You're not going to ask if they accepted me?, what kind of best friend are you?" Doryoku asked quite comically disappointed with his best friend.

"Don't talk nonsense Doryoku, if I entered you must have been among the best in the world" said Oboro, smiling mockingly and with a lot of confidence.

"I would like to have that confidence, I'll see you there Oboro" said Doryoku smiling slightly at the attitude of his friend.

"See you there brother!" Oboro said happily as he ended the call.

At the interaction of his son, his mother could only laugh slightly at how different Doryoku is from being with Oboro.

"Maybe one day you can learn something from Oboro-kun and be more sociable, that would be a nice gesture Dory-chan" Doryoku's mother said as she smirked and Doryoku had a bead of sweat on the back of his neck.

"Let's eat pizza to celebrate!" Doryoku's mother said as she looked for his bag to go out.

"B-but Okā-chan you don't have to spend on that" Doryoku said as he flatly refused to have a gift.

"No buts is my money and I spend it on my son if I want to!" Doryoku's mother said as she took her son and dragged him with her to celebrate.

And this would be the beginning of Doryoku's studies at UA, in which all kinds of experiences and friendships awaited him.

And possibly, what would make him forget his trauma and his bad experiences once and for all.
