CHAPTER 35

THIRD PERSON’S POV

Akela felt anxious and uneasy about where she was. She kept going back and forth as if she wanted to go to Shranaia. She is aware of what may happen to the woman, and she is aware that the minute she loses control, it might be the end of everything. She hasn’t created a potion yet, and she has no idea what potion might be effective for Shranaia.

As the woman ran away from what was happening, Vixen couldn’t help but worry about Shranaia. The only thing he could do now controlled her emotion and anger, and the moment he didn't do it, it might be the end of them too.

“Deacon, you don’t know what you’re doing,” Vixen said to Deacon.

Deacon grinned as he stared at him. “You don’t belong here; I don’t care about you; all I want is to get the woman I want,” he said.

Vixen couldn’t help but be irritated by Deacon’s remarks. He is not jealous, but he is even worried about the possible consequences of him at the hands of Shranaia. He looked at Ron and Ran and motioned for them to do something. Ran dashed up to Shranaia, but his eyes widened as she raised her hand and covered his face. He is unable to move and can sense its power.

“S-Shranaia,” he softly called her name.

“Whatever you intend to do, stop it,” she said seriously.

Everyone can feel the coldness in Shranaia’s voice, and her lush fur is gradually coming out, as are her red and yellow eyes. Her long and sharp claws have also come out, as have her fangs. Fergus and Faustino were immediately concerned, so they immediately took action.

“Catch her!” said Fergus, who was quickly followed by his pupils.

Rara and Gena acted to defend their companion despite not knowing what was happening or in what form it was at the time. Even though they are attempting to comprehend everything, they are perplexed by what is going on. Rara was so focused on defending their friend that she didn’t notice the spear that was about to strike her. She was unable to release it, but Shranaia swiftly caught it.

Vixen gazed at Shranaia, amazed that even when she wasn’t in her pristine condition, she could remember who to trust and who not to trust. She knows they are still her friends, and even if she looks different, she will not abandon her. Shranaia killed the man who threw the spear at Rara in an instant. The enemy's blood spilled on Rara’s face. She couldn’t believe what had occurred, especially when Shranaia wrenched her opponent’s neck.

“Rara,” Gena called her. “Are you all right?” she inquired.

They fought again when Gena helped her companion up. Shranaia couldn’t look away from Deacon, Fergus, and Faustino. Vixen approached her and urged her to calm down. Yet Shranaia doesn’t appear to be listening to anyone, and even though she hears Vixen’s voice, her rage takes over.

Vixen took Shranaia’s hand in his, turned to face him, and her lifeless gaze opened to him. “Please stop,” he said quietly to her. “Calm down, Shranaia,” he added.

His forehead was furrowed as she looked at Vixen, as if she didn’t understand what he was saying. He looked at the hand that was holding her hand, then gently removed it, and she just grinned at him as if she didn’t care about what might happen. At that time, Deacon was surprised when Shranaia attacked him. He didn’t expect it, and he didn’t know how he was able to attack as fast as lightning.

“Acckkk---”

Fergus instantly attacked to break Shranaia’s clutch on Deacon, but when he turned to face her, he collapsed. Shranaia’s appearance was one of the powers of hybrids like her. This is also something people are afraid of, and it should not happen.

“This is not good,” Faustino said.

“Do you realize how scarce what you’re doing is?” Fergus said angrily.

“I can change her, and I know that not all hybrids are incapable of controlling themselves!” Vixen defends Shranaia.

“Did you truly read the hybrid book?” Faustino inquired.

“Did you read the truth in that book as well? Or are you focusing solely on the negative events that occurred?” he said cynically.

Faustino was unable to reply to Vixen’s words and attacked Shranaia instead. What they are afraid of is starting, and what they are afraid of is going to happen. Even if they halt it, they can’t undo what’s already been set in motion. When Akela sat in her chair, watching Vixen's situation in the crystal ball, she continued to work on a possible treatment for Shranaia.

She knows she won’t do anything wicked, but the wrath in her heart will be the root of all evil, especially the blood splattering all over. “A lot may happen at any moment now,” Akela said as she turned around, her eyes widening as she realized who it was.

“R-Rudina?” she couldn’t believe it, and then the girl came up to her.

Akira emerged from her room and observed Akela’s puzzled expression. She glanced at what he was looking at and smirked, as if he knew what was about to happen. Akela approached her twin and inquired if she knew where she was heading.

“I didn’t expect you to come,” she said, then approached the kid.

“I just want to give you something before I leave,” she said, then looked at the two. “Give it to her,” she said as she held out the potion.

The two looked at the girl and also the potion she was holding. “How did you get out?” Akela asked.

“There are things that shouldn’t be asked anymore, so just keep your mouth shut,” she said sarcastically.

“You’re a philosopher,” Akela stated angrily, and Rudina didn’t keep an eye on her.

Akira took the potion, and Akela sighed. She just sat there and waited for the coffee to make itself. Rudina’s face was expressionless as she sat and gazed into the crystal ball. It’s as if nothing is happening to her, and her odd stare at Shranaia gives Akela an odd impression.

“It’s not here to change what’s destined, is it?” Akira said.

“Nothing can be altered, but I can use a creature’s body to acquire and accomplish my revenge,” she replied without looking at her.

“Is there something we don’t know?” Akela asked.

“Interfering is not your thing,” she said, evilly looking at Akela.

“Why do you think so badly of me? I’m not doing anything wrong to you,” she grumbled.

“She doesn’t enjoy being asked, so don’t ask again; or else you’ll split into two later,” Akira replied.

Akela didn’t answer anymore and just winced at what her twin sister said. Even so, she already knows what she can do and the solution she gave her. Rudina was just staring at the crystal ball, and after a while, she suddenly smiled as if she were thinking about something. Akira looked at the crystal ball and then looked at Rudina again.

“It is not possible to change what is already destined. But can the breed that will be adopted be continued? If only they can control themselves, it can continue.” Akira just sighed at his thoughts, then she looked out their window.

Rudina suddenly disappeared, then Akela and Akira continued with what they were doing. They both know what will happen, and they also know what will happen at that time. But they also knew that something bad could happen when Shranaia lost control of herself. While Akela was reading the book, she stopped at a page where there was another hybrid that could also be their partner.

Akira looked at her twin, then she looked at what she was looking at. “What is that?” she asked.

“Lycans,” answered Akela.

“Lycans?” Akira repeated.

“Lycans are half-human hybrids and can transform at any time,” she explained.

“What’s the difference between Lycans and Veawolves?” she curiously asked her sister.

“Lycans are also a threat to common wolves like ourselves. They are, nevertheless, vampires’ adversaries. Yet, Lycans are intelligent and skilled fighters. They have no control over themselves, especially when it comes to blood and vision. They are also part of the Homo Lupus Species. They can control their transformation into a werewolf under a full moon or a life-threatening circumstance,” she added. “Veawolves are able to disguise themselves from the visual sight of werewolves, and they are also able to hide their scent. They may or may not be bats or have bat wings. That is why they can fly whenever they want.”

Akira nodded at her twin sister’s explanation, then looked at the potion she was holding that Rudina had given her. Lycans are half human and half wolf, but veawolves are half vampire and half werewolf. But veawolfves are still stronger than lycans because of their abilities as werewolves and vampires. They still have weaknesses, but even so, they are still able to fight according to their form and their abilities.

“A vaewolf’s body movements are uncannily flexible. Their agility is more advanced than humans’, which allows them to rapidly respond to change by adapting to its initial stable configuration. They can make numerous gymnastic or martial arts implements with little effort using a combination of strength, balance, reflexes, and speed. They can even swing, flip, bend, and twist themselves without failure due to their enhanced sense of balance and flexibility.”

Akira stared at her sister, then at the book she was carrying. “That’s why the werewolf hunters were founded because of their strengths,” she said quietly, and Akela nodded.

Veawolfves Hunters emerged from their initial breeding. Too much power cannot be allowed to survive because they feel it will be detrimental to everyone. When it becomes stronger, this hybrid will be their issue. Wolves will vanish, and all creatures will be out of whack.

They were taken aback when Shranaia sprouted wings and revealed herself to be a vampire. It immediately attacked Faustino when Ron unexpectedly blocked her path. She came to a halt and looked at her companion, but her gaze was fixed on Faustino. She noticed Deacon approaching from above and swiftly drew Ron closer to her before attacking Deacon.

Deacon couldn’t handle the strength that Shranaia had; that’s why her attack didn’t hit him, and she sprang into the trees. The next thing Shranaia did was attack Faustino completely, but his son Fergus quickly responded. It only gives a smile, and even though everyone is struggling with what is happening, they continue to fight. Rudina just watched from afar and watched what Shranaia could do.

“You don’t listen to anyone at all. People like us don’t just take it for granted. Did you think it would be easy for you to kill me?” Shranaia said something that made Vixen nervous.

“Shranaia,” he called her.

A smile can be seen on Rudina’s lips while watching the gradual destruction of the Mystic Pack. She knew that this time she would be able to take revenge, but it would be through Shranaia’s intervention. While she was sitting, there was a visitor who came, and the smile disappeared from her lips. She knows that what is happening will not be good in her eyes, and she knows that she will be banned from going out again.

“Rudina,” her mother called her. “Didn’t I warn you?” she said with an angry tone.

“But mother…”

“Stop what you were doing. You see enough now, but you don’t have to do this thing. You’re just making everything worse,” she said and approached her daughter.

“I know what happened. I know it’s wrong, but I just want to see them suffer because that’s all I want to see before you lock me up again,” she said in a sad voice.

She didn’t speak anymore, then looked at what was happening. Veawolfves are not that bad. They are simply not given the opportunity to explain and learn to control themselves. This is something that others don’t understand, which is why they are easily judged and easily accused of being evil beings who will destroy everything.

“What happened to me?” Shranaia asked in her mind. “Is this me? Or am I another that I didn’t know before?”

Shranaia looked around her and noticed the smell in her surroundings. That smell gives her a strange sensation in her body. She can see almost red all around, as can her sense of smell. It’s like she’s losing her mind, and this is what gives her a strength.

“Shranaia.”
