Chapter 8

He knew she was trying to get away from something or someone in the palace and that could have being what deprived her of her sleep.

When he said they should go to the hills he had one objective and that was to make her sleep,because she looked sleep deprived when she knocked on his door and also she didn't always take the initiative to knock on his door.

He was always the one that would go see her but she coming to see him shocked him but he didn't show it.

He didn't like as she was like that because she looked grumpy without sleep and he knew one wouldn't function properly without sleeping.

***At the hill.

While she was drinking she gave him a botttle to drink with her but he refused not because he didn't drink but because he had low tolerance and he was also going to be driving so it didn't sound as a good idea.

She drank a whole bottle and was already drunk,he could tell that she had low tolerance.

She tried to drink again but he stopped her ,she kept on refusing so he gave her another glass.

As she drank her face got redder so he treied to stop her again and she wasn't as stubborn again and gave him the bottle.

she layed down on the mat as she couldn't move again while he kept looking down at her to see if she was asleep,she didn't show any sign of wanting to sleep ,her eyes were still as bright but still looked weak.

She tried asking him questions about his personal life which he didn't answer to because he thought it was due to the alcohol that she was asking him meanwhile she was curious to know.

The more she asked her didn't answer,she was still adamant and finally her answered with a hmm or a nod.

But questions about his mask he didn't answer.

Do you have siblings?,lilo asked.

No,he said.

Why do you always wear a mask?,she asked and he didn't answer.

Why aren't you answering me,she said as she sat down to look at him.

She kept on staring at him while he stared back at her before saying.

To hide our identity,where ever we go to we can't be seen without it,we always put it on and whoever we serve also cant see us without it.

Why is that?,she asked curiously.

It is a rule,he answered.

As the princess of Gardenia i would like to see you without your mask,she said.

Its an order,she said making him sigh.

Am sorry your highness,but i can't,he said making her sigh.

Its okay,i won't ask you to show you again,she said.

Though i would love to see what lies beneath the mask,she added before laying down again but this time she was quiet which indicated that she was asleep.

He laid down too looking at the sky while thinking about the princess last words before she fell asleep.

Though i would love to see what lies beneath the mask,it kept on ringing in his head which made him smile.

Little did he know he was developing feelings for the princess.

He too fell asleep for a short while then wokee up to see the princess still asleep and it was night already.

He decided to carry her to the car and take her to the palace,when they arrived at the palace he didn't come down because he didn't want her parents to see her drunken state.

He came down alone checked the parameters,it was empty so he carried lilo and fled to her room before shutting the door.

He layed her down on the bed then he took out her heels before massaging her legs as they were red which he knew was uncomfortable for her.

He helped her wash her feet before tucking her under the quilt, he bent down and put the side of her hair behind her ear,as he was about to go he felt a hand around his neck as she pulled him closer to her face with their nose touching,he used his hands to remove her hand before leaving the room to calm his beating heart.

If she was awake,she would pretty much hear the beating of my heart,he said to himself as he entered his room to sleep as he too was tired.
