1 The Napping Begins

Sarah Payne, an 8-yr old girl was the victim of murder in England in 2000. The cause of death was strangulation, suffocation or a combination of both. Her remains were discovered in Pulborough, West Sussex, England. She had disappeared from Kingston Gorse while playing with her siblings.

On July 17, 2000, a body was found, with forensic science tests confirming that the body was that of Sarah Payne, leading police into a murder investigation. On July 20, a shoe was recovered from a roadside in Coolham, 3 miles from Pulborough, which appeared to be Payne's shoe.

On February 6, 2001, following a police enquiry, suspect Roy Whiting was arrested and charged with the abduction and murder of 8-yr old Sara Payne.
