Chapter 2, Rebirth

In The Void,

Kevin's soul was floating for the third time in his life.

If this was his first time maybe he would have freaked out, but now he is a veteran and knows the drill. He should just wait, For how long? He didn't know and he didn't care, he stopped counting the days or maybe the years waiting before getting his soul transported to another world

'Which world am I going to go to now? '.

'Do you have any idea, System?' Kevin asked the mysterious system that was following him from the beginning of his journey as a Hero, then a Demon lord, and finally, an ordinary human as he lived in an interesting world that was filled with something called science.

[I don't know Host] replied the System in its usual robotic tone that has been devoid of any emotions.

'I am really curious, system won't you tell me what you really are and where did you come from?', Asked Kevin in a curious tone.

Since there is nothing better to do in the Void and he didn't know how long he is going to stay there, He decided to ask again since he asked her for the last three lifetimes, but the system stayed with not answering policy and sometimes he gave me an annoying missions to divert my attention from the questioning it.

[You will know soon Host]

'haaa, soon, When? System it has already been six hundred years since the moment you attached yourself to me' I asked in an irritated tone.

[Well, Host the system prevents me from telling you anything you don't need to know at the moment, you will just know when the system finds that you are qualified enough to bear the burden] said the system emotionlessly .

'That useless system and its strange answers, after getting enlightened in the previous world with manga and light novels, I understood that my system wasn't a good or evil system, It is just neutral with no sense of right or wrong, it just gave me missions according to a certain setting to help me grow in a specific direction that the system determined necessary, haaa that's tiring' Kevin sighed again for the hundredth time maybe but no sound come out since he is in the void.

[Host, since we are about to get transported, let me tell you that this is probably your last reincarnation with your memories intact] said the system bluntly to Kevin

Kevin didn't if he should be happy or sad about this, but that is something he is going to discover in the long run in this life as it is going to be filled with all kind of exciting things.

'Well, I certainly hope so ' Kevin sighed again.

As Kevin was lost in the Void, he begins thinking about his life from the beginning till now. He was a slave in his first life then by some kind of miracle he heard the system sound in his head which allowed him to grow stronger and become a hero of the legends in his home world.

But when he thought his life turned better, he discovered that he has no one to share his happiness with, even with his party members, as they were all joining him just for fame not anything like stories and legends about The Hero and his Companions, and when he thought he could slay the demon lord and rest somewhere the system gave an absurd mission of sacrificing himself unless he wants to die, which was basically the same thing.

He was so furious at the time and was cursing the creator of the system for these absurd missions. But he didn't have any other choices so that's how his first life ended.

As he got reincarnated from the system reward. In this second life, he got to be in the body of the son of a former demon lord. From here he had missions to play the bad guy by becoming a demon lord and killing a lot of people whether they were innocents or not. He would be lying if he said his mentality wasn't affected in this life as he was free to live as he please with exception of the system missions.

As the role of a demon lord greatly affected his mentality, he passed away as his natural life span came to an end after roaming the world for awhile and causing destruction here and there.

As Kevin was lost in thought about his past lives and was going to recall his last one he suddenly heard something.

SHIIIIING

Suddenly, Kevin heard a sound in the void and saw a bright light that nearly blinded him, Then everything become covered in darkness again, and before losing consciousness he heard the system voice in his head,

[Prepare yourself for the shock Host]

And then everything went dark for him as the next time he opens his eye, he would be in a new world ready to embark on a journey that will affect the fate of a universe that have been heading to it's destruction without anyone changing it's direction.
