1 Chapter 1: the birth of a disaster

Prologue

Can the end ever have a meaning if its very purpose was to end meaning itself?

If we're all born to die, then why the need for birth in the first place?

.

.

.

.

if death were the only way to eternal peace, then why do we still fear it...

The end is such a bitter truth, but at the end, it truly is the beauty that gives life its main purpose.

.

.

Then why do we hate it so much?...

.

.

.

we hate it because of its unexpectable nature... but... that narrative is wrong...

.

.

Because death is the only certainty in life... so why fear it?

.

.

.

oh yeah... because its the painful truth the nothing ever last.

Dante's p.o.v

I stood behind a barrier conjured up by Father Alfred, created to shield me, Trinity, Mark, Lucy, and Rin from the catastrophic attack created by the evil before us. One of the so-called generals of the monarch is set to deliver the judgement of the monarch's very will upon us. A being that harbors the very power to extinguish your very soul and this same being was after my life and the lives of my loved ones around me

—the 11th executioner. That was his name.

"It's over, saint... Your chronicle is mine, and the very existence of that accursed child shall seize to exist... By the order of the monarch, I hereby grant you all judgment." The 11th executioner roared as the attack started to become stronger and stronger, pushing the forcefield back even more. I held onto Trinity and Rin's unconscious bodies while Luca's and Mark's bodies remained behind me, hoping to protect them all while I kept trying to figure out a way to act and stop the executioner. But no matter how much I tried, the threat before me was leagues above my comprehension, even if I let the seal take control It won't be enough. I continued to contemplate the very difficulty of this situation I was in right now until I was broken out of my very wave of thoughts by my teacher, my mentor... The one I saw was closest to a father

Father Alfred,

"I'm sorry, Dante... It was all my fault; I placed you all in this mess. A mess that might as well cost you all your lives... the barrier can't hold forever, Dante," Father Alfred informed me as the ball of energy continued to push into the barrier, to the point that even the heat melted the ground around us to magma. "The spell the 11th executioner cast before is limiting my powers beyond their normal control, and so there's not much time anymore."

"Father Alfred, please, there's no need to apologize; we can do this; I can try and buy you some time; and we all can escape this problem... I can use the seal to help." I cried out, trying to suggest a way to help, but I was caught off guard by Father Alfred's soft laughter with tears at the corner of his eyes.

"You are always so full of ideas, young Dante... Trying to put others before you, like always... I'm truly sorry, so please accept my final gift to you all," he said as the barrier started to break little by little. He turned his face toward me and gave me his most grateful smile. A smile that showed how content he was—a smile of defeat His chronicle started to glow white as the light from it started to cloak me, Trinity, and Rin. "For death is the penalty we all pay for the privilege of life, and I... shall take that penalty from you all... and suffer it alone, for what is a good father without taking suffering from his children?"

"FATHER ALFRED!!!" I cried out in despair as the barrier finally broke. Father Alfred let go and fully faced us.

"Die!" the executioner roared out with the blast coming at us.

"Take care of them, Dante...

Come forth the power that transcends the law of existence... The power over death

Sacred technique: Ascension!"

And with that, the blast hit, and everything around me turned white as I found myself falling into an eternal pit of void.

It was all over.

I lost everyone again.

My very existence was never meant to be... I never found peace. From the very beginning

I couldn't... Be enough.

I was a burden from the very beginning.

15 years earlier—the day of the great disaster

Third person's p.o.v

The sun shone and the sky was a brilliant blue, as it was just a normal day.

The roads were filled with cars, and everyone knew where they were heading as they went about their individual day.

But then... Suddenly, like a flick of the finger, the whole atmosphere changed as the clouds turned a dark, dirty shade of black and covered the sun and sky. Everyone had noticed the sudden change in weather, which caused a massive amount of confusion among the crowd. Until...

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" A scream erupted from a passerby who had his gaze up to the heavens as a purple glow appeared in the sky. This had caused panic in the minds of the people. Then, without warning, a sudden beam of light struck the earth, and at the very moment of contact, the blast covered the whole land on a multi-city scale.

The blast cleared all the clouds in the sky and painted the sky purple and red, as at that very instance. An uncountable amount of life had been lost. The beam continued for about 1 minute before settling down as cinder and ashes filled the atmosphere and stained the ground with glowing, dark red fumes. But then, as the smoke cleared, a figure of colossal size covered the sky, reaching a height of hundreds of thousands of kilometers into the heavens above the cloud, as more of the smoke had cleared. To finally reveal an ominous being of dark mana... A lean-shaped being with a humanoid form that was made of scattering dark mana that also stained the very atmosphere around it.

The being remained quiet for a solid 30 seconds before its eyes lit up in pure red as it was overtaken by rage and then released a roar capable of reaping the very earth's surface to ashes as it shook the earth's core, and the dense amount of dark mana had created a shock wave of pure destruction around the monster, spreading towards the outer parts of the world. Preparing to leave a massive path of destruction and doom...

But then, out of the blue, a golden yellow seal barrier appeared around the being and contained the shock radius, reducing its very impact on the rest of the world. Though, as the seal kept on holding on, a greater seal was cast... from a very bright light on the surface of the earth, as this very power erupted from beings suited in cyber warfare armor with them expanding across the globe... Keeping the barrier active

And this set of beings was known as "the army of the monarch; the dragon guild; imperial knights."

Guild leader p.o.v.

'How is this even possible? A being with a power far above that of the monarch? And even far above the executioners?' I pondered, as I and my remaining comrades had continued to hold the seal barrier in order to stop the impact from the shockwave.

But, in reality, is there even a way to stop it?

I got a call from a unit on the other side of the globe, saying that they helped in evacuating some civilians to the safe point, as portals were set to send them to the safe point at the top of the globe, away from the destruction, and had a barrier around it too.

"Sir Arthur, the evacuation is going well, and we will soon be over... But the bad news is that the blast is approaching too fast. Would there still be time to get everyone to safety, sir?" My comrade from the second unit spoke, and the situation was of utmost importance but seemed to have triggered a thought within my mind.

'Will the barrier even be capable of withholding the shockwave? This scale of massive destruction is far above any encounter with any corrupted being I've faced. I've seen beings of darkness. Cause magnitude-5 earthquakes or even tides capable of flooding a whole state... But this... This is just too bizarre; if this shockwave gets outside the barrier, all life is gone.' I thought in fear as I started to stare at the coming blast. Destroying mountains into dust. Would the barrier hold it?

"damn it! ALL UNITS GET INTO POSITION"

"I WON'T LET THIS BLAST HIT, NO MATTER WHAT, EVEN THOUGH THE CHANCES ARE VERY SLIM. I WON'T ALLOW IT!" I roared out in great resolve, preparing to cast the barrier to strengthen the one present.

"If we can't stop it, then we neutralize it," I finally realized, being that the blast had hit the barrier, breaking it upon impact, as a bright white light had erupted... But to my absolute shock, the barrier managed to keep it on hold and neutralize it. It worked, and though so much damage was done, the barrier still held after the great struggle we had put up.

"All unit... Can you read me?" I spoke in hope for a response, but to my great shock, only a few replies were heard. No, "system check, unit protocol!"

I commanded the system to give me full details of units still active. And to my shock, about 89% of the units that kept the barrier up We're deceased... On impact, the barrier drained a massive amount of mana. This was our greatest loss.

"No, no, no, NOOOOO! DAMN IT!" I broke down in tears, as I had lost so many of my comrades in just one minor move by the damn creature. "Shit, I just hope the creature remains stagnant."

"ROOOOOOOOOOOAR!" The dark being roared out while swinging its arms in a fit of rage, being that it started making its way towards some of the other countries around the globe as it walked into the ocean. The sea level had reached its lower calf to just display the massive size it possesses.

"Where in the holy grail is a creature like this from? I can't even read its energy level again, as if its energy level just reads null, unquantifiable." I stared in disbelief as the monster roamed the earth. "What kind of monster is this?"

third person's p.o.v

"YOU DARE BRING ME INTO YOUR WORLD, YOU IMPURE SOUL; I WILL WASTE YOUR WORLD TO ASHES." The colossal creature continued on its path of destruction, with its mana creating a series of explosions that could end states in a single second. "COME OUT EXECUTIONERS!"

The being continued to ravage the entire globe, as just its roars were enough to cause tremors. The being then had enough; it made its way to a state close by as its eyes shone an intense red color. It lifted its head up to the sky and then opened its jaw. A dense amount of dark mana started to form just above its mouth. "I WILL LAY WASTE ON THIS PITIFUL WORLD!"

The orb continued to grow in size, reaching a size comparable to that of the moon. The tide started to rise, and the earth started to rumble from the shear magnitude of the orb.

Was this the end? Everyone stared at the massive orb, which was ready to lay waste to all of them. But suddenly, a magical red circle appeared below the dark titan as it spread on a very massive scale. Chains of glowing white mana had manifested from the surface of the magic circle, reaching out towards the titan, wrapping around its limb, and finally wrapping the muzzle of the being shut, which resulted in the breakdown of the massive orb of dark mana.

"WHAT ARE THESE CHAINS?" The dark being tried to grab the chain in hopes of breaking it. But to its surprise, it phased through its hand and then started to infuse into its very being. " NO! NOT THIS AGAIN! UNBOUND ME! I REFUSED TO BE SEALED AGAIN!"

The being was enraged, moving its body in an animalistic way to break free, but it seemed hopeless.

"Enough, Azul. Your judgment is now."

spoke of a man in armor similar to that of a knight, with the edges having a golden line and the armor being white in color. The man's armor had some bends and tears, and his helmet was busted open, showing half of his face.

His chronicle rose at the back of him, as it had the same glow as that of the magic circle below Azul.

But then, as soon as Azul heard his voice, he raged even more. The being moved his gaze directly at the man in armor standing on a magic circle cast below him as the man stood in the direction of his gigantic muzzle.

"ASURAAAAA! YOUR SOUL IS MINE!" Azul roared; he forced his arm to reach out towards Asura in the hope of crushing him. But just before his monstrous hand could grab him, Asura glared at him and began to chant.

"NOOOO!" Azul shouted out in a fit of rage, knowing what was about to occur due to the chains held on him. He reached out further to grab Asura, but in that occurrence, a spear made of light, far bigger than a skyscraper, had been lunged towards the chest area of Azul, pinning him to the ground.

"He's down now, Asura!" Gantuma, the 8th executioner, spoke from the right side as his voice echoed from his bulky armor, which was severely damaged. He and the 2nd and 4th executioners cast a holy art spell that conjured the giant spear of light while they stayed levitated up in the sky.

"Do it now!" Korra, the 4th executioner, spoke from the left side, with her armor on the verge of destruction.

"Seal him once and for all, Asura!" Shito, the second executioner, spoke with his armor nearly destroyed.

Azul heard what Shito shouted and was enraged to the point of opening his muzzle and releasing a highly condensed orb of pure darkness, launching it at high speed towards the three of them.

"DIE!" The blast had made contact with the three executioners. Disintegrating them into oblivion. Asura saw this; he wore a grim look on his face but turned his face back at Azul, with his eyes turning blood red.

"It's over... Azul

I am the one who drew the line between life and death, the right hand of judgment, and I hold the gift of non-existence banishment.

Azul You have been judged. Begone!

REAPER SEAL: BANISHEMENT!"

The first executioner chanted, with the chains starting to pull Azul into the magic circle, a pillar of light erupted from the circle, consuming Azul wholly.

"ASURA! I CANNOT BE SEALED, AND I WILL NOT BE SEALED!" Azul shot his hand towards Asura to stop him, but Asura retaliated with immediate effect.

"Damn it! Space art: vanish!" Asura cast a space spell, which he warped into a portal that transported him to the barrier-safe point. But sadly, Azul's hand had gone through, and as the portal closed, it severed his hand as it dropped into the base.

"Clear way!" Asura commanded, with the people below standing clear from the impact, although it seemed that a couple with their 11-month-old baby were still in the path.

The couple tried to clear the way, but then the young lady with the child was pushed to the ground by a passerby citizen in panic, which resulted in her dropping her child just at the very center of the cleared space.

"move out!" A voice from the crowd erupted, and a person who seemed to be a priest busted out of the crowd and cast a protective spell on the couple. But not the child, as he didn't notice the child on time.

"Our child!" the couple shouted as the hand from Azul landed upon the baby, and on impact, the hand exploded with dark red fumes, creating a small crater. But then suddenly, the magic circle that held Azul disappeared with him and reappeared on top of the boy.

"Space technique: Grand Barrier!" The first executioner chanted as a red barrier was summoned around the event, but he was inside the barrier to hold it still.

"lord asura!" The dragon guild unit had arrived to help, but it was too late, with Asura outside the barrier.

"Arthur, the final report from the executioners... it's finished." The seal circle turned a bright light with everyone covering their eyes, but then the cries of the baby could still be heard, as the cry sounded distorted and like that of a demon.

"Affirmative, Lord Asura!" Arthur spoke out with a grim expression on his face, and Asura smiled and nodded, disintegrating in the process.

Priest p.o.v

As the barrier Asura set to hold the shockwave broke, I stepped forward with my eyes glowing white and my body also glowing. The pressure from my mana presence was so overwhelming that even the guild units paused in shock at the display of power.

"Please, save my child!" The child's mother pleaded, and as I stretched out my arms to witness the unfolding event, the demonic screams from the child had put everyone on edge.

"Holy Art: Blessed Restoration" A bright light emitted from my chronicle as it overcame the light from the event and then spread towards the rest of the damaged part of the globe. As all of the destruction caused by the titan was back to normal and all the lives taken were returned, except for the executioners,

'amazing... He reversed the causalities. Around the whole globe, Arthur and some of the other guild members were star-struck.

The light started to die down, with the priest's eyes still glowing white and the baby floating in the air, as some strange marks were all over his body and some of his features had changed; his once black hair was now dirty white, as shown clearly.

The mother pushed through the crowd to reach her child, but as she reached the child, the father ran through and pushed her out of the way, grabbing a shard of glass to kill the child.

"This child is not mine anymore! It's a vessel of evil!" The man swung the glass up in the sky to stab the child as the baby opened its eyes and noticed the man.

But before he could do anything, the mother had hugged the baby in her arms. And she took the stab right through her heart. The blood stained the baby as it stared at the mom and started to cry.

"N-no asum- AAAAHHHHH NO, THE CHILD IS NOT MINE, DIE!!!" The man screamed as his features started to change to those of a demon, as dark red fumes started to spill out of his eye sockets, and as his skin started to burn.

Suddenly, there was a pillar of purple light that struck the man. Fully transforming him into a demon... He had fully been corrupted.

"stand clear!" Arthur shouted as some of the people ran back to avoid the demon.

"D-dante," the woman whispered sweetly to her child as she continued to hug him, even though the demon was at her back.

But as the demon was about to hurt her, I acted quickly and cast a protective barrier over the woman and the child.

I stared back at the demon.

'So the man was influenced by the dark mana of Azul. Such a sad fate.' I thought in sorrow, performing a final prayer for the man who was now a demon. I stepped towards the demon, catching it off guard, and placed my right hand on its dark, burned chest.

"Rest in peace.

Holy art: blissful delusion"

I watched as the demon stopped moving and rested its head on my chest while its flames went off, and soon it started to disintegrate slowly.

After that was over, I walked towards the woman and the child. Even when she was at the point of death, she still hugged her baby very close to her.

"Please take care of him." She breathed out her last request and rested her eyes. It was heartbreaking to watch, but I made sure to comply with her last request. It was the least I could do.

"I will." I took the child gently as he stared at me with his red eyes while crying. This will be very painful for him. It was a miracle that he survived.

I started to make my way out of the barrier, but I was stopped by one of the dragon guilds.

"Halt. The child must be delivered to his excellency," uttered Arthur, as he planned to take the child from me and dispose of him. "So I ask you to give the child back, and even you must accompany, as your very unnatural feat showcased is very questionable."

"Or we will handle this by force, priest," Arthur warned. I stood there, staring at him, as I varnished my chronicle and glared at him.

"I will do no such thing... The boy shall remain in my care, as you have no say in this matter, Arthur." I spoke with authority as my eyes glowed white. I continued on my way with the child in my arms, as one of the guild members wanted to stop me again.

'It can't be... Of course, that explains his massive show of power. It's him, the living saint... Alfred Sarutobi's' Arthur figured as he stood straight with respect while maintaining his composure.

"Let him go..." Arthur placed his head down and ordered his comrades. They all went at ease and allowed me to pass. "Apologize, Father Alfred."

He finally He finally noticed. "Hmm," I thought with an audible chuckle.

"So... Dante... Hmm, I don't know your last name, but how about I give you my last name? Let's say Dante Sarutobi. How does that sound?" I said to Dante as he first stared at me with his red eyes. Until he started to laugh and clap his hands in excitement, he liked the name.

"Hahahaha, so Dante Sarutobi it is!" I chuckled as I threw the baby up into the air and caught him back, hugging him.

'You know, for the new vessel of Azul, you're very adorable.' I chuckled as I walked back to the monastery.
