1 1) Blurry Past.

Throughout your childhood, you used to live in a secluded area within the central part of Europe alongside your older sister, Klaara. She's been the one to take care of you ever since both of your mother and father had passed.

It was pretty secluded. The house you live in was surrounded by trees and forests. Occasionally, you would make new animal friends. Whether it was a rabbit or a fox, they were strangely calm around you. Despite your sister's scolding to not go near the animals.

Your sister, Klaara, would cut down some old tree branch to make woodfire. You would also help out in the garden, collecting and planting new seeds of vegetables. It was a nice bonding time with her.

During the winter, you help your sister with woodfire while she goes out for hunting. The nearest town from your place is a 2 day walk, so your sister decided to only buy essential items. And maybe even sell some food for a few bucks of money.

Overall, despite being far from other people, you were already satisfied with your sister.

One day, in the middle of winter, while you were chopping up some wood, you hear a soft thud coming from somewhere near. You gripped the axe tightly in your hands as they slowly approached the source of the sound.

After a while, you started to notice a black figure in the distance. Lying face down into the cold yet soft snow. You started to panic as the possibilities of this person being dead or alive ran across your head.

Quickly dropping the axe, you ran straight towards the side and shook the figure to try and wake them up.

"Hello? Can you hear me?!"

You shouted while shaking the person. You ended up flipping the person over to check their pulse. With a sigh of relief, you were assured that the person was still alive.

"Sis! I need help here!"

You called out to your sister. Using your body, you tried to lift the person up. But with your small body, it was impossible for you to carry them inside alone.

"(Y/N)? What's with all the shouting?"

Klaara peaks out from the window to see what the commotion is all about until she glances at the figure near her younger sibling. She quickly put on her coat and assisted you into carrying this person inside.

With limited resources for them getting through the winter, Klaara had made some leftover hot soup for the guest. Meanwhile, you were helping clean the guest's thick coat from the snow.

The guest takes a spoonful of the soup and softly blows on it to cool it down before taking it into his mouth.

"Thank you, both of you. If it weren't for your kindness, I would've passed in the snow for who knows how long."

The guest chuckles to himself as he continues to eat the soup slowly. Klaara shakes her head, denying that she was the one who found him first.

"It wasn't me who found you! It was actually my younger sibling, (Y/N). My name is Klaara, and you are..?"

She explains. Soon after that, you entered the living room where your sister and the guest were. You handed him his coat back after it was cleaned from the snow.

"Here's your coat sir, are you doing alright?"

You question him as the guest nods with a small smile.

"Thank you, kind child. Please, call me N."

. .

Your vision turned dark. You couldn't see anything.

That memory ended so abruptly.

Why was that?

You opened your eyes to only see a blurred source of light.

'Klaara.. Klaara...'

Your mind shouted, but you couldn't form out the words.

'What is this..? Why.. can't I breathe?'

Your face froze with the same expression you woke with. One thing you didn't realize was that you were not breathing.

.

.

The next thing you know, you shot up from your bed as drops of sweat covered your forehead and neck. You breathed heavily and looked around your bedroom.

"Oh.. Just another drowning sleep."

You tried to calm yourself down by catching your breath. You did wonder, who was this N guy? Everything was a blur in that dream.

A soft meow came from your left. You looked down to realize it was your calico cat. Staring up at you with his big beady eyes.

"Hi. Clement."

You greeted the cat as it jumped up onto your bed and lay down on your lap. You sighed softly with a smile and began to pet him. You look at the clock to see the time.

"Oh, it's 7:28 am."

You said as you continued to pet Clement with a comforting smile.
