1 We Found Him

When watching a show characters tend to have main quirks. They are either intelligent and lack strength while the physically strong have zero intelligence. Then there's the oddball character that has both intelligence and strength. They seem out of place right? Like they should be somewhere better suited for their abilities. They only show up at the last moment to save the day if the main character can't handle it. If they are the main character then they just let other characters take care of the problem or they're the one that teaches them. The world wouldn't be balanced if they tried or got involved. Do they think they're so special that only doomsday scenarios are worth their time? Well, I guess all of that is just fictional and not worth too much thought.

When I mention the world, what is your first thought? Maybe you think of the people, your work, the size, or maybe the solar system. Everything feels so small if you waste your time watching and consuming entertainment without fighting for something. Maybe you go out and rob a bank to get some thrill. Or you could go out and just do plain murder. I've killed people but they had bad intentions.

The world I come from involves wars that have lasted eons. Our people evolved to become weapons and technological advancements ceased to be. People relied on strength, not brains. Countries vaporized, worlds ended, battles still strived. Every battle made us stronger. Looking back those millions of years ago, I think it was worth it. I was the only one who made it so I guess I'm a little biased. Out of all the 5 billion people, I was the last survivor. Every planet in my universe was blown up into chunks of rock. There were a couple left but they were either small or had nothing of use on it. As I saw it, traveling to a different universe would be easier.

I grew up in a family of what I like to call the last generation. People never stopped fighting even to the very end. All politicians were dead and people just enjoyed fighting at that point. It was no longer about who wronged us or the land we wanted.

When my universe's apocalypse neared its end a man from our species stood out. That man was my father. He was a genius beyond comprehension. Someone capable of anything through his intelligence. Even if he wasn't strong he had science. It kept him alive for a full eon. That was a longer length than most of our kind lived at the time. Along with rapid strength improvement our life span improved through generation. Each generation gained around 10,000 years of their life. Better, lasts longer, it's a bit like a battery.

I couldn't count the number of times I've saved earth and other planets. I still remember the first planet I ever visited. The people I met, the things I did and saw. A world where they stopped fighting to move forward. No bodies were spread on the ground. Buildings were built taller than anything I've ever seen. When I was walking down an alley I saw someone pointing a gun at someone. At the time I only knew faintly of what it was so I rushed over and in doing so I bumped into the guy sending him through the building. He died instantly upon the first wall. The guy who was at gunpoint only seconds ago was now terrified of the guy who obliterated the mugger. He ran as fast as he could. The first thing I noticed. Humans are so weak. It made me feel sick. The guts and blood spilled so easily. I could destroy this planet in fractions of fractions of a second but what happens if that thought feels reasonable. Billions of people could die by my hand.

An unstoppable force floating through space seems like an adventure but it isn't that exciting. Most aliens suck. All they care about is land. They conquer planets in hopes of making advancements. If they ever found earth the Scendals would probably rule the universe. I've been to a few universes where it happened and it's not pretty. So many die and the government they make isn't the least bit fair.

Traveling to so many worlds in search of a home is borderline exhausting. Eventually, I gave up on the idea of settling down and decided a long journey would be nice. I can only switch dimensions twice a day before I get tired so I try to only do it once a day. One day, I arrived in a strange world. The world was frozen. Earth was ice along with all other planets. Floating around I felt like I was viewing a museum of all preserved planets. No life but it was vibrant and colorful. Even though ice is physical it felt as though time was frozen alongside the planets. Stars wouldn't move and neither would planets. A planet called Tall was my next stop. I decided Tall would be a good planet to see at a time like this. Its crust is magma. The hottest planet in the entire universe. Crustens can breathe and live in magma so they don't have a hard time. Entering the galaxy I noticed the temperature rise. I knew it. Tall had lights beaming with all colors. They were lights you'd have at a party but Crustens were more a primitive type of species. How did they get this technology?

I flew closer to the planet. It was a party. Lights, music, and solo cups full of something. The surface still has magma but there were platforms on the surface holding them. It looked like wood from Gradsner. It's a planet with the biggest forest in the universe. It's rumored that the trees have a property that makes them indestructible. If it's indestructible then how did they get it here? I need answers, I'm just too curious. I land on one of the platforms to ask about the sudden evolution.

"Hey, do we speak the same language?" I ask one of the Crustens. He turns to me with a confused expression. He turns back around ignoring me. Well, that was strange. I fly back outside of their atmosphere. How could this happen? The entire universe is frozen and they're partying.

I'm blessed with what you would call superintelligence. All the versions of me have the same ability but out of infinite possibilities, there have to be a few of me that don't. The same goes for my strength. You can never trace me. I'm invisible whenever I want to be. I leave no traces behind that would incriminate me or show that I visited a universe. Out of the hundred years I've been traveling I never once ran into another version of me or the gatekeepers of the universe.

The gatekeepers of the universe are huge beings amassing a whopping size of 8 planets. Of course, I've seen them around but they've always failed to spot me. I'm either too fast or I hide behind planets to ensure stealth. They can instantly tell when someone new enters their universe but the location is fuzzy to them and they only really get what galaxy I start in. After that, there isn't a way to track me so they get lost the moment I leave the galaxy. Although I said that I never was spotted by a gatekeeper of the universe, that wasn't entirely true. The first time I heard about them I immediately combed the entire universe in search of one. When I found one I had quite the battle. He was strong and a bit chatty. He kept spatting on about how messing with timeline travel is dangerous and defeating him would be impossible. After I killed him I gained the ability to move through dimensions.

Through my travels, I've killed creatures with the abilities I wanted. A gatekeeper of the universe, a crusten, and many more that held some value. Through all that effort there is still a creature that I haven't killed. A Faft. They're one of the most dangerous and deadly creatures. They're around human height and they have clothes and human-looking faces. They're important because they can control time. I've thought up a formula that could bend time but not fully control it so the Fafts felt kind of threatened but let's move past the back stories.

The reason I can't kill one is that as long as the leader lives you can't kill a Faft. They just keep coming back. All Fafts have bodies that connect directly to the mainstream of time meaning that all of their bodies from different timelines are still connected and replace each other whenever one dies. It's complicated so let's just say that they're immortal, they're a lot like me. Unbelievably strong and resilient. It sucks that we aren't on good terms. Though even with all there power I doubt that it would be impossible for me to end a Faft's life. I've blown up universes before, even by accident once.

I just mentioned Fafts because it seems I'm in a bit of an encounter. While I swapped universes for the day I kinda landed right in their headquarters and wow these guys are a bunch of obsessive girlfriends. I mean wanted poster after wanted poster. Picture after picture in each newspaper. These guys are a little too interested in me. How'd they even get a photo of me? It must have been a different version of me. The multiverse is full of beings who idealize me. I don't say this to brag rather I say it to confirm all the nuances in each universe. There are 13 multiverses but there used to be 15. The creator of the multiverses is still unknown to me but I'll find out one day. Maybe he can be the person to give me a challenge. Anyway the Fafts base is pretty normal considering the species. Not too far off from other planets. Their leader is a special type of Fatf. Much larger and I heard there were thousands of times tougher than one of his spawn. Though the leader is strong they don't have infinite lives like normal Fafts.

In the Faft base I grab a piece of cloth on the floor inside an alley. This could cover my face and since I'm roughly the same height as most Fafts it shouldn't be hard to blend in. The castle is right at the biggest peak. The entire planet is flat with buildings being its only sense of width. The planet has no use for rotation.

Each galaxy has its own set of individual laws that all have at least 3 distinct ones. Laws of gravity, time, and shifting energy are changed in this galaxy. No other planets exist here. It's nothing but the infinite stars. Making my way through the streets reminds me of the universe. So many obstacles yet I tend to glide right by them.

I could destroy this place and even though I like to say these are my ultimate enemy. That the Fafts are these indestructible beings incapable of dying by my hand, I know the truth. If I wanted, nothing could. I take off my robe before I even get close to the top. The Fafts all look. They basically wet themselves. I begin to walk as they shoot beams that tear a creature's entire timeline apart yet I feel nothing. As if it were just a little flick of a finger hitting my skin. No Faft dared get close as I made my way up. Busting down the king's doors as I continued to walk.

"Well here you are. The Universe Hopper. Truly the greatest threat to all the multiverses yet the Keeper hasn't made a move. What did you do to get that guy to back off?" The king monologues.

"Who?" I say avoiding the question as I keep walking.

"So you don't even know their name? For a being so strong you sure are clueless."

"And for being so smart you aren't very strong." I respond. As the words escaped my mouth the king's face grew shocked.

"Oh you thought I didn't know. Well I am ignorant, so I guess it's only natural in your eyes. The power to grant others strength you clearly don't possess. Seems like a useful way to manipulate an entire race. The Fafts were such a weak race long ago and don't try to fact check me. I know my history." The king doesn't rebuttal to my statement.

The guards looked confused yet when the king waved his hand they jumped to attack. The spears push me back, even shocking me. I grab one of their spears and store it through a portal. The other one thrusted his spear but I dodge and snap it. Disarmed, the guards give up. The king sat on his giant throne. Giant creatures always fall the hardest. The blow was quick. But it wasn't mine. I look to my left to see the king's head obliterated against his castle wall. The dust is heavy but finally starts to clear. Ontop the body was me. That smile, like he just accomplished some major feat and was handed an award he believed he didn't deserve. His stance is heavy with everyone in the room already gone.

"Didn't we make this agreement a long time ago? At least we did in this multiverse." I question him.

"Oh you mean the agreement to leave each other to our own universes as we explore infinity. A unanimous vote because the only creatures that can hurt us are our different versions." He responds.

"So I guess that means you're 37? Do you understand what you did? All the lives that were ended the moment you made that mistake. You're nothing but a terrorist."

"A terrorist? That makes sense since you haven't heard the full story. We are power, strength, and intelligence at its peak. Who are we to dampen what was given to us at birth. We talk about traveling in freedom, but you all cloud your reality with this phony ideal. Grabbed hold by a powerful figure far weaker than ourselves." He goes off.

"You watch what you say." I respond quickly.

"Your lack of understanding confirms to me you haven't been around. Do you think what we have is special? Because what we have is nothing but the end of existence." I add on. He gives me a look of disapproval before swiftly heading off.

"You're not going to kill him?" A face appears behind my head.

"If I did this universe or possibly this multiverse would be at risk."

"I see. Even with me backing you up?" The Keeper of the universe proclaims.

"No offense but I'm unsure of how strong he is. I mean he did destroy two multiverses by accident." I explain.

"And that is the reason we're here. He will only do more harm. It's time we all start taking his existence as a threat. Now we know where he is." The keeper states.

Are you caught up or confused? Yeah I snagged this journal off myself back in the castle. I was in town so I stopped by to say hello. Though it's my belief this story shouldn't be told but if it must I should be the one to tell it.

I am 37. Since universe hoppers don't interact they never give identifiers to one another. I'm terrible with names so numbers are my substitute. My life circles around a few things. Food, sleep, and building a few other key factors. I found out just a few minutes ago that another one of my selves has entered the universe I call home. Most creatures in the galaxy can easily tell that a universe hopper has entered their universe.

A warm hand reaching out to me. "You too have a wonderful purpose and that is to be free." I remember those words down to exactly every pause between them. I hung off of that maniacal manipulative son of a bitch's every word. If the word pawn had a picture in the dictionary I would have been the model. The right hand of the keeper. I guess I was special to a being for once and that made me yearn for more.

Anyways, enough about the past. I don't like to travel the universe or the multiverses either. I find it pointless. I use my time more efficiently. Learning doesn't always come from traveling. Sometimes you can learn alot from just staying put. You actually came along at the perfect time. I'll be able to tell you all about the universe.

Sector 53 is a part of the universe that many consider a ghost town of sorts but they don't see the value that I do. It has no rocks or collective gas big enough to call planets but if you look around you'll find a large asteroid. It's roughly the size of galar, hazing, tryter, or pluto. It orbits pretty quickly around this galaxy's personal blackhole. On top the rock is a shop. They specialize in recovery in lost space items or even underground work of sorts.

"37! How's life been?" I hear as I swing open the door.

"Ran into another one." I responded

"Ah, he's here or did he head out?"

"He's around but I don't think he followed me." I am a little unsure.

"So reassuring. Anyway, what are you stopping in for?"

Fred is a fine owner of a store on an asteroid. It floats around and he goes out and collects nothing but the best. Think of it like a lost and found but you can buy other peoples stuff. Some things might be garbage to others but could be extraordinarily valuable to me. Freds always been good to me. He's a genuinely nice guy and loves what he does. I don't actually know what species I would classify him as but he seems to be a mix. A mix is usually shamed upon by most but maybe his kind was cool with it.

"I'm looking around for a few items but couldn't seem to find them. You got any Hetrem on you?"

"Did you check all the spots on the map I gave you?" He asked.

"I checked the Fafts main base but I came up with nothing."

"Sorry to hear that. Luckily, I believe I'm still in stock." He walks into the back and starts to fling things around. Humming a random tune the rummaging eventually stops and he pokes back out. He comes out holding some Hetrem and man, is that quality good.

"You're the best. How much?"

"You know the deal, you pay by keeping me alive."

"Right, I know you're one of the only beings that knows I'm here, but you don't need to be so cautious."

"Can't be helped. Your existence itself shouldn't even be possible so I need to be prepared for anything. No amount of rocks could defend against the weakest version of you."

"Well regardless, if I catch wind of someone on your tail I'll make sure you're good." I say walking out with hetrem in hand.

Well now that I have this hetrem I can finally make this weapon. The fly would be long but distance and time of travel are irrelevant to me. I could circle the universe 100 times before a flies wing flaps 1 trillionth of the way down. Of course that also means my eyes can see just as fast. I can even see this giant wave of power flowing towards me. Huh, well you don't see that every day. The wave of energy began shaking the asteroid like an earthquake. The door of the shop swings open.

"What the hell is going on out here? Can you clap this energy way?" Fred asks, very annoyed by the situation.

"I would but there's too much. Like maybe even 20 times too much for me to deal with." I don't know what else to say other than I'm confused and shocked.

"If you can't stop it then that can only mean one thing." Fred comes to a conclusion.

"There are at least 20 other versions of me here."

"Guess you didn't get off the hook that easily." Fred began to panic a bit.

"The gatekeepers of the universe can't hold these guys for long. I'll have to get outa here. Lucky for me, I know where they are and since I haven't used a portal they have no idea where I am." I know I mentioned that I could travel across the universe really fast but the level I was talking about would easily destroy this place. Trust me when I say I know from experience. That's how I know I have time to think for a bit. But what do I do?
