Infiltration (1)

A/N: When I wrote this chapter, I realized the pain of explaining a fight in RWBY without pictures or 3D animation. Hopefully, it's still understandable to most of you XD.

The Facility they had invaded followed a pretty simple structure. It was completely sealed off from the outside world by energy-generated force shields. By that means, the only way to get in and out was by aircraft. The surface level handled packaging and moving, so it was a maze of shipping containers.

However, near the center was the main building that had an elevator stretching down to an underground level. Manufacturing and whatnot would be handled at this underground level. Of course, located somewhere on that level would be their goal which was the Central Computer controlling it all.

"It's a broad day so we have to be careful. All communications should be offline so we don't have to worry about being noisy but we should still avoid alerting them till we have what we need. From what I remember about these factories the only way to access the elevator is the main building but that needs a keycard."

Blake explained as she took the lead in sneaking through the maze of Shipping Containers. "So who's our target?" Shen asked while looking around. "The Chief Of Security should be here somewhere. We find him and then we can make our way through the rest with no issues." Hearing that, Shen nodded as he peeked around the corner they were on.

'The security here consisted of a mix of normal personnel and robots. Let's see just how much XP they give.' A smile flashed across Shen's face as he spotted a guard on patrol. Blake didn't expect Shen to act first as he rushed from behind the Shipping Container and threw his hand towards the Guard. "Huh?"

Seeing Shen, he raised his gun and fired off one shot as red enveloped his vision. Tightening the Life Fiber around the Guard's body, he slammed him against a nearby container and held him there. Seeing Shen had handled it, Blake came from around the corner and walked up next to him. Shen manipulated the Life Fiber's, giving the Guard the ability to speak.

"Where is your Chief Of Security?" Shen asked the Guard but heard no response after waiting. Slowly he closed his hand a bit, and in turn, the Life Fibers wrapped around the guard's body began to constrict as well. "Agh!" A painful moan was let out from his mouth as he bit down on his teeth. "I'll ask again where is the Chief Of Security?"

"You- You dirty Faunus can all go to hell." Blake seemed to have no reaction to the guard's words, as if she was used to them. But at the same time, she glanced at Shen looking at his expression. Seeing that he wasn't going to talk, Shen's face darkened a bit, and he was prepared to crush the Guard to death.

But then an idea came to mind, and instead, he swiped his hand down, slamming the guard to the ground and knocking him out. "You let him go?" Blake seemed surprised as Shen turned to her. "If I continued he would have ended up dying. I hate and despise humans but I'm not willing to fall as low as killing them. Our goal is to strike fear in them after all not spark a war."

Listening to Shen, Blake's eyes shined slightly as she nodded and noticed something wrong with his shoulder. "You got shot?" Her tone spiked, causing Shen to look, and indeed his shoulder was bleeding. The bullet clearly didn't go all the way through, but nevertheless, it still was there. 'Oh that's strange, I didn't feel any pain.'

Coming out of his thoughts, Shen put his hand over the wound and began manipulating the Life Fibers in his own body. The next second, Blake blinked in disbelief as Shen moved his hand from his shoulder, and the wound was gone. Not only that, his uniform was repaired, and the bloodstains disappeared. "There we go problem solved."

Shen did not go into details, and Blake just stared at his shoulder in shock before shaking her head. "Right uh... If you're ok then let's go." Taking the lead again, Blake ran ahead. Shen glanced at her for a moment before glancing back at the unconscious guard. A Life Fiber slowly wrapped around the guard's neck.

A few seconds later, a light snap rang out before Shen ran ahead and caught up with Blake. After killing the Guard, he immediately opened his Menu and looked at his XP gain. 'Now that's more I like it!'

{Personal Information}

Name: Shen

Level: 4 [375/1000]

..

Originally he had 335 XP, but Shen felt something interesting happen. When he defeated the guard, he got 10 XP which was barely anything in the long run. But compared to when he killed four Police Officers in Mistral for 20, there was a clear difference. However, when he killed the Guard after knocking him out, which counted as a defeat, he got 30 extra EXP.

'So does that mean defeating your enemy and then killing them is worth more? If so then I get ⅓ of the killing XP from defeating them plus the full XP from killing them.' Overall he had made 40 XP from that one Guard despite just putting on an act in front of Blake. "Hey did you hear anything a few seconds ago?" As he ran alongside Blake, Shen heard her question and shook his head.

"No, why?" Blake thought to herself before speaking again. "Never mind, it was probably just my imagination." The two of them continued to make their way deeper towards the center of the main building. On the way, the two of them took out multiple patrolling robots and the guard's the latter of which Shen 'Dealt' with them after knocking them out.

"Wait a second." Blake stopped as she spotted a group in the distance. A man being escorted by five guards and two robots was making their way towards the main building. Blake's eyes followed him for a moment before constricting. Compared to the normal guard uniforms, his was clearly more complex, and the escort made it all too obvious.

"That's who we're after, you ready?" She turned back and saw Shen nod lightly. After fighting alongside him for a while, she had gotten a lot less stiff when speaking. "Alright don't worry about alerting anyone just get that keycard." With that, she broke into a dash moving at full speed. Unsheathing her weapon, she threw it towards the head of one of the robots leading.

As it flew, a gunshot rang out from it increasing its speed while catching the group's attention. The blade end of Blake's 'Gambol Shroud' went straight through the robot's head as she jumped into the air. Then, pulling on the ribbon of the blade, she grabbed it mid and descended onto the group.

On the other hand, Shen took a more direct approach and ran full speed towards one of the guards. "Intruders!" Finally, one of them screamed as they prepared to fight, and the Chief Of Security fell back. A solid blow landed directly into one of the guard's stomach's as their eyes glazed over to white.

Meanwhile, Blake, who was in the air, crashed down onto one of the guards with both of her leg's knocking him out instantly. Soon the remaining android and three guards began opening fire on the two of them. Dodging to the right, Blake began swinging her weapon around her body using the ribbon similarly to a rope dart.

The blade cut through the air as it began slashing into the nearby android's body while also deflecting the incoming shots. Shen quickly pulled one of the guards that were distracted by Blake towards him in a tugging motion. As soon as he got in range, Shen grabbed him by the face and slammed his head into the ground.

Thanks to them being in the middle of a fight, Blake couldn't pay attention to if he was killing them or not. The Chief Of Security, who was watching the duo cleave through his escort, turned around and began to run while reaching for his scroll. "Aaah!" Continuing to fire, the two remaining guards had fear growing in their hearts by the second.

Swinging her weapon around her neck, the blade end cut the remaining Android's head clean off and flew into the air as its body collapsed to the ground. Sheathing her weapon behind her back, she jumped slightly towards the head that was in the air and kicked it towards one of the remaining guard's knocking him out.

Also, wrapping thing's up, Shen moved in a zigzag pattern avoiding the last Guard's efforts to shoot him before jumping over him. Red strings fell from Shen's hands while he was in the air, attaching himself to the guard's shoulders. With one swift pull, Shen swung the guard off his feet and slammed into the ground in front of him.

[Level Up!]

[New Potential Functions are now open to review.]

Hearing the robotic voice, Shen's eyes widened in surprise as he thought to himself. 'Yes!' Blake, on the other hand, hadn't noticed this and turned and looked towards the fleeing Chief Of Security. "You got him?" Feeling she had a good grasp on how Shen's powers worked, she simply stood there. Shen snapped out of his surprise and waved his hand.

Life Fibers flew forward at a breakneck pace and wrapped themselves around the fleeing man's legs, causing him to trip and drop the scroll. "No! No!" Feeling himself being dragged back, he struggled, but it didn't change a thing. Soon the dragging stopped, and when he turned around on his back, he saw both Shen and Blake.

"You two.. You're with the White Fang! How did you two get here!" Before giving him an answer, Shen slammed his foot down on his chest, forcing him against the ground, unable to move. Blake bent down and looked at the Chief Of Security and began searching his clothes. Soon she found what she was looking for, pulling a small keycard off of his body.

Observing it for a moment, she flipped it around and spotted something that made her bite her lip. "What's your pin number?" The man snarled and turned his head away from her. "I don't know what the hell you're talking about." Shen looked towards the man under his foot before turning to Blake. "What's wrong?"

Blake sighed and explained. "This kind of card is different from the one I was expecting. It'll still work with the door but it requires the pinumber of the user as well." Hearing that, Shen understood as he looked back to the Chief Of Security. The pressure he was putting on his chest immediately increased twofold, causing the man's breathing to slow and for him to cough.

"Tell us the pin." Blake said it again but this time in a colder voice, sounding rather threatening compared to normal. If they didn't get this pin, then all this would be for naught. Despite it being hard to breathe, the Chief still managed to insult her. "Why don't… You crawl back to the den you came out of you bas- " Before he could finish speaking, Shen's foot pressed down even harder.

'Of course the people hired by the Schnee's have to have their stupid pride. But at this rate its going to make me lose tons of potential XP. What to do…' Shen began racking his brain as Blake did the same. It was obvious he wasn't going to talk, and they didn't have all day to try and force it out of him. That was when an idea hit Shen as he opened his System Menu. Instead of the usual format, he saw something he hadn't seen before.

{Available System Functions}

Inventory: Give's the user a limitless pocket dimension that is capable of holding an infinite amount of mass. While living matter can not enter this space, anything else will be kept in a stasis-like state until removed.

Inspect: While a function, this is also technically an Ability/Skill and, as such, can be leveled up. Capable of showing information and stats on any living or nonliving thing. It becomes increasingly more useful to point it can even begin showing weaknesses or giving tips as it level's up.

Gacha: This will allow the user access to a special menu to gamble using any form of currency as long as it is found adequate. After selecting a category, a random number of selections from that category will be put onto a roulette. When spun, the user will get whatever the spin lands on.

Shen had to admit the System did not disappoint. 'So reaching Level 5 was a type of milestone and this can be considered the reward?' Reading over all of it quickly, Shen was in a mix of being happy and sad. While he was almost one hundred percent positive, he would get the chance to select one of these again, and the System was only letting him choose one at a time.

And of course, all of them had to be extremely useful as well. After staring for a moment, Shen shook his head. 'Whatever for now I have to get past my current obstacle. I'll wait till I have time to really think it over before deciding.' Who knows when he would reach another milestone in the eyes of the System, so he wasn't going to rush into the decision. Moving away from the tempting options, he switched to a different menu within the System.

{Personal Stats}

Points: 5

Physical Strength: 11 (+15)

Endurance: 5 (+20)

Dexterity: 16 (+15)

Power: 10 (+5)

...

All of the stats here affected him one way or another. For example, endurance would affect his stamina and how much punishment his body could take, and how strong it was overall. And in the same manner, the Power stat was not related to his Strength but his abilities. If he had a skill like a Jutsu from Naruto, he would most likely have a related type of Chakra Control Ability.

In the end, while he could perform that Jutsu, no matter how well he could control it, his mastery ect would be based on the level of the Chakra Control Ability. But if he wanted to control its power or size, it would be related to his power stat, which controlled that section of the skill. So, all in all, you could say abilities, skills, and the power stat were all closely related.

Right now, out of everything, even with him being a Life Fiber-Hybrid and obtaining bonuses from it, his power was his lowest stat. Meaning the strength of his Life Fibers was relatively weak, yet they could still get him this far, which spurred Shen's current train of thought. 'In the world of Kill La Kill there was one ability in particular that Life Fibers had that could assist me.'

With barely any hesitation, Shen began pouring all five of his Points into power. He immediately began to feel a change, as if something in his body was expanding, but he couldn't describe what. After feeling that sensation for a moment, Shen snapped back to reality and closed his System out.

Around three minutes had passed, but they were still in a bad situation, and it was clear Blake was begging to stress out. "Blake, I might have an Idea. Hold him still for a second." Blake looked at Shen, confused but complied. While holding down the Chief Of Security, she saw Shen bend down and placed his hand on the man's head.

"What are you-" Being able to breathe and speak again and catch his breath, the Chief immediately tried to overpower Blake but failed, and soon his mouth shut. Although Blake couldn't see it from her perspective, the Chief Of Security saw a cold glint flash through Shen's eyes which seemed to envelop him.

Life Fiber's escaped from Shen's palms. However, unlike the other times, these ones weren't thin to the point you could cut someone or close to being invisible. They also were not dense enough to wrap around someone and tie them up. No, these ones seemed almost phantom-like as they phased through the man's skull and tangled themselves around his very brain.

As if a cord was cut, the man's eyes slowly became dull like a puppet. The Fiber's continued to wrap themselves around his brain and tighten more and more. As they did so, Shen was doing only one thing, and that was forcing his will. His very will flowed through the Life Fiber's and, in turn, began injecting his will, quite literally poisoning the man's mind.
