Walking Out The Door

Chapter 4: Walking out the Door

Three days ago

5:47 PM

Jacks beside his unconscious mother's body. Teresa leans on a wall in the patient room, her steady gaze directly on Jack.

"Leave. You are obstructing my thought process".

"If I leave, who will save you when the Ankou show up again".

"Do not ridicule yourself. That Ankou was only able to get close to me, because I over underestimated it. That will not happen again".

Teresa walks towards Jack, and grabs his left arm. Then she pulls him away from his mother.

Confused as to what Teresa was trying to accomplish, Jack uses his free hand to grip the arm that was gripping on his.

"What are you doing? Moss head!"

"Don't you want to get stronger? Follow me and I'll teach you how to actually fight, so you can protect yourself and the people you care about".

Teresa releases Jack's arm from her grip, and Jack follows suit.

"So what do you say? You coming?"

"I am not interested. I already know how to fight".

Teresa turns towards the door and slowly walks towards it.

"If that's what you believe, I guess you don't need me"

In a split second, Teresa was already behind Jack, with her blade on his neck.

"Heh, you contradict yourself a lot. You should know that actions speak more than words."

Shocked as to how Teresa was able to get behind him, without him noticing, Jack lashes out:

"If you think I am weak! Let us duel, so I will show you the difference between heaven and earth! If I win, you leave and never come back! But, if you happen to win, I will follow you!

Teresa walks pass Jack as she actually heads to the door.

"That sounds reasonable enough. But, do you really want to duel a Lieutenant General in a building, with your mother in it?"

Jack attempts to land a surprise kick on Teresa's Head. But, is effortlessly dodged by Teresa.

"This has to be your gift, It is a speed type. But, I beat you at your own game".

Teresa gazes at Jack with a confused expression on her face.

Then, she appears behind him, and strikes his neck before he could even react. Knocking him out.

"Seriously I don't know where he gets that confidence from. I'm guessing it's from you".

A mysterious black haired man wearing a black cloak appears sitting down on Jack's mother's bed.

"Of course, he gets that from his mother. He was raised by her and not me, after all".

"I'm leaving, so get going too".

"Already?"

"I have to take your kid to my house, before it gets too dark. It's them right? They did this".

"Yeah. I had no say in it".

"I'm off".

Then Teresa carries Jack on her back and finally walks out out of the room.

7:11 PM

Jack wakes up laying down on the backseat of Teresa's car. He sits up and places his palm on his forehead.

Teresa notices that Jack had woken up and looks at him, from the driver's seat.

"Looks like you've woken up".

"What am I doing in your automobile. I thought I told you to leave me alone."

"Don't you remember? We made a deal and I won."

Jack bows his head in denial.

"I am the strongest. There is no way I can loose!"

Then his tune somewhat changes to a depressed tune.

"Now I see, I don't think I would have won even if I didn't underestimate that Ankou".

Tears roll down his eyes.

"If I am not the strongest, then what am I? What makes me special? It's my fault that mother's in a coma."

Teresa looks back at Jack and smirks.

"So, after all the endless bragging, you really plan on giving up, and you claimed to being the Str__"

"Don't be silly, I am not giving up".

Then Jack looks at Teresa with a serious expression.

"Please, teach me. I know now, that at my level I am not even close to being the strongest, but I trust that with your help... I can become the strongest."

"That's more like it."

"So, when and where do we start".

Teresa smiles

"My House. The Za head family house."
