Uncovering secrets

"I can't believe you let her go. You were so close." These were the first words Ella pronounced when she came to her senses after an hour, unhappy she refused to meet his eyes.

"Are you feeling alright?" Roy inquired touching her forehead, checking her temperature, when she didn't answer, her words registered his mind. "I asked her to come with me but she denied. She is a gone case Elle. Do you feel another headache?"

"I'll be fine." She uttered, dejected that their trip here went futile. "What am I supposed to say to Ty?" she whispered in stress. Her head was aching, ribs were throbbing, she didn't think she would be able to prolong to fight any further.

Roy stared at her distraught expression, getting angrier with every minute of helplessness to be here for her. "I will talk to him." He tried consoling her in hope that she would be less distressed. "Elle, stop thinking too much."

"You should have taken me to her."

"And then? Risk you away to be in the Prince's arrest. That girl could be manipulated to believe everything happening with her was for her own good. She was no better a trap than the blondes we encountered in our way." He was irritated with her insistent nature of helping everyone around her. Noticing her shiver slightly, he covered her with the blanket till her neck which was gratefully rewarded with a moan.

"We shall talk later in the morning." He bent down to kiss her temple but she moved to face the other side of the bed, he was disappointed yet kissed the back of her head murmuring, "Try to put me away from you Elle, you won't succeed. None have."

Involuntarily a string of sense spread her form, making the hair on her body stand alert to his closeness, more so to his words. Did he mean what she thought? She kept wondering the entire night when he was asleep next to her, when he shifted to her in his sleep, when he wrapped his arms around her and also when he stayed the same till the daylight.

The flight back to their homeland was in luxury compared to the way they had arrived in the city of oil. The trip was something even Ella couldn't refuse to take up to, especially when last night she and Roy were searched in the Palace Heaven. That was enough indication for them to leave the country as soon as possible.

"The Saudis are strange people." Ella commented when she was buckling her seat in the copter arranged within a short period of time. The rush was so sudden after the news of the hotel being hijacked to search for the couple, that Ella felt they would never make it to their home. Unkempt hair and attire of shirt and pant later, she was ready to get off even though Roy insisted she rest for the day to leave in the night.

"What do you have in your mind?"

"They are acting as if we have stolen some precious gems from them, when we haven't got Ty's sister with us."

"People have different ways of showing their anger."

"I wasn't showing anger in any different way. No one likes to be told you are won by someone." She retorted at his line.

"What would you have liked me to tell?" He asked sweetly in the headphones as the blades whirred to take them up in the air.

"Like... the girl chose the man," she blurted out drunkenly, her heart beat rising with the pressure she was experiencing in the pit of her stomach.

"I am extremely sorry. But it was me who was reciting the story, of course I will be the main lead to win my girl."

Ella couldn't make an expression of replying to his logic, her fingers clutching the arm seats with both her hands. "When... will I... stop thinking... vomiting?"

"When you will calm your heart down. Sink your back to touch the seat, give in to relax your body. Slowly." He was seated opposite to her giving her directions to overcome her first flight in a helicopter. Minutes passed before Ella was breathing through her mouth, tiredly turning her gaze on his, she spoke in a controlled manner, "Enjoying my distress?"

Taking continuous breaths, Ella would remain stable when the vehicle moved in a swift line, then her heart would rise up rapidly as the direction changed.

"Observing you."

She rolled her eyes at him or tried to, the copter changed its course again. "How long till we reach London?"

"We are not going to London. I can't have you damaging the interiors with your contents from your stomach."

"How caring!" she spat at him who grinned at her expectedly. Glaring at his mockery she looked out of the window then, "Where are we going?"

"Romania. From there we can embark to London."

"Still too far." She responded in the mike of headphones hanging around her head.

"It's the nearest country not under the vicinity of Zayn Khan. If I could, I would have made this easier for us. But he is hunting for you Elle and he won't stop anytime soon." Ella thought she saw Roy holding back rest of the words which was strange. She had ensured to stay by his side the whole time yesterday and then this morning as well, looking out for any irregular actions from him but he was being careful.

Careful than previously. Maybe due to her confrontation yesterday. Thus she kept mum, reasoning that she would find it out than ask him to never get direct answers.

"You should sleep. The ride would be long and tiring," Roy mentioned to her.

She nodded closing her eyes, willing herself to relax in her seat like a comforter than a hurricane constantly switching directions to reach their destination. She could never imagine hearing him sigh so deeply in the headset perched around his ears, it perceived as if he was tired and sorry for something. Or maybe it was her imagination to view his reclined state after he told about moving to the other country.

Opening her eyes a bit, she glanced at him who was looking out at the window, she thought that he might be view something outside but the more she focused on his eyes, she knew he was not watching anything in particular. His eyes were distant and engrossed deeply, such that he had been tapping his finger on the phone he placed in his right hand. As if waiting for a call but of course there was no network this up.

Just then a notification sounded in his phone. She wouldn't have heard it if he hadn't brought the phone near the audibility of the mike. Continuing her pretense, she closed her eyes briefly when he moved his head towards her, then reopened to catch a peaceful stance from him. His eyebrows were no longer frowning, no longer was he waiting for a call as he kept the phone back in his pocket.

By the time Ella Kingsly drifted to sleep she had discovered two things; There was signal with them being up away from the network area and that Roy was hiding more sinister secrets she had to uncover. Else why would he be possessing a military device capably used by the experts only.
