Chapter 1 A Friend from the Past

Ji-Soo sat at her desk, staring at her laptop screen with a feeling of despair. She had just graduated from college and was now on the hunt for a job. She had sent out countless resumes and gone on dozens of interviews, but nothing seemed to be working out.

As she scrolled through her social media feed, she came across a familiar name. It was Min-Jae, a boy she had gone to school with from elementary school all the way up to high school. They had never been close in school, but they had reconnected on social media a few years ago.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she clicked on his profile. As she scrolled through his posts, she couldn't help but notice how much he had changed. In school, he had always been quiet and reserved, but now he seemed more confident and outgoing.

She decided to send him a message, asking how he was doing and what he had been up to since graduation. To her surprise, he responded quickly and they began chatting regularly. They caught up on each other's lives, sharing stories of their adventures and struggles.

Ji-Soo confided in Min-Jae about her struggles with finding a job. She had always been a thrill-seeker, seeking out adventure and excitement wherever she could find it. But now, she was stuck in a rut, feeling unfulfilled and unsure of her future.

Min-Jae listened patiently, offering words of encouragement and support. He even went as far as to recommend her to a friend who was looking for someone to help out at his company. Ji-Soo was surprised and grateful for the opportunity, and she quickly sent over her resume.

Within a few days, she received a call back and was offered the job. She was overjoyed and couldn't wait to tell Min-Jae the good news. They continued to chat regularly, and Ji-Soo found herself enjoying their conversations more and more.

As they talked, Ji-Soo began to realize that Min-Jae was not the same person she had known in school. He was confident and charming, with a quick wit and a kind heart. She found herself drawn to him in a way she never had before.

But she pushed those thoughts aside, telling herself that they were just friends. After all, they had never been close in school, so why would things be any different now? Yet, as the days went by, Ji-Soo couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more between them.
