You are Satan. Right?

A young woman sat in complete darkness.

It was thirty minutes past two, and though her neighbors slept peacefully, she was wide awake. The cryptic and moist room she sat in reeked of blood, and as she stroked a match, the glint of many bloodthirsty contraptions dangled and crouched in each corner- as if they were waiting for the next taste of flesh to indulge in.

A scene fresh from a nightmare. Yet, the one sitting in the middle of it was indifferent to her surroundings.

She picked up a blade and cringed before bringing it to the palm of her hand.

Deep red seeped out, hitting the scabbed circle on the floor. As it did, she recited the words the elderly lady told her,

"Egredere! unus magnanime facite vocem Tuam audivi!"

she braced herself for what was to come next.

...

"Wait, did I not do it right?"

Her calm enchantress like demeanor vanished as she pulled an age-worn book from the floor and started flipping through the pages trying to identify her mistake.

'I was sure I did it right! That old vixen freakin' lied! I'm going to have a word with her later...'

She finally found the page she was looking for and scanned the illustration provided. Before she could confirm she did it right, the candles in the room blew out.

'?'

"I have graced you with my presence-"

The intense voice struck through the room like a clap of lightning, a blue luminosity exposed the dark corners and nearly blinded her.

The girl smiled.

She did complete the spell properly.

"Which mortal dare summon me?!"

The girl cleared her throat. As she did, she could feel its eyes land on her. This was her last chance. 'Don't mess this up Follia...'

"Sire, I have summoned you... to ask a favor."

"...Oh? And do you know the price you must pay for this 'favor'?"

"Yes."

Follia's heart was racing so hard she was almost sure she would have a heart attack within 20 minutes.

"What do you wish for then?"

"Sire, I will let you have my soul, so please, kill me!"

The room went quiet. The girl shut her eyes so tight that she trembled.

She summoned him in hopes he would take her life? The demon grinned at the request.

Well, she definitely called the right one for that.

'I would've taken your soul even if you didn't want me to!'

The girl could see the deep electric blue fade to more manageable lux, but what was taking it so long?

She opened her eyes out of curiosity and was greeted by a pair of deep green eyes.

Before she had time to respond, an atrocious pain swelled from her stomach to the rest of her body. She gasped for air as her vision faded and she fell to the ground.

Her eyes, still wide from shock flickered out, becoming dull and lifeless.

He sighed.

Mortals always underestimated the power he possessed.

The girl had a strong spirit though, she had summoned him without the aid of others, which was rather admirable.

Yet, she gave it away for such a dumb favor.

His mood brightened by imagining the taste of such a powerful soul.

"It's not like she didn't have a choice."

He reached down to take her soul.

"Wait, you are Satan. Right?"

Her stiff lifeless body jerkily turned towards him, making eye contact.

The girl held a confused look in her eyes.

"Because, if you were, you would've definitely been able to kill me."

She lurched up.

"OMG! You're an impostor! What's up with everyone lying to me!?"

The girl went on a tangent about how the world thinks she's stupid.

Satan watched in horror.
