21 Chapter 21

I now had a map in my vision… that surprisingly didn't hinder my vision at all… does that make sense? It's like I could see it, but I could see what my 'real' eyes can see as well. I didn't know its limits exactly, but I know a few things already. It maps anywhere I've been before, adding as much details as I laid my eyes on. It even saved where the cars were, but I don't know if it follows them in real time. It doesn't show where my allies are, or where my enemies would be, so it wasn't really overpowered, though I hope it will be in the future. I know how frustrating it is to play against someone with a Wall-hack / Radar-hack, I wouldn't mind cheating if it keeps me alive.

The [Sprint] skill is something I'm going to grind the hell out of, because of its cheer potential. I will be trying looking for ways to level my skills, my tests were inconclusive so far, but I'm not giving up any time soon. The [Empowered Strike] proved its worth in battle, and as the cost diminishes, my overall power grows exponentially, at least when it comes to melee fighting.

As for the skills I've gained through the quest… I have no idea how that works. Right now, I don't feel like I know how to drive or how to use a handgun, since I don't remember doing either things before. I'll have to put it to the test once I'm behind the wheels, if I get the opportunity.

The system upgrade is also something to take note of. I've unlocked the system's clock, which was pretty neat, but also the 'Titles' menu, though I only have one.

[The Unbound]

The system doesn't tell me what it does, but judging from the name, it can't be something bad. It basically means that I have no limits, right? Or something like that? I'm not sure.

My status screen was starting to become impressive. I have gained 5 END, but my stamina only increased by 30, which tells me one thing: stats aren't one dimensional as I previously thought. I had 5 END before, and it gave me 200 Stamina. My END doubled, but I didn't get 200 extra SP. So, either Stamina is related to the other stats as well, or there is something else at play I am unaware of. Also, I could now see how much EXP I needed to level up.

As 'the crowd' dispersed, I went to clean myself. We had no showers, so I just filled a bucket of water from the nearby pond, and adjusted the temperature with boiled water. It was pretty cold at night, and I didn't want to risk falling ill.

Dinner was served just after, because everyone was tired from the long day. It was a quiet affair, we didn't have any energy left to talk, and even though my stamina was full, I could barely move myself. I was sore all over, and in desperate need of sleep. And as soon as we finished eating, I went to bed without a care in the world, and fell asleep within minutes, even though it was quite early in the night, about 8:30 PM.

I woke up at dawn, probably because I slept pretty early, and felt refreshed. I could still feel some soreness, but it wasn't as intense as the previous day, which is definitely weird. I have been to the gym before, and I know how bad it feels after a day of training, yet I felt none of it. But I had no explanation for it, so I let it go.

I had a few options available to me: go back to sleep, pass time cloud gazing Shikamaru-style, or do something productive instead. I was already awake, so my choice was obvious. I changed into something lighter, and walked out of camp. I saw Dale already awake, on top of his RV, chilling. Speaking of which, I don't know the details about who stands guard at night, IF there was any. Honestly, I half expected them not to have set up shifts, because why should they? They never had to face walkers this far from the city.
