Chapter 10: UNLOCKING THE STORE

'Boom!'

The general crashed into the ground as a cloud of dust rose into the air, his arm and sword soon followed. He was still alive but was in no shape to fight again.

"Cough! Ugh! Just how strong is this bastard?"

He said in disbelief while coughing up blood, after struggling for some seconds he managed to stand on his feet but they were wobbly right now.

Looking up he saw Jin floating to the ground with a majestic form. His blood stained spear clutched firmly in his hand and his red hair that flowed freely behind him, he looked like some war god descending on the battlefield.

"You lose general, your lives are mine now" Jin said as he landed on the ground just in front of the feeble general.

"Haha, you brat! Don't think you've won, the fight is not yet over!" The general said and signalled his troop "Do it now!"

Upon receiving the order, they all swarmed Jin, encircling him. The previous look of anger and indignation on their faces when they saw how Jin beat up their leader, was immediately transformed into a look of determination as they all sought to bring down Jin.

"Haha, even if I die here you will be joining me you fucking brat! See you in hell! Hahaha!" The general guffawed as he saw his group making their way earnestly towards them, they were all pumped and we're making each move with the intent to kill.

"Hehe, you have really outdone yourself general, but I think you have it mistaken. I will be the one to make sure they meet up with you soon, not the other way around. Hehehe!" Jin said to the general and stabbed through his heart with his spear.

"Ding! Killed a 6th level of the golden core stage cultivator! Gained 300 points!"

The system notification sounded.

The general gave Jin one last look of indignation and defiance before plopping to the ground dead.

"General!"

"Nooo! The general has been killed!"

"Kill this fucking bastard and avenge the general!"

"For the general!"

The troop swarmed Jin like wild dogs chasing after a prey. The all performed their techniques in a bid to strike Jin down.

Jin was unperturbed by their ruckus. Slightly turning his head, he was able to see one of the fighters close to him make a thrust at him with their sword.

Spotting a smile, he made a back flip and evaded the sword that was coming his way. While still in the air, he stabs the person that attacked him in the back of his neck, ending his life instantly.

'Plop! Land!'

Jin landed gracefully and without wasting time sped into the crowd of incoming attackers. Immediately he got into their midst he began swinging his spear according to some techniques he leaned from his spear arts.

"Flowing crescent slash!"

"Illusory piercing Fang!"

With strength, one man can defeat a thousand.

With each swing and stab Jin made, heads were flying off people's shoulders and holes were oozing blood. He was literally a skull reaper. Bodies piled up steadily and blood kept spurting out from sliced necks, dyeing the ground red.

"Take my move you brat!"

One of them yelled as he slashed across Jin's back, he felt his sword connect with Jin's back but when the sliced robe came off, the only thing that showed he was attacked was the white line on his back.

'Swish! Swish!'

Without even turning around, Jin slashed his spear backwards twice and detached the man's arms from the elbow and finally his head.

The fighters persisted as is high on chicken blood, they had no fear in their eyes. The only thing ringing in their heads was to take revenge for their general.

"Ding! Killed an 8th level of the foundation building stage cultivator! Gained 120 points!"

"Ding! Killed a 10th level of the foundation building stage cultivator! Gained 170 points!"

"Ding! Killed a 5th level of the foundation building stage cultivator! Gained 60 points!"

"Ding! Killed..... Gained..."

"Ding! Killed..... Gained..."

"Ding! Killed..... Gained..."

The system's notifications kept blaring in Jin's ears. He took gave all his attention to the ongoing battle. People were losing their limbs, heads and bodies kept piling up.

During this fight, Jin's demeanour was going through a change. With more deaths to his name, his body kept absorbing the abundant death aura as his killing intent became more intense, sharp and ferocious.

People of the same cultivation realm as him would barely be able to match him based on the pressure from their killing intent. Blood flowed, heads rolled and lives came to an end.

The fight went on for another 45 minutes before Jin finally killed the last person who was running away by throwing his spear at him. By this time he was completely drenched in blood, he was only left with his trousers as the robe was shredded mid fight.

"Ding! Killed a 6th level of the foundation building stage cultivator! Gained 80 points!"

'Ding!'

"Mission completed!"

"Issuing mission reward!"

"Congratulations! The host has obtained high grade spirit stone x1000! Treasure map piece (2/3)! Tempest leg technique! Qi replenishing pill x10!"

"Proceed to storage space to extract the rewards!"

The system notification sounded, indicating that Jin had completed the issued mission. He didn't extract the rewards immediately but rather sat down with his back rested on a tree and went through his status.

Seeing the amount of system points he had was enough to unlock the system store, Jin didn't waste any time and gave the order.

"Unlock store!"

'Ding!'

"10k points deducted! System store unlocked successfully!"

Series of 'dings' and notification banners popped up, immediately, the accumulated points were drained and just a fraction of it was left.

"Finally the store has been unlocked! It was not an easy task but it has been completed"

Jin said to himself. He had been looking forward to the day he would be able to buy things from the system store. It was like a dream come true.

"Open store!" Jin gave the order and the system interface changed.

The store was neatly divided into cultivation methods, combat techniques, pills, weapons, natural treasures, spirit stones and metal ores and generally anything that could be useful in a world of cultivation.

He quickly went to the combat technique section and multiple techniques with powerful names appeared, burning fist art, autumn sword technique, golden body art, dragon subduing fist, etc. there were a multitude of powerful techniques at his fingertips and all he needed to obtain them was system points.

After checking through the available techniques that can be bought with the little system points he had left, he landed on the 'hands of death', this was a heaven grade high-rank art that had both fist and palm techniques in it. When it is performed, lives are bound to be lost, hence the name.

Without thinking much about it jin made the purchase. Immediately all the information about the 'hands of death' flowed into his mind. Different stances and moves contained in it were all crammed into his brain.

After few minutes, he was able to open his eyes again.

"If I had this hand fighting technique earlier, I would have taken care of these guys in about half the time I took", Jin mused, astonished by the amount of power contained in this hand art.

Jin popped some Qi replenishing pills into his mouth as he sat and circulated the true Qi scripture, although he didn't use much Qi during the fight it was still important that he stayed in optimum shape for any and all emergencies.
