The system....

I'm using some complex algebra to calculate stats and stuff as realistically as I can. Feel free to skim by it if you don't like the number crunching. Not knowing won't effect the story at all.

Again John waited until he started to see smoke wafting from the oven. He then walked towards it and opened the oven door.

The alien's hair had fallen out as a result of the intense cooking. So it was not bald and severely charred. John looked down at the alien. He had quite a wide smiled on his face.

"THis'll taste great." He brought the alien to his mouth.

As he did so his jaw began to unhinge and increase in size until it was large enough to fit the whole alien. John put his hand on his jaw. Her furrowed his brows.

~This can't be normal.~

He attempted to speak out loud but his jaw had grown too large for that to be feasible.

{Glutton skill activated: Ultimate guzzler.}

John looked at the blue screen for a momment as if he was stunned.

"AHGHAHAA!" With a slurred scream, he sent his fist towards the screen. THe second his fist made contact he screen vanished.

{Sufficent calories consumed! Stat points are available for distribution!}

John again punched the blue screen in front of him. This time his fists slammed into the word stats.

Again it flickered. And vanished.

{Wiki requested….. Bringing up stats definition...}

{Stats, The empirical physical data of the body. They can be improved through training and other body-altering methods. Stats decide skill limits and physical capability. Some will also have additional effects.}

John furrowed his brows. As he looked at this screen, he came to a conclusion that any logical human would have come to on the first day.

He dropped his body to the ground. His jaw sucked itself back into its normal size.

"It looks like the skill screen in those video games that the one kid plays in the sitcom I watch. Wait? Is this a game? Or gamified in some way?" John could not help but ask himself that question.

"What do games have again? The kid in the show said something about status screens?"

{Bringing up status.....}

{Name: John Turner

Race: Human

Height: 7"2

Weight: 600 lbs

System: Glutton system

Stat modifier:

Weight / (Height x 33.33333333)

Stats: Strength 80 X (2.5 × (Feet above five foot = 2.2) ) = 440 | agility 50 / (2.5 × (Feet above five foot = 2.2) = 3| toughness 80 X (2.5) = 200 + (10% of strength) = 240 | Cardiovascular endurance 50 / (2.5 (Feet above five foot = 2.2) = 9 | Consumption 100

Skills: Ultimate guzzler

Current bmr calorie requirements: 3967 (This does not factor in exercise)

3967 X 100 = 396,700

110,00 / 396,700 daily cals consumed.

extra cals to next stat boost 110,00}

John looked at the screen in front of him.

"So, is this some weird alien technology?" John couldn't help but ask himself.

Of course, the screen provided no answer to his question.

"Maybe this is why I've been feeling lighter all of a sudden?"

He'd gotten stronger.

"So wait. Then, if this is right, doesn't that mean that I will be able to get stronger just by eating? Thats... That's really powerful."

John looked at the status screen with more scrutiny.

"What this stat."

He tapped on consumption.

{Stat consumption: The amount your body can consume and process into stat points and weight daily. Consumption x bmr = maximum daily calories. Consumption is a genetic stat, and it is only shown in certain variant systems. The only way to increase max calories is by increasing weight.}

John furrowed his brows.

"So it's a cap on the max speed I can get stronger then…. I knew it was too good to be true."

Next, John selected the system prompt stat modifier.

{Stat modifier. Your weight decides different physical characteristics just as much as training. Weight acts as a modifier for base stats using the following equation. (Weight X (Height x 33.33333333) Height is a further modifier of three of the main base stats. Heights above five foot will decrease cardio some and increase agility. But agility only increases if not over weight. Strength will be increased regardless but it increases much more if over weight. Toughness is directly affected by strength and cannot be train normally. Cardiovascular endurance is negatively affected by both height and being overweight.}

John spent about ten minutes staring at the prethola of information before him.

From the stat points to the weight mechanic. Everything was exceedingly complex. He could scaricly comprehend it.

"Could you please not show me the math. It makes my head hurt." Said John.

John nodded.

"Okay. Yo system! What's average!"

{Average stat level with no training is 50.}

John looked at the blue screen.

He nodded slightly.

"Mhhh. Okay that makes sense. I guess there's only one more thing I have to look at. Tell me about skills."

{Skills. They are abilities that can alter reality or physicality in some way. Humans have a racial bonus, which lets them learn skills 10% faster. And those without a variant system can learn any kind of skill without restrictions. Skill are the greatest power of the human race.}

John nodded once more.

"Okay and finally. Show me my skill."

{Ultimamte guzzler: Allows you to increase jaw size by 220%, making it possible to consume large to small antrpramorph-sized entities.}

John nodded.

"Okay. I understand."

Sorry for the long info dump chapter. This should be the only one for a while. Now that John knows about the system, he will learn about skills and stuff right when he gets them, instead of throwing many chapters of skill development into one boring nonfiction chapter.

All I can say is sorry, and please enjoy the chapters coming up.
