Weird Couple

"This is literally the worst to hide, if they are trying to hide from us, "Zhenyi said, as she watched the old abandoned factory which was located at nowhere.

After a drive of an hour , both Zhenyi and Long Jie arrived at the location.It was literally like an abandoned witch palace.

There was no sign of human existence as far as one could see.

Not like one could see in the middle of night.

It was like humans never lived there, with several feet tall grass, broken walls and not even a single stray dog was in sight.

"I think it's genius." Long Jie said, watching her with pursed lips and her arms folded over her chest in disapproval as she was assessing the bloody haunted house, that one saw in third grade horror movies.

"Yes, you should ask the owner to sell you the piece of plot. Might come handy in near future." Zhenyi snorted .

"Will you be quiet? We are almost in, "Long Jie said dryly.

It was hard to make out the way in darkness without alerting the enemy.

"In haunted house, you mean. Boooo,"Zhenyi startled Long Jie who glared at her in return. " Are you sure there are human? Because as I can see there are none."

Zhenyi walked ahead of him, her curious eyes examining every suspicious nook and corner.

She turned back and saw Long Jie, barking orders at the men, fortunately no other Long male came with them, as Long Yuan was injured, Long shaoming was overseeing the base that she bombed, and Long Wei was functioning as their eyes and ears, notifying them of every small details.

"Zhenyi? Zhenyi? Are you listening to me?" Long Wei's voice rang in her ear.

"Speak Long Wei."

"Go Twenty meters ahead from the next left turn. "

Long Jie who was connected to the call too, looked at her and gestured to go ahead as he was following with other men.

One needed a trusted accomplice when they were planning mass murder.

For moral support, if nothing else.

Not that he giving it to her.

Ah! Joke! Sinners like them needed no support. Especially moral. When they sold their morals for money.

Because morals never feed you. Money did. And did it matter, where it came from?

Sighing, he said", The door is locked from behind. There is no way other than it."

"Who said there is no way?," Zhenyi grinned as one of the soldier handed her a grenade.

The woman had an obsession with bombs. It was going to be the third blast of the night.

"What the fuck are you doing Zhenyi? Zhenyi are you hearing me," Long Jie impatiently said when he saw grenade in her hand and it didn't take genius to guess what she was thinking.

"If you'd shut up a minute, then you can hear me !"

"Run back and squat soldiers," Zhenyi yelled as took Long Jie's hand and ran. Long Jie who ran with her backwards was astonished as the woman threw the grenade and grinned at him excitedly"We can't break the darn metal door but we can break the walls. That's why I said it was literally the worst place to hide."

She half impatiently and half excitedly started counting seconds. "Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven."

"You are crazy Zhenyi. You could have gotten yourself hurt ."

Long Jie couldn't even dared to think, what if she got herself hurt while playing her childish games.

"Are you worried about me?," Zhenyi whispered, her eyes fell on his lips and she inhaled his scent. It was different to what she breathed earlier, it was minty, sandalwood and him. His natural scent .

"Off course! I don't want a handicapped wife," Long said solemnly while Zhenyi glared at him.

"I should have shoot you, when I had the chance. Now I really regret it. Six. Five. Four. Three."

He laughed at her, literally laughed , a hearty laugh rang in the surrounding . "Fine. You win. My tyrant cat-eyes."

"Cat-eyes? What's that? Two and one. "

She stood up in all her glory and grinned at Long Jie who shook his head at her in resignation. He seriously never knew, she had a childish side to her. The grin she gave him was not sarcastic or mocking but a real one which showed two of her dimples that he didn't realize existed.

What a weird couple they are? Just an hour ago, they were ready to end each other, but now they were seeking satisfaction in chaos, created by themselves.

Meanwhile, Long Wei was watching the security video on his computer's screen over and over, replaying it so many times that Long Yuan started to get impatient.

Long Wei watched how Zhenyi blasted the wall, almost alerting the enemy on the other side. What surprised him the most was not the grenade part, but how the two kids were bickering in the middle of mayhem caused by themselves.

They really had no shame!

Long Wei sighed! Only God could help them.

" ." Up in the sky, God shrugged, like he couldn't understand them, either.

Back to Zhenyi and Jie's side.

"Do you think you can walk alone yourself,

princess, or will you need help with that?"

"Remind me again, why I am marrying you?."

"Because your father hates me and he decided to torture me by arranging our marriage."

"Haah! You still have chance. Back off from the marriage and save your life."

"Really sweetheart? Then what about the promise you gave to your grandfather?"

"He simply wants to see me married. I can marry Sam too."

"Sam? The man who is injured? The same man in hospital?" Long Jie's brows furrowed in hostility.

"Yeah! He even offered to marry me." Zhenyi said and pressed her lips together, holding back her laughter and he scowled at her in return.

'He was jealous?' Zhenyi thought in her mind. But why?

Nevermind. That was his problem!

Long Jie turned his head and looked at her. "Didn't know my wife has a affair behind my back!"

She smiled, not even refusing his words."You know what fiance? Fuck you!"

The glaring contest went for few minutes, then they huffed and puffed, before going back to normal.

They reached the end of the building where the culprit was hiding.

"Wei hack into the surrounding frequencies and keep track. The area may look abandoned but don't let your guard down. Call the cops five minutes after Zhenyi is done with the last blast.," Long Jie said to Long Wei , and in his eyes he was daring her to agree

Seeing as he was being a good little boy, Zhenyi decided to let him have his moment of dominance.

Alexander looked at her, and she nodded. She had planned to have Gong follow the other team of Long Jie that would come after the first one, successfully enter the main part of the factory.

" Holy Shit!," the astonished voice of Long Wei rang in her ear.

"What now?," Long Jie hollered in impatience.

"There are not in that part."

"What?" Both said simultaneously.

" It was a trap."
