adeline slumped down on the sofa immediately she got home. the day had been a long and tired one for her, but seeing her closest friend after a while made her happy.

a small smile settled on her lips as she was genuinely happy for albert, but herself on the other hand, she had never thought of marriage as a big deal, if albert had not reminded her earlier on, she had never reasoned or pondered on the thought that she was overdue for marriage.

god, i'm so stupid! to think i was almost giving in to nox's pestering. i've always known something was fishy about addison when ever she was around nox, adeline spoke in her thoughts remembering the scene from the hospital 5 hours ago.

addison? what are you doing here? are you sick? adeline asked , her mouth in a small frown.

addison turned around , obviously startled. " sister, i , i came to get mom's routine pills" addison stuttered, gripping the test results in her hand so tight, the paper started ripping.

what are you doing here today? addison continued.

well, i came to see a dermatologist, i'm having some reaction here on my arm, i don't know the cause.

oh, please do take care of it, addison replied.

you're going to the banquet right, let's go together, wait for me at the parking lot, i'm off to get my medicine prescription, adeline said and turned away. on her way back, she heard some nurses gossiping .

you won't believe what just happened at the department?

the other nurse looked up in interest indicating for her to continue . "a young lady, not just a young lady, an astonishingly beautiful one, i suppose she's rich too cause she had the laste****

emi, get to the point will you? the other nurse rolled her eyes.

so, she came to doctor rob, who gave her a check up, and found she was 5 weeks pregnant, she immediately requested an abortion, doctor rob was surprised and tried to persuade her, as it seemed like they were acquainted, but she was adamant. suddenly, on the operating table, she. suddenly changed her mind and ended the session, i was watching my hands at the sink behind doctor rob's office, when i heard their discussion, she requested for her pregnancy to be kept secret, going as far as to inform him, she would send him a non disclosure contract, i wonder what she's thinking, oh , she also said the abortion could be done later on, i was so surprised" the nurse, emi, concluded.

emi, you still have the habit of eavesdropping right, don't let anyone else know about this, that patient, is addison winter, her family is a major and important sponsor for most departments in the hospital, the other nurse scolded.

i think that's the more reason doctor rob should inform her family, emi replied. let's end this here, the head nurse hates it when we slack off, emi added dragging her friend away.

adeline who had been listening to them felt stumped, addison was pregnant?. she had never been concerned with addison's affairs, but that didn't mean she didn't care for her.

adeline hurried to her car, and inside, was addison, tapping furiously on her phone. immediately, adeline entered the car, addison hurriedly shoved her phone into her purse, but adeline had caught the contact who she was chatting. as they drove towards the hotel, adeline had realized she left her phone at the hospital, she dropped addison at the hotel before heading back to her car, to go get her phone. " ms winter", a young lady clothed in a feminine fitting suit called her from behind.

here's your phone, i called out, but a nurse from the hospital picked it up and asked if i could come get it, here , the lady told handing her the phone.

thanks bella, why did you call me though, adeline enquired.

someone released an article about you and your siblings, everything, most centered on you, your status in the family, and you being an outcast in the family for bad behavior, bella reported.

okay, i got it , you can go back now, adeline nodded, clearly not bothered by the information.

would like me to investigate, i could trace the ip address in just a day, bella asked.

don't worry, i've figured out who, i just need to know why, i'm off, adeline concluded, leaving bella in the parking lot.

she decided to take a more secluded area to the banquet as , apparently, according to bella, she was a hot topic now, which was when she bumped into the scene from earlier, between nox and addison, she took off her coat, as she put the pieces together in her head

adeline just stared straight at the wall as she usually spent most of the day, lonely, lonely as hell, and seeing albert so happy today, she felt jealous, a good type of jealousy, seeing him so happy reminded her how bland her life was, it wasn't that she hadn't ever set marriage as a goal, it was just that she had experienced 3 failed relationships, and she just wanted to go on a break, but a break had turned into 5 years.

adeline let out a long and heavy sigh , she had been expecting her father to attend, he was the only one she felt more relaxed around in her family, it wasn't like they were close, but at least he was the only one in her family who didn't despise her , or plot her downfall whenever they met, she had really wanted to see him.

her life felt so plain, bland and mudane, she lived on the daily allowances her father always sent. her routine was, wake up, eat, exercise, visit the mall, eat, then sleep.

she really regretted coming back to hampton.

having nothing to do, she fell asleep on the sofa.

the next morning, adeline woke up to the sound of her phone ringing.

adeline, it's me, sorry i woke you up, i was wondering if you could join me, i wanted to go for a shopping spree to let out some steam, you know, i'm sad to leave hampton, francine said.

good morning francine, adeline said in a sweet voice, playfully mocking francine.

where are my manners, albert must be corrupting me. good morning adeline, francine replied.

text me the address, adeline said.

okay, be there by noon, francine concluded, hanging up.

adeline sighed, as she stretched her limbs, she got down from her bed, changing into her gyn wears, she headed into her private gym.

4 hours later, adeline walked out of her bathroom, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, maturity had taken place in all over her, she had grown, chubbier, and her face was rounder, gone was the 23 year old adeline, who was childishly naive, always on diet, she was so concious of her appearance.

she opened her wardrobe, trying to pick an outfit, if she was going alone, she wouldn't even bother to dress up, but francine was really influencial in hampton, she wondered if her mother did not see her with francine, she was sure her mother would treat her better if she knew big wigs, it seemed anger had clouded her mother's sight, as she had even brushed pass francine without greeting her.

snapping out of her thoughts, adeline decided to with something simple.

she a sleeveless spaghetti top with a black jacket on top, a light blue straight free jeans, and a black leather boot , finishing it with a white chanel purse.

looking at herself, she felt satisfied as she walked out of the house.

stunning beauty type to catch all the attention, but she was beautiful in her own way, as she could make heads turn. she was donned in a peach long sleeved shirt, and white baggy jeans, the shirt was tucked in the trousers and held with a black belt, she was wearing a black heel and a black bag.

you look beautiful today, coincidence we both left our hair untouched, francine chuckled as they browsed through the stores, looking for something to pique their interesting.

likewise, adeline smiled in reply.

wow, would you look at that , it's the newest binimom shoe, the one on me know was, released last two seasons, this is beautiful, let's get it , francine said shaking adeline, excitement brewing in her. francine immediately hurried over.

excuse me could you wrap this up for me? francine called a sales assistant, pointing to the red heel.

nah, she's a big girl, she can make decisions on her own, didn't you hear, she loves him, adeline chuckled as, she and francine exited the store.

sir, would you like the shoes? the sales assistant asked.

nox ignored him, clenching and unclenching his fists.
