The Green stone

As steam was released, the camera became foggy and it was difficult for him to see what was happening in the recording. Only after about ten minutes of screaming did the transformation seem to come to completion. The red in the skin was replaced by the blackness of the fur that now covered the subjects entire body. Opening his eyes, the pupils were split like a cat. However, at this moment the man seemed to have less sense and was more cat-like in his mannerisms.

When he looked towards the man in white, his anger boiled inside his eyes and with extreme anger he yanked at his restraints wildly. Immediately after, the man in white seemed shocked, jumping back as the restraints slowly one by one became stretched and contorted until they started to tear away from the bed frame. What had contained the man's thrashing before was now broken and no longer held the man at bay.

"Subject no longer contained. Beginning lockdown procedures" a mechanical voice came over the intercom in place of the female voice that was heard before. This sent the man in white into a complete panic, yelling and screaming to let him out as he now knew his fate with the subject lose and the containment procedures activating.

As the young man watched on from in front of the screen of the computer as the man in white beat his hands into a bloody pulp as he banged on the door to the lab. However it was becoming ever clearer to the young man that this containment procedure did not involve getting the man in white alive. Watching the man being bitten and scratched to death was a brutal scene as the man in white was struggling to stay alive even to the point where his face was not recognisable and he eventually died.

"Containment successful," the robotic voice said.

"Unfortunately it was not foreseen that a complete transformation would also have a qualitative change on the evolution compared to the part transformation. Marks death was unavoidable, however this discovery was worth the sacrifice" After all that he finally knew the man in white's name was Mark however, he felt repulsed as how callous the women were not even trying to save him from his fate.

As the last line was up on the screen, the computer crashed and darkness replaced it.

Standing over the computer the young man contemplated his life, it had been an ordinary one. He had done well in school up until now even though he did not try very hard he was naturally smart and athletic enough to get a good score. He was going through his last few years of high school and doing good enough to get a high score allowing him to get into a good university. Staring at the black screen, he looked at his hair which is white at the tip, moving down it became more blonde towards the base of his spiky hair, this strange colour had accompanied him his entire life getting many strange looks from random people and others assumed he must have dyed his hair, coupled with his dark green eyes as piercing as they were beautiful created a strikingly unique look even with the little extra fat on his face.

Finishing his thoughts to where he noticed a slight red light coming from the throat of the dead female scientist. Looking closer, he noticed it was lodged in her throat but still wiggling as if she was alive trying to swallow it, but it was moving in the wrong direction, it was coming up her throat not going down, giving an eerie vibe to the whole thing. Just before he ran away from the scene, he noticed a pattern on the thing that matched the stone that he had seen inside the stomach of the subject on the video.

Knowing it was not a good idea but unable to stop himself, he moved forward towards the red glowing stone, resisting the urge to pick up the stone and swallow. At that moment he knew that somehow the stone had infected his thoughts, compelling him to merge the stone into his body.

With the stones glow illuminating the area behind him, he noticed something he had missed which was a person in a different suit. It looked like it was made for combat and in place of the ouroboros symbol was a globe that had a sword ran through it, clearly showing that the two people where from different groups. With this came a green glowing light coming from between the dead man's forehead. Slowly the skin pilled back as a stone with a glowing green symbol that looked loopy and majestic like an "m" with a long curly toe attached to a foot like the Theban language. However he didn't know how he knew of such a language nor its connection with such a stone, even so, he had a stronger draw to the exposed greenstone then the red. Without noticing, he had moved over to the dead body and picked up the stone.

Thinking the stone was fine, he calmed down as so far nothing struck him as strange not compared to the red stone that was telling him to swallow the stone still. It was strange he couldn't even rationalise why he picked it up or felt that it wasn't a threat to him like the red stone, however as he came to this realization he suddenly saw the stone digging into the flesh on his hand. It looked gruesome and he started to scream but noticed that it did not hurt as the stone dug into him, it almost had a calming effect on him as if he felt complete with the stone tearing apart his flesh. Soon it was completely inside his hand and began to move up his arm towards his face.

It happened in an instant but he felt like it took hours for the stone to move through his body, up to his arm, onto his chest and up his neck to finally settle into the spot it had come out from the dead guy's head, settling right between his deep green eyes.

His mind began to fade with the fading of the green glow that came through his skin from the stone. Information started flowing into his mind, making him confused as to how he knew what was coming into his mind, as more information came into his mind what seemed to be a video came into being but had no sound. Within the video, he saw a child growing up becoming a man going through school, getting his first crush and first heartbreak until his father came to him when he turned twenty. He sat him down and seemed to be explaining something but as there was no sound on the video he didn't know exactly what was said but had a vague recollection of the man in front of him explaining how the world is actually a lie, that all myth and legends and other more crazy things exist and have been controlled and monitored as best as possible for thousands of years and that the group that is holding most of them were just containing them. Keeping it secret however, his group didn't want to just hold and study the artefacts to understand them, they wanted to use them to further humanity and its goals, believing that only through them could they truly fight the oncoming disaster.

The young man finally figured out what he was seeing as the video kept playing with them slowly walking to a compound and after extreme training, he saw what made him know where this information was coming from as he was standing in front of a mirror putting a helmet on. Looking at the face, a light bulb went off as it matched exactly what the man was wearing leading him to understand that the memories were from someone in that group of mercenary looking people. Assuming the memories were from the man who had just died, he found the plan to storm this compound. Furthermore, he could see the green stone being given to him in the video and it implants itself in his brain as well as what it could do as the father with now greyed hair explained they had found the stone in a ruin of a former civilisation and worked out it can control artefacts. How it did so was still unknown but it could bring artefacts under the users control that much was known.

Why it existed and how it did this was unknown as they only knew this information from deciphering the language carved into the walls of the ruin in which the stone was found as well as learning the people who used the stone before were lost to time. Continuing the video, he got to see the storming of the compound and his own eventual death.

The video stopped and he came back to himself everything was the same but it felt like he had lived two lives. This sudden feeling was strange but what was more strange was that the red stone no longer had a drawing effect. He could now think clearly again and didn't want to swallow the stone now, startling him by the sudden change in his demeanour.
