Goodbye

The car ride was long and quiet on the way home from the zoo, only broken by William's question to his sister "What is wrong" but she would not answer him.

After a long time of asking his sister repeatedly what was wrong, he had worn her down " I thought you had gone back to how you used to be, but you ditched me again, just like when you took me away from mum and dad and then left me alone." 

"I needed to go to school," said William, ignoring the first half of the sentence.

" Yeah, you went to school without me after dragging me along, and even now you want to use the time you have off to go camping with your friends from school. I thought this was our time together for the first time in a long time, but it looks like you do not want me around". 

William was shocked. He just stared at his sister, unsure of what to say.

"Of course I want you around" he finally said.

"Do you?" his sister replied. The short reply cut him deeper than before.
