Him? Could It Be Her?

"Are we near yet?" I asked, looking out the window, "We need to buy groceries."

Kody hanged a left, "We're nearly there." He replied, "Are we gonna go grocery shopping after we head to the dorm?"

"Yes, after," I said as I check my wallet. "or else we'll starve."

"Lost something?" He asked, looking at me while I check my wallet.

"Just checking if I have my money and I.D," I replied as I continued searching, "Yep, it's all here."

I put my wallet back inside my bag, waiting patiently for us to arrive at the dormitory. I just kept looking at the buildings we passed by, the buildings were tall and reminded me of how short Kody is, he's like 5'9 and most of our friends are 6'2 or 6'3, we would just continuously laugh at him if he can't reach something.

Nonetheless, he is very optimistic and cute. I don't even know if he has a love interest, I'll ask him since he asked me, payback time.

"I have a question." I said, "Do you have any love interest that you wanna share?"

He gulped back the fear, "N-No one, you are being weird," he replied, "Why are you even asking that?"

I glared at him, "Ugh, I do." He admitted, "Do I have to tell you the name?"

"Yes, you have to." I said, pointing at him, "I demand you to tell me."

He sighed, "You didn't mention yours." He replied, giving me a fractious look, "That is unfair of you."

I shrugged, "How am I supposed to tell you if I don't know her?" I explained, "You will know if we find her, now tell me."

"Hmph, you always get away with this," he hissed, "You better not be lying."

I raised my right hand, "I promise, I am not lying at all," I said, "Trust me."

He clears his throat, "Her name is um.." he hesitated, "I can't, it's so hard."

"Come on, just say it." I convinced him, "It is not harder than Math right?"

"It's not, I'm just too shy," he replied, "Please don't tell anyone."

"I won't, now hurry," I said, "Spill the tea."

He takes a deep breath, "I like Wendy," he confessed, showing a shy look.

"Really? You like that girl?" I asked, "The girl from 'Peter Pan'?"

He sighed. "No ,no." He disagreed, "Of course not."

"You ate something spoilt right?" He added, giving me a disgusted look.

"I ate nothing aside from this brownies." I replied, pointing at the box of brownies on my lap.

"That's why." He said, "Your stomach is upset and wants rice."

I laughed,"It was just a 'Peter Pan' joke."

"Don't take it seriously."

"So when did you have feelings for her?" I added, looking at him and paying attention.

"Last year, when we joined music club." He said, fantasizing about her, " I found Wendy very adorable and friendly."

I teased him, "Why don't you make a move on her?" I replied, giving his shoulder a little nudge, "Don't be shy."

He suddenly frowned, "I can't."

"I'm way out of her league."

"Come on man, cheer up." I consoled him as I patted him. "It's gonna be okay."

"I heard that she has a crush on someone in our club." He said, giving out a sad look on his face.

"Really?" I asked, "It's you right?"

He sighed, "Of course not." He replied, "That is impossible."

"If it's not you," I inquired, "Then who is it?"

He kept his eyes on the road, contemplating about something.

"Kody, speak to me." I said.

He was in deep thoughts, didn't even return any glances.

"Dude, come on speak." I added, "Are you deaf or pretending to be one?"

He suddenly turned to me, "Honestly, I think she really likes you."

He added, his eyes full of sadness. "I mean, why wouldn't she?"

"Excuse me, what?" I asked, clearing things up, "did I hear it right?"
