2 Chapter 2

Olivia's POV -

My mate is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd be the happiest to tell the world she's mine, she seems to not do the same and she keeps on avoiding my gaze... why?

I get out of the classroom to find my mate and her friends walking towards their next class. Apparently, their friend, Kim, has Spanish 101, while my mate and Jess have Geography with me. My wolf jumped at the thought of having our mate close.

I go into the class, and the teacher sits me next to my mate again. God am I lucky today.

Jess seems a bit different with me now, a bit more distant... why? I have no idea. She said something to my mate and left to sit at the opposite corner in the front which I'm sure neither of them are happy about. I eagerly sit next to her, and I am about to open my mouth to talk to her when a girl suddenly comes into the room and towards us, towards my mate specifically.

"Skylar Annabelle Kingsley!" the girl squeals, and my mate sighs. The girl has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is around 5'9. My wolf wanted to rip her pretty little face off. The girl stands next to her, not even caring about the teacher.

"Hey, Gabby!" my mate greets back, and I resist the urge to growl after having finally known who the girl that the boy from earlier has talked about.

"Skylar... I'm sorry." The girl looks down to her feet that I actually almost feel bad for her.

"Gabs, what's wrong?" My mate looks genuinely concerned for the blondie. I feel proud that my mate is such a caring person yet possessive at the same time.

"My father, he's—"

"The money is in my locker," my mate cuts her off. "Don't worry about it." They genuinely smile at each other and I instinctively growl. Both of them pause and turn their heads to me. I pause, realizing what has happened and notice that the class has their heads turned too, but once they glance to see who it is and see Skylar and Gabby, they thankfully shrug and ignore it.

"Umm..." Gabby says, and my mate sighs. I immediately regret it, but I just can't help it.

"Gabby, this is Olivia the new girl... and my mate."

"Right... I'm Gabriela Westwood. Nice to meet you." She smiles. I return a forced smile, and Gabby laughs awkwardly.

"See you later, Sweets." I can tell Gabby is resisting the urge to kiss Skylar on the cheek, fortunately for her or I will have to declare a permanent war.

"She is not your cousin," I immediately say as soon as Gabby leaves.

"Relax, we grew up together. She's like my sister, and besides, I introduced you as my mate, didn't I?"

I just nod, unable to refute her, and we stay silent until an idea comes to my mind.

"Can I borrow you during break next period?"

She gives me a confused look, her head tilting a bit to the side. I laugh, finding the gesture quite endearing.

"Don't worry I won't bite—" for now. " I just want to spend some time with my mate."

She doesn't immediately answer but I can tell she is having an inner battle which she lost because I see her lips curling into a smile, making me smile too.

"Sure," she agrees. "I can get us out of school."

"How? I thought we couldn't leave the school?"

"Well, we normally can't but my father is... well, he's a benefactor to the school. He's the biggest investor, I guess you could say. He gave me a pass kind of like a V.I.P pass, so I can leave and take anyone with me. He even made one for Jess, Kim, and my brother."

"Your dad's an Alpha, isn't he?"

"He's THE Alpha, Alpha of the Black Moon pack."  Skylar says with a proud look on her face

I stay quiet after that and when the bell rings, she tells me to meet her by the front door.

"Miss, you can't leave the building." Someone stops us.

"She's with me," my mate said from behind me.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Kingsley. Go ahead." He opens the door for us and slightly bows as Skylar and I walk through the front door. When we're away from the door. She leads me to her car. I felt like the car was a representation of Skylar, It was sexy, classy, badass yet somewhat vulnerable.

"I like it."

"Thanks. It's my baby." Skylar says with a gloating look like it was in fact her baby, which made the slight bit amused.

I walk towards her, making her back away towards her car.

"I'll be your baby soon," I whisper in her ear. I back away slightly and take a glimpse at her plump pink lips. She takes that opportunity to duck and get slide away to the side. I chuckle and get into the passenger seat.

"Okay, where do you wanna go?" she asks me.

"What about an amusement park?" I see her smile but then it drops a bit.

"We can't. We only have about half an hour."

"Okay, but I'll take you to an amusement park sometime. What about that park near here? We can spend some time there then eat ice cream."

She nods and begins driving way out of the speed limit. I tense and sink in my seat a bit.

"You're gonna crash or get a ticket." I say looking at skylar with a lecturing? look

"Calm down, it's fine. If I get a ticket, I'll pay it. I have cash in my purse."

"Skylar, how much cash do you have in your purse?"

She shrugs and I sigh.

We get to the park and we sit on the freshly cut grass.

"Tell me about yourself," I say.

"Well, I have a twin brother who's younger than me..." I nod.

"What was up with you this morning?"

"I've never really wanted a mate. I guess I was scared. My, uh, my mum, she left when my brother and I were 8. After that, my dad started to pay more attention to his job and his pack and less attention to his kids. I guess we reminded him of mom and what she left behind which includes him. We rarely ever talk about her anymore." I held her hand.

"Do you want to talk about her?" She shakes her head.

Suddenly, a soccer ball rolls over to us. A small girl chases after it. "I'm sorry," she says, picking up the ball. "I'm Lucy."

"I'm Skylar, that's my—" Skylar pauses and I almost frown. "That's Olivia. Where's your mom?" I look at Skylar, feeling quite comflicted that she won't even tell a child, but remembering what she has told me a while ago, I can only mentally sigh and look away

The little girl points to a woman on a park bench, basically yelling at her phone.

Lucy decides to play with us for a while. Right now, Skylar is braiding her hair and I sit behind Skylar so we are all in a straight line. I play with her hair, twirling it around and slightly touching her shoulder, feeling some sort of current-like sparks. They travel through my fingers, hitting me right in the heart.

I decide to take a risk and plant a kiss on her shoulder. She gasps but doesn't say anything. I keep going, giving her kisses all throughout her shoulders, then trace her skin with my finger and stopp right before her neck. I can tell she wants me to kiss her neck because when I have kissed her real close,  her eyes close as she leans into me. I can also feel her frustration, so I give her small kisses near her neck but never on her neck. I hear her whisper "tease" under her breath, and I lean towards her neck. She leans towards me but I instead give her a kiss on the cheek.

"My mommy's calling me," the little girl suddenly says, reminding us both that we are not alone. "Bye Skylar, bye Olivia."

I stop giving Skylar kisses, to which she stops a whine. She straightens and smiles at the tiny girl, waving a hand after she leaves. I don't let Skylar turn around to face me. Instead, I just run my fingers through her shoulders one more time. Skylar suddenly turns around and sits on my lap, her legs around my waist, basically straddling me. She gives me a look and I smile before resuming my kisses on her shoulder. After frustrating her a bit more, I finally kiss her neck, lightly sucking on the supple skin. Skylar moans a little, tilting her head so I can get a better view of her neck. I start giving her love marks, but choosing areas that are low enough so anyone can't necessarily see them, although I do want everyone to know she's mine. I know Skylar won't want everyone to find out through a hickey.

I start to give her kisses, making my way up. I kiss her jawline, then kiss her cheek close to her mouth. She wraps her hands around my neck and brings me down to her lips, but a sudden sound startle us both. We pull away then realize that it's a text message from Skylar's phone. She clears her throat and responds to the text message. Not even a second later, she starts to grab her stuff.

"Come on we have to go, we're gonna be late."

"Let's skip," I say.

"I wish I could, really, I do, but my father has a rule about that. He says you should never leave something undone."

I raise my eyebrows at her because she has basically just left me there all wet and with no kiss.

"I'm sorry. Next time. Come on." She grabs my hand and we start running towards her car, laughing.
