***** THE TWINS' PET *****

Nakula and Sadewa, twins. Two figures from Wayang stories in Indonesia, and originally came from Hindi people. The Hindu community considered them The children of Asvina, the God of Health. (IAST, Nakula, Sahadeva)

Nakula had always been famous for his handsome face and cheerful demeanor. Sadewa was famous for his intelligence and wisdom in thinking something.

But this story was not talking about them.

This story was about two monsters. Monsters who were very smart, strong, and handsome. They only borrowed these names to live in the human world.

Rain was pouring so hard this night. Opposite from the hospital corridor which looked deserted. Nakula paced back and forth in front of the emergency room, wanting to tear himself apart. How could he is so blind with lust??! Even though Liffi was just a pet, not his mate.

A few hours ago, Nakula pushed his will to Liffi's weak and tiny body, and now the girl was bleeding and unconscious.

"Miss Liffi's family?" After a long waited. A the doctor came out of the emergency room.

"How's Liffi, Doc?" asked Nakula worriedly.

"Are you a husband of the patient?"

"...." Nakula could not answer it.

"You are her husband or not?" The doctor's question brought back Nakula's consciousness.

"I—yes, yes I am her husband." Nakula lied.

"Sorry, your wife miscarried. The fetus is still too small. You should be careful when having sexual activity if your wife is pregnant. Especially in the first trimester." The doctor gave Nakula some advice.

"What?? Pregnant?" Nakula could not believe it.

"I'm so sorry. Please, go to see your wife, she is ruined and needs you right now."

"Ah, Yes, Thank you."

Nakula entered and quickened his pace. Fangs extended out from the corners of his lips. Anger forced the fangs to come out. Nakula stopped his steps when he was in front of Liffi's room, hearing Liffi cry made his emotions disappear. His fangs shrank back in.

"Liffi..." Nakula softly called the girl's name.

"Damn you, Naku!! You killed my child!" Liffi looked fiercely at Nakula.

Her pretty face was filled with anger and resentment. Liffi was well aware that she was alone in this world. The presence of a child would no longer make her life feel lonely. But Nakula killed her child, even before Liffi knew of his existence.

"You killed my son!!!" accused Liffi.

"Yeah, I killed him!!" shouted Nakula in emotion.

"Don't you care? Don't you feel guilty?" Liffi looked at Nakula's face blankly, there was a deep sadness in her black eyes.

"Why should I care? He's not necessarily my child, he could be Sadewa's child," Nakula growled. Jealousy took over his heart again.

"Right, you're right...! It's not necessarily your seed, it's not necessarily Sadewa's either." Liffi looked away. "But he is my son, and I want him." Liffi spoke again. Softer, but more painful and bitter.

Before Nakula could respond to Liffi's words, a panicked scream from a man was heard again.

"Liffi!!!" He looked so worried.

"Sadewa?" Liffi was shocked when she saw Sadewa's appearance in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" Nakula looked emotional, he rushed to Sadewa, his nails sharpened and lengthened.

"What did you do to Liffi?" Sadewa grabbed Nakula by the collar. His fangs were elongated.

Liffi just smiled sarcastically seeing the bickering between the two. They were twins who were born on the same day and hour. Even fighting over the same woman.

"You guys go!! Get out and leave me!!" Liffi shooed the two away.

"You know I can't," Sadewa answered.

"Me too," said Nakula.

"Shut up!! I'm not your pet...! I'm not a woman that you can rotate in bed!!!" Liffi cried angrily.

"Liffi!!" both said.

"You guys are like animals!!" Liffi pounded on her bed, coz of her madness.

A moment of silence ...

"Oh, yeah, I forgot... you guys are animal, beasts after all." Liffi sighed again, controlling her overflowing emotions.

"Liffi, please forgive me." Nakula approached.

"Don't touch Liffi!" Sadewa threw Nakula's hand away.

They both looked at each other with hatred. Liffi smirked. "Why don't you guys kill each other?!! The winner can come back to me!!" Liffi challenged them both because of her hurt, because of her sorrow.

"Solve everything like your animal instincts!!" Liffi shouted, her tears dripping profusely again.

"Is that what you want, Liffi?" Nakula asked.

"Watching us kill each other?" Sadewa asked too.
