The Troubles involved in Interspecies Dating

Eighty-three years ago, humanity went on war with the supernatural species and got our asses handled. It didn't go quite as we imagined, but we survived somehow. Then we made a comeback so strong that none of the other parties could dare think of us as inferior species. And thus, a peace treaty between all the species involved was signed which led to today, where all of them lived together in harmony. . . . And even with all these choices around, I still don't have a boyfriend. Screw you, destiny! If you aren't gonna set me up with someone, I'll do it myself! I might as well download a freaking dating app now that I think about i

Coup d'etat

When all seemed to go to the drain for humankind, it seemed that the others were going through something similar as well. When the factions were all together fighting against humans, it was rather simple for them. They were able to get through without shedding much of their own blood. However, now that they had to fight five other factions with similar or more power than theirs, they were having a difficult time. The casualties were increasing in number and it didn't look like the war would stop anytime soon.

Why? Because every faction leader felt as if they were so close to that victory they were yearning for. If they were to just give it up after getting so close, they felt that all the sacrifices that they put forth would amount to nothing. So basically, they weren't thinking of the future of their citizens and were dwelling over the past.

But the normal people who were fighting in the forefront didn't have the luxury to think that day. With each passing day, they witnessed their friends, brothers, wives, fathers and wives die on that battlefield. And it got to the point that the people over there thought that enough was enough. That was the day that the rebellion began.

It all began in the werewolf camp. They were in decline since the faction war began, but since the uprising of the humans, they were put at an even massive disadvantage. The people over there believed that if they were to get involved in the fight any longer, there wouldn't be any of their kind left in the world. They suggested to their leaders that they do the same thing that the humans did; hide.

Somehow they managed to make a big deal out of it, asking the people to take the sentiments of the masses into consideration and that they wouldn't follow the same thing that the humans did because they did nasty things to them or something like that, even though it was the masses that were suggesting them to do it.

That's when the werewolf folk got it. The heads didn't give a shit about them. They just wanted the power and rule over everyone and they used them to achieve that goal. And that's when a quarter of them decided that they would somehow overthrow the leaders. But they still were a small collective. They needed enough power to do something daring like that. And that's when they decided that they would slowly make the other werewolves see what they were seeing.

And it wasn't like the werewolf camp were the only ones that were feeling so. In the human camp, similar sentiments were on the rise. They hated how their superiors treated the werewolves. Hell, they hated how their superiors were taking on this war. They were just thinking of them as pawns and stuff. And it felt unfair.

It is not yet clear who made contact with whom, but contact was made and the werewolf and human rebel groups talked despite the factions hating each other in the open. It was nothing more than enemies with a common agenda working together just so that they could end the tyranny that was going on the top. It was basically the same thing that the supernaturals did against the humans—an alliance of convenience.

But this simple alliance was inspirational to the normal folk of all the other camps. They were surprised to see that folks of two camps with so much bad blood managed to make peace with each other just this once. And this just added on to the growing list of people who wanted to overthrow the leaders. And all these people managed to meet with each other and form an alliance.

However, it wasn't like the faction leaders didn't get the whiff of it. So, they decided that it was apt to imprison everyone involved in this uprising. But little did they know that this movement had caught on like a wildfire and that just imprisoning a few people wasn't gonna change anything.

Even though they didn't know about it at that point, they soon got the taste of it when a coup d'etat occurred. Well, it was a simultaneous coup d'etat of every single faction. Like, they actually managed to topple the leaders involved successfully. It seemed like a difficult task at first, but the top of the pyramid was so fragile that it came crumbling down when just given a gentle push.

Anyhow, after this successful takeover, the main people who were involved in this movement met up with each other once again. But this time it was to discuss governance and the importance of signing a peace treaty. And it seemed like everyone was on the same page with that. And with that, a very historic event happened ten years ago, with all the factions signing on the interspecies peace treaty.

The peace treaty went like this. Every species was to treat the other species with respect and everyone was supposed to accommodate the needs of the other species. And with that, they meant that the vampires' insufferable need for blood and the werewolves' berserker mode on full moon days should be accommodated as well, to which everyone surprisingly agreed. There were some other conditions and stuff as well, but the main point was treating everyone equally. They believed it was possible. They believed that it was something that could be achieved. Fast forward ten years later, is it something that they managed to achieve?
