2. The triplets

In the village of Azreath, the crane family, one of the most respectful families in the Jade empire resided.

Alaric, a man in his thirties and his wife who was also quite young and in her early thirties were having a child today. Or should I say... Children.

"Madam just a little more!" A woman, seemingly a nurse encouraged the young woman who was about to give birth.

The nurse stretched her hand at Jennifer who was about to give birth, a white light radiate from her hand and shone upon Jennifer's stomach. The pregnant woman seemed to not be in pain anymore as she calmed down and let go of her husband's hand.

"Wow! There are three." The nurse said surprised as the triplets were all alive, that was extremely rare. Normally, when a woman is pregnant with more than one child, there is a 70% chance that only one child will survive as babies tend to feed on one another if conceived together.

Now that Jennifer gave birth to three children... Boys at that, it can only be considered a miracle.

"Waaah.. waaah.."

"Waaah...waah..."

"Yaaaa... Waaah..."

The three babies all began crying, indicating that they all lived.

"Jennifer, they are all boys." Alaric said with happiness and joy to his wife as he kissed her forehead.

"Awww. I wanted one girl." The wife complained but still smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll give you a girl," after their short talk Alaric was immediately called for duty so he kissed his wife whilst promising that he'll be back shortly.

Alaric was a commander of the Jade emperor's army. And his wife was also a warrior, but she resigned as she was pregnant.

The cultivators of this world, people who use the energy of the universe to boost their strength and call upon natural and unnatural forces, were treated with great respect.

Both Alaric and Jennifer were such people.

While Jennifer was thinking what name she should call her children she suddenly murmured, "Ɗamien, Ralph... Mariel."

"Mistress, you said something?" The maid asked as she heard her mistress whispering.

"My children. Damien, Ralph, and Mariel." She said as she pointed them while saying the names with a smile.

Over ten years have passed since the birth of the triplets and there were visible changes in their bodies, one which was their hair colour. Mariel's hair colour changed to purple, Damien's hair colour changed to white while Ralph's hair colour changed to yellow.

Although their parents didn't know why they just assumed that it was a blessing from the gods.

In their world such things were indeed possible, so they thought it was normal.

On the front yard of a big house, the maids walked around doing their respective chores. The mistress Jennifer was there with her three boys giving them a lesson.

"Alright my little soldiers. Let's focus now," she said with a smile before she started explaining, "Qi is known as external energy from the surroundings. But this doesn't mean that I can only be gotten from the surroundings, it can be gotten from other sources."

"It can be gotten from the air we breathe, the water we drink, and so on. Today! I'm going to be showing you basic Qi manipulation. Make sure to pay good attention."

The boys in front of her didn't say anything and just nodded while looking at what their mom was about to do. This was not her first lesson with them. In the previous lessons, they have seen her do some crazy things.

Jennifer held a small rock in her palm, after she took a deep breath, the rock started floating above her hand and was suspended in the air.

"Ooh ooh. Mommy I have a question!" Yellow haired Ralph shouted while raising his hand.

"How did you do that?" He asked.

"Hehe... Well, you see. You ha e to be familiar with Qi first before before you learn to control it. Qi manipulation can be achieved by meditation." She explained.

"Meditation is a state of being asleep, freeing the mind of any thoughts"

"To meditate, you have to be in a comfortable position, now all of you should take your mats and spray it. And do as I say."

She then guided them into sitting cross legged and she also sat like that.

"Now close your eyes and take deep breaths only."

She guided them into feeling the energy in the air and manipulating it to move objects.

Over thirty minutes have passed before one of the boys made progress.

White haired Damien levitated a rock from nearby.

"Mom, I did it!" The boy exclaimed happily as he saw the results.

The second to move a rock was Dexter who was the most tranquil out of all of them.

"I did it!" He shouted as he was unable to keep in his excitement this time.

Seeing this, Ralph didn't want to be left out so he focused and in an hour, he levitated a rock just like the others and he was happy just like them.

"I see they are learning fast." A voice came from behind the woman. Jennifer and her kids looked up to see a man with long black hair smiling at them.

"Daddy!" The boys shouted as they ran to embrace their father.

"We're getting stronger!" Ralph shouted as he flexed his almost non existent biceps.

"They got their talent from their mother after all." Jennifer said with a prideful look on her face.

"Sigh... Come here." Alaric embraced his wife and they all went inside for dinner.
